QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Paulie is a good hitter. Viciedo is just a hacker, he's in the Adam Dunn mold I fear. Yeah I'd agree he's a hacker. He simply swings at almost every pitch.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 08:03 PM) How has no one asked why Gavin started this inning? Robin figures a guy paid as much as Gavin should be able to give six innings.
-
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) It's one thing to have a bad K to BB ratio as a youngster, but swing as hard as you can every time out? That's just selfish. All he wants is HRs. He has FIVE doubles this year. I don't know about selfish, but it's a dumb approach. He should learn from Paulie. You have to take some pitches and not swing that hard every time. He really does remind me of Uribe sometimes. Other times he looks like a guy with huge upside.

When Viciedo is going bad, he really looks like a hitter who is easy to get himself out.

109 pitches should be enough to send him to the showers I'd guess but maybe one more inning?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:34 PM) You need to stop overreacting to things. He's the one bringing up God on a Sunday and making ridiculous assumptions about Floyd.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) Most Sox pitchers pitch a lot better when they pitch at a brisk pace. That's why I hated hated hated to see mark go. He's like a pitching coach on the mound.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Yeah, because he is in spaceland all damned day with Jesus instead of listening to the pitching coach, who should be his Jesus with the amount of money Coop has f***ing earned him. How the hell do you know this to be fact? What in the world are u talking about?
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) I don't know why it's any more offensive than you ripping on half the members of our current team all day. What if Alex Rios was my Jesus? You asked Gavin where Jesus was today? Cheap shot and offensive.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:22 PM) What do you think I meant? That's why it was offensive.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) How so? What did u mean by where is Jesus now?
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) I'm brutal on him every day. The Jesus comment was offensive.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) Where is Jesus when you need him, Gavin? Some of you are brutal today on Gavin.
-
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) AJ catching Gavin no good.... Why? Flowers would make a difference? Gavin is the one who has nothing out there. His fastball isn't popping and his breaking stuff is meat so far.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) I don't know if I want Dunn participating in the HR derby. It'll make that event a hell of a lot more enjoyable, but at what risk? Why would you worry about something like that? What risk? He tries to hit a bomb every at bat. What risk were you referring to?

AJ Pierzynski is not an All-Star

Great post. He'll never win the fan vote, but would be a GREAT CHOICE. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) Weird how you and I seem to be the only people that noticed/cared. It looked way foul to me.
-
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) Yea they certainly won't pick up the option but they restructure it with some sort of extension Why would Peavy agree to any restructuring? If Sox won't pay the option then he'll go to the highest bidder like all baseball players do.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) And everything that people said would occur has. Struggled last year to build up his arm strength, and he's been great this year. Should be interesting to see who signs him. Boston or New York.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) Who is saying that? The Sox have scored 0 for Peavy. Again. He pitched well enough to win. He has been getting zero support. Are you saying he gave up 4 runs so he should lose? I think he's doing what I usually do, throwing a fit that we're losing. Jake pitched a very good game and deserved to be in this game, I think most would agree. Doing this on the road, I feel he deserves to win the game or a no decision.
-
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) A pitcher with the pedigree of Jake can easily get a 8 figure yearly salary anywhere Do you remember how much time he's missed?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) I think you'll be shocked at how much Peavy gets this offseason. If Dodgers don't get Hamels, I expect them to offer Peavy something like 3/45. Baseball is a crazy game, then. One great season gives a guy with history of health problems that kind of money.
-
QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) No one pays attention to wins. When he negotiates a new contract, those complete games will be just as valuable. Good luck to any team willing to give him more than a one or two year deal with his health history. Got to pass on Jake if you are a GM unless he'll go one or two years at six mill a year.
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) It is what it is, but it by no means entitles Peavy to be upset about run support. Quintana giving up a ton of runs yesterday and winning has nothing to do with it, he got lucky. I think you are wrong. The Sox bats didn't give Jake a chance. Anytime you have to pitch a shutout to get a no decision is not good.

Four runs isn't bad on the road against the Yanquis.
