  1. Trout vs. Holland is one heck of a mismatch. Wow.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2017 -> 05:32 AM) Clearly NOBODY freaked out about Benghazi, e-mails or the Clinton Foundation. Pretty much got a free pass. Oh, that was Obama, oops. Don't worry caulfield. Trump is toast. Maybe not this time but there are three things at work here that will get him out of office before his first year is up. 1.) He is an aggressive clown. He's acting like he did in the business world in his meetings with fellow higher-ups. He's trying to impress them with his "old uncle" type jokes/information. He's sharing too much classified stuff with people the US shouldn't be trusting with any information. He may not be dumb enough to do this again, but he'll continue f***ing up. 2.) The press is DETERMINED and can't be slowed down. They have been in a frenzy since the day he was elected to "get him" (I am not saying that in a negative way; he can and should be brought down and they are doing a fine job of covering him) and they are definitely going to get him. They smell a fraud and coupled with his mean personality and hatred of the press, the press will win. The old saying, "You can't beat a guy who sells ink by the barrel" remains true. You are supposed to be kind to the press, not anger them and this press corps will get him within a year. 3.) Finally don't discount his simply giving up and quitting. He is a very selfish one percenter and he wants glory/praise/honor and if he's getting none of these things and continues to be pursued like a common criminal, he may just quit. RELAX folks, he's a one and done; well he won't even make it to one. Trust me.
  3. Hawk is in a know it all mode tonight. Good thing Stoney isn't in the mood to disagree with him. He's letting Hawk tell it like it is so to speak. Hawk isn't in his mean mode but definitely in his know it all mode. Hawk has all the answers.
  4. You guys are freaking out. Why not just hold a contest to see when he's impeached and removed? I predict he doesn't last one year. I'm still more worried about N Korea than Russia. Trouble is brewing. Trump is gonna want to go out with a bang and we know the Korean leader is certifiably mad.
  5. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 16, 2017 -> 03:09 AM) Should've gone with my strategy. He had the entire season to make 6 more picks. No reason to double down with middling hitters from the same team as if the season was ending in a few more days. Heartbreaking, but why is he doubling down? Man.
  6. Did anybody find Hamilton overrated? Or was it the GOAT broadway type show you've seen?
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 14, 2017 -> 10:30 PM) I would tell you to look beyond stats and learn to appreciate the game of baseball and how hard it is to succeed everyday. Understand its complexities. I don't have time to listen to people criticize all the time. It's as if folks think players struggle because they want to fail Somebody should do a study on guys who try to hit a home run every time up and their value, versus what their value would be if they learned how to bunt and simply hit a single every time via bunt. To beat the shift. Now if you are any power hitter today, you are basically trying to hit a home run every time to the plate. That's maybe 30 bombs a year if you are a success. Because of the shift, you hit about .215 if you are lucky with 30 homers and 80-100 RBI if your homers are productive ones. Let's say you bunted or took a half swing every time to beat the shift. Which would make you more valuable? I'm of the opinion a guy like Frazier is basically worthless because of the shift.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2017 -> 11:34 PM) http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/13/asia/north-k...tile/index.html About time for war with North Korea to change the Comey conversation and provide Americans a distraction The combination of an impulsive president, an active U.S. military that is ready for action, and a bully-acting North Korea with a leader who seems to be the type who wants to be remembered forever, is not a good combination. I still think something big is going to happen sooner rather than later with N. Korea. Hopefully China realizes we have an impulsive president and gets involved. If not could be a blockbuster.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 14, 2017 -> 01:06 AM) I still find it hilarious people wanted him to start full time here (and for a while) Dude is a utility player through and through. You must be a much better judge of talent than some of us. I thought all he did was hit. Then he becomes a regular this year and blows. To be fair, hardly anybody on here thought he was a can't miss hitter. I did, but not many were singing his praises like he was a lock to be a star.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2017 -> 03:08 AM) Amazing how much Davidson's average has plummeted. Love how dangerous he can be, but has a bad knack of swinging and missing on average pitches The curse of the White sox slugger is hitting him. He's at .230, how long before the Dunn-like, Frazier-like, sub .200 average?
