I liked his music back in the day also.. Saved up 2 months of allowance to buy Thriller.
I went to his concert when I was 4 or 5, I still remember it to this day.
From the time I was 3 to 5 years old, I wore out 3 copies of Thriller on tape from playing it so much.
What is really sad to me in this whole thing is that he had a perfectly normal appearance during the Off The Wall/Thriller days and just totally was never satisfied with himself.
Combine that with his well-documented f***ed up childhood, this guy really just never had a shot at a normal life. He perhaps had the biggest rise to fame of all-time. That is no excuse for his unnatural behaviors toward children at all, I think he needs serious help. However, it's not hard to understand, given his background, how he got so messed up.
I do think he has done some great things over time for people, a great example is Ryan White, who had AIDS and it was his dream to meet Michael before he died. He did a lot for that kid and his family. Hell if anything he's been overgenerous to people of the world. Unfortunately, this all gets overshadowed by whatever goes on at Neverland Ranch and that is just sad to me given the immense talent and heart I believe he has.
