  1. And if that is the case, it will be a long season. Willie Harris is flat out terrible and it will make me sick to go into another season with him as a starter. The guy cannot play. I am tired of hearing he is fast. He can't hit. Just because you can't teach speed doesn't mean that we should keep trying Harris. There was all of this raving about his speed and he didn't even steal 20 bases. Wake up KW and realize that Willie Harris is a waste of White Sox money.
  2. Would be fine with me, he'd be better than Santana.
  3. You all are crazy if you don't want Loaiza as a 5th starter. He may not be that good anymore, but I can't think of many teams with a great 5th starter. I think he would be dependable for 5-6 innings per night and keep us in a lot of games, which is what we have lacked from a 5th starter for a while now. I'll still take him over Judy Garland. My plan would be to sign a 2nd or 3rd starter and line the rotation like this (if we don't get Loz, which we most likely will not). #1 - Buehrle #2 - Garcia #3 - FA Signing #4 - Contreras #5 - Garland
  4. This is good news for us out of towners who like to listen to the radio along with the TV broadcast rather than Hawk and DJ. Should definitely be an upgrade over the MLB package over the internet, which often cuts out and is on a delay. --------------------------------- XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. is raising the ante in its programming battle with rival Sirius Satellite Radio Inc., signing an 11-year programming deal with Major League Baseball, a person familiar with the matter said late Tuesday. The deal would put baseball games for every major-league team on XM's service beginning next year, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The story was first reported in The Sports Business Daily, a newspaper published by Street & Smith's Sports Group. Officials from both Major League Baseball and XM declined to comment, but MLB said baseball commissioner Bud Selig would have a news conference this morning with Hugh Panero, the CEO of XM Satellite Radio. The new deal would be worth $470 million over eight years, with Major League Baseball having the option to extend the arrangement by up to three additional years at $60 million per year. That would make the deal potentially worth up to $650 million. The deal highlights the mounting competition between XM and Sirius, both of which are spending heavily on programming in an effort to attract new subscribers. Washington-based XM is currently leading the way with 2.5 million subscribers to its pay service, while Sirius announced Tuesday that its subscription list has exceeded 700,000. Sirius, based in New York, said it is on track to reach 1 million subscribers by the end of the year.
  5. I still wouldn't trust Foulke in any situation. He's shown me enough over the years that he can really blow the big one at any time.
  6. Keith "I couldn't close a big game for the White Sox" Foulke records the K. Oh the irony.
  7. I think Coop called between innings and Estey is re-establishing the cutter.
  8. I'll take him as a 5th starter, long man, but nothing else.
  9. How about some White Sox - Twins to settle this... A Loz vs. Mienky matchup would do just fine for me.
  10. I remember not being able to stand seeing Embree come into games. Made me want to fire JM on the spot. Now the guy isn't half-bad as a lefty specialist. Too bad we let guys like Gordon and Foulke go in favor of a chode named Koch.
  11. Five ex-White Sox pitchers have appeared in this game: Gordon Loaiza Foulke Embree Sturtze

    Beltran

Our chances of getting Beltran are about the same as Maggs coming back next year....slim and NONE.
  14. Enough with the Beltran dreaming, it's not going to happen. As he continues to smash home runs in the postseason, the more we are priced out of the Beltran sweepstakes.
  15. Hey Jas - I was just looking at airline fares and thought this may be of interest to you for Soxfest. Right now on Southwest you can book Jan 14th - Jan 16th dates roundtrip, non-stop flights both ways for a total of $176, tax and security fee included from LAX into Midway. I don't know what you usually pay to fly, but this seems like a pretty good deal to me. I believe the special goes off October 21st.
  16. I've gotten Strep quite often and the best way to get rid of it is taking a antibiotic and sleeping. Some of the remedies work well temporarily, but hell, it hurts so bad and makes you feel so s***ty that you are better off just lying down. The best antibiotic to take for it, by the way, is Zithromax Z-pack. And why do I know this? Well because I've already had strep three times this year. Hope you get to feeling better soon, I definitely feel your pain.
  17. I think he is respectfully ignoring this question. And if he is indeed working for the Sox, this is a good move on his part.
  18. I know I've talked with Jas about Honel a lot and he seemed to think he was pretty much done and I am starting to lean that way as well now, even after I rated him the best pitching prospect we have despite his injury... (shame on me). But Rex makes a great point, the burden of proof is indeed in Honel's corner and I think it would be at least 2006-2007 before he could make it, if he even does.
  19. Gage, I already have reservations, so if it comes down to it where you can't get a room, you'll be in my room.
  20. Rotisserrie, but I should be fine in boards and blocks with Wallace and Boozer should grab some boards as well.
  21. I'm in a fantasy league with friends, it's 12 teams with 13 man rosters. Categories are Points, 3's, rebounds, steals, assists, blocks and turnovers. Just wanted some quick feedback on my team and any comments you may have. PG: Stephon Marbury SG: Kobe Bryant G: Manu Ginobili SF: Antawn Jamison PF: Ben Wallace F: Carlos Boozer C: Raef LaFrentz C: Emeka Okafor Util: Jamaal Tinsley Util: Larry Hughes Bench: Nick Collison, Gerald Wallace, Davin Harris
  22. Where's all the midget talk? Anyhow, red and white, as much as I don't like the Red Sox or their fans, I think you are classy and I respect what you've said in this thread.