  11. QUOTE (swissarmyknife @ May 13, 2017 -> 05:52 PM) While I don't condone tanking, if we should just happen to luck into a top 5 2018 draft pick I would not mind it. Rodon was a No. 3 overall pick. Carson Fulmer was No. 8 overall pick. Are the draft people so sure the White Sox know how to draft superstars?

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 12, 2017 -> 07:45 PM) We bring players on board through free agency, the draft or trades and help them develop into successful contributors. All the while complaining as the struggle and learn and develop presumably because they aren't hall of fame level contributors from the get go. Once they find it and succeed we start calling for them to be traded for someone or something. Don't know what or who that might be. How do you build a winning team with that approach? I don't think the rebuilding people complain about guys acquired. They will give them all the time they need. They love the new names and want more of them all the time.
  13. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 13, 2017 -> 04:30 AM) I wouldn't be counting on Tilson for anything and by 2020 Rodon may be on the trade market because with his agent you know he's going to go free agency and probably (barring new ownership) out of the Sox price range. And you know your stuff, so this is disconcerting. Tilson stinks and IF Rodon ever gets good he gawn. Yuk.
  14. QUOTE (hi8is @ May 13, 2017 -> 05:31 AM) I really look forward to your posts as this season gets progressively worse I can't help it. I'm furious. I don't get why Hahn gets such a free pass. If Kenny were in charge would we be this confident? And isn't KW sort of in charge?
  15. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ May 13, 2017 -> 02:41 AM) For a guy who claims that he doesn't like Trump, Greg sure fights hard to defend him. I told you why. He was elected president by my fellow citizens. I support the USA. Not crazy about Trump at all.
  16. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 13, 2017 -> 03:10 AM) Frazier is so bad, what a depressing acquisition. Don't blame Hahn for going for him but man... Why don't you blame Hahn? What the hell has he done yet to prove he's a halfway decent GM? Frazier is pathetic. Our team is ridiculously bad.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:40 PM) No, it's hilarious. If that's how you want to pass your time, get the f***ing dude's cell phone number. I cannot believe people still respond like they can make a difference. He's clearly a Russian troll at this point. I didn't start this. I respond to stuff. Just because only 2-3 of us on here are willing to disagree with the masses doesn't mean I'm scum. Check how it started. I respond to people. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:44 PM) But you HAVE to realize what you type is just a waste of your time and of space on this site, right? You aren't going to get through to him. It's clear he's here to rile you up. Stop taking the bait and muddying the waters of this thread that have otherwise provided some pretty good updates on the situation at hand. I'm not here to rile anybody up. Read the thread. Just cause I disagree doesn't make me some troll. I mean what I write. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:47 PM) I think at one point weve all wanted to believe that Greg was actually listening as he appears to be a reasonable good person. But eventually I think we all reach a point where we realize that no amount of words is going to change things. Why would I change my mind when others won't? When somebody makes me pause I give them credit and pause and consider what they are saying. I told a few people on here they made good points and made me reconsider my position. It's not my fault somebody called Trump human garbage. it's not my fault almost everybody in this thread is Democrat and 100 percent against Trump and unwilling to even consider he might do something right. I pointed out numerous words I would use to describe Trump. Almost all my words were negative. I don't like the guy. I am convinced if I met him in real life I would find him like most 1 percenters I've met: arrogant, mean, insulting, condescending. But I won't bury him just as I wouldn't bury Obama. Only because my fellow Americans voted him in. He won the f***ing election, folks. Fellow Americans wanted him. Fellow Americans are not evil. If there comes a time to completely turn on Trump I will. That time is not here yet. I've got nothing to lose. I didn't vote for him. I describe him as close to scum. What more do you want? Steve is just another person unwilling to read my posts I guess. Again ... did you read the words I used to describe Trump? Almost all negative. I asked others for their words. Crickets. If you hate me fine. There are people on here who believe in my posts or at least the spirit of my posts. Caulfield, Fathom, Harry CHappas. They know I speak what I believe is the truth.
  18. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 10, 2017 -> 01:09 PM) It's almost as if they were upset for two different reasons in two completely different situations and you're being deliberately obtuse. Our country is totally partisan right now with no desire EVER for cooperation from either side to make it a better country. Very sad. To some extent it's always been this way, but never this bad cept for Civil War days which may be ahead. I'd be surprised if Texas and Cali didn't try to start their own countries.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:13 PM) pretty much all of that is fact supported. Go ahead and look beyond Rush and you will see that Rush didn't use my words to describe Trump: "Ruthless, narcissistic, ego-filled, selfish, shielded, name dropper, paranoid, unable to relate to the common person; but also hard-working, smart, patriotic, driven. I'm afraid he's also impulsive which could be bad for the country." Yet you guys won't list words to describe Trump. QUOTE (Tony @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:13 PM) You accuse people of not responding to your posts, but you aren't responding to mine. You are saying because he's rich he must be successful, he won the general election which means he must be smart, and in your opinion he won the debates. That is what makes him intelligent. And before you start with your "you guys be me in a debate" crap, I'm asking you why those things equate to actual intelligence. Multiple people have given you information into how he made his money, you have yet to explain why winning an election and how most Americans not knowing the map of the world makes Donald Trump smart. Explain. First of all, remember I used these words to describe Trump. Does this sound like somebody in love with Trump? My words: "Ruthless, narcissistic, ego-filled, selfish, shielded, name dropper, paranoid, unable to relate to the common person; but also hard-working, smart, patriotic, driven. I'm afraid he's also impulsive which could be bad for the country." So first of all I don't know why I'm lumped in as a Trump lover. I've always said he's a creep, but I am hoping for the best cause he is MY president. Yes I claim him cause WE voted him in. If WE impeach him and get rid of him, I'll support that at that time. I believe in the process. In answer to your question, I'm saying he knows the map of the world and he knows history which is a form of intelligence. I'm saying he showed very good debate skills and ability to think on his feet and that is a form of intelligence. As far as how he made his money, cmon, that's a totally liberal stance that he ONLY benefited from a golden goose before him. I hate 1 percenters using daddy's money more than anybody but I think he's a great businessman and that's a form of intelligence. Did I answer your questions? caveat: I have to go now so I am done for now. Yes I admit defeat. You all have crushed me. So what? I have my opinions and I still say he's not human garbage as of today.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:09 PM) I don't like Trump because of how he treats others and how he lies to well-meaning people and then does whatever he wants for his own gain. He's not presidential material because he will never be the servant of the people. It's not his nature. His nature is to try to increase his own wealth by any means necessary - and he is slowly trying to do that with the presidential office. He's a grasshopper in ant's clothing. I would agree. I haven't worded it as well but I also have called him selfish and out for his own gain. Great post. "He will never be a servant of the people" IMO is 100 percent correct. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:09 PM) He said himself he grabs women by the p****. Does it have to be your wife, mother, daughter, relative or friend that he grabs to get you to say he's garbage? Why wouldn't it be any woman? Good example, but I stand by my statement that so far he's not "human garbage."
  21. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:06 PM) I wonder what Trump would have to do to make you change your mind. He's a racist and misogynist. He's corrupt. He's dishonest. He's a thief. He's a conman. He cheats on his wives. He bragged about sexual assault and has a dozen sexual assault allegations against him. He's supports torture and killing civilians. This is a quality human being? I can't accept all these things you say here as fact. I still don't think he's human garbage. I do consider some offenses so bad in life that the person could be considered "human garbage," so I guess Trump could ultimately fall in that category but as of now, no.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:04 PM) Just consider yourself lucky it wasn't your family business that did business with Trump, didn't get paid and had to go out of business, only to have the guy who stiffed you, and you can look it up, there are thousands of these people, boast about how rich he is. I'm surprised you didn't attend Trump U. Think of what you could have learned. Handpicked educators by Trump even though he had never met them or knew who they were. In my list of words to describe Trump, I listed mostly all negative ones. Sure he's a creep I just didn't think "human garbage" at this time was necessary or accurate.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2017 -> 08:02 PM) Trump's ego destroys any intelligence that he may possess. He's so concerned about keeping up appearances that he trips over himself trying to cover up things. Now those are two sentences worth reading IMO. Takes like that are profound, reasonable and not partisan.
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 12, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) Greg, you wouldn't be banned. You know this. The inauthentic martyr look does you no good. Thank u for the answer. "Human garbage" is pretty intense and I truly thought I might be shown the door if I wrote that. My only thought was anything is allowed in filibuster.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 12, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) JFC do I have to spell it out ? N.O. You will not banned. Cool. I won't call her that, but why the anger in answering a simple question? I get called out all the time (not saying you) for not answering questions on here.
