  1. The real question here is why you have Garcia in front of Buehrle in our rotation....
  2. Call me the devil's advocate by why are we throwing this money at a guy who has yet to even pitch a home game in a White Sox uni?
  3. There is nothing on the AP wire concerning this.
  4. If it's true, that's badass, but I wanna see an official announcement from the Sox first.
  5. Hopefully everyone is sober now and we can resume healthy discussion. Thank you to everyone who pm'ed me regarding this topic and let's keep things centered on REED/BORCHARD and not who likes who. Thanks. Alex
  6. Bring on the earplugs when Ken is behind the microphone. :headshake
  7. Alright I have seen enough. Goodnight kids. (CLOSES THREAD.) :headshake
  8. Alright I am going to give everyone a final chance to quit stirring the pot and stay on topic. If not, I am going to lock this before I hit the sack.
  9. Just chill out...Some people would actually like to discuss the topic at hand here without talking about who is rooting for who and all of the other side items that are being thrown around.
  10. He is exactly right, that's why things need to get back on topic or it will be locked.
  11. Who cares about picking sides, this thread is becoming childish, wait it's already childish so why don't we all get back on topic. Thanks.
  12. I leave for a few hours and my small comment has sparked this...
  13. You are right on all counts. Which I didn't even ask for an argument, all I said is that I am glad we kept Borchard over Reed and then got flack for saying so. At this point, neither guy has done a damn thing at the big league level, including Jesus Reed or "Bust" Borchard, so we can revisit this argument in 3 years when Reed has won his 3rd straight batting title and Borchard is the quarterbacks coach at Stanford.... Everyone happy now?
  14. Why even bother arguing, Jeremy Reed is GONE. Go talk about his sabermetric value with Mariner fans if you're going to be a smartass about it. Maybe you could even ask Billy Beane what he thinks, since he's won so many world titles with sabermetrics.
  15. He has not been healthy all of this year and has missed time as a result of it He missed the entire series here in Louisville earlier in the year and probably 5-10 other games as well. Also barely played in ST because of a quad injury. And by looking at their numbers in Charlotte this year, you are going to have a hard time convincing anyone that Reed was having much better of a year than Borchard, if he even was at all.
  16. I am not going to argue Borchard versus Reed with you. Like I said, you have your view, I have mine. You bring up good points, some of which I agree with. Others with which I do not. I just happen to me one of the biggest and one of the few Borchard supporters left out there. Jeremy Reed will be a solid major league player. He will never be a star player, which his batting average last season made people think he was going to be. Most of the Baseball America guys didn't rank him in their top 20 prospects in baseball even after last season. He was rated 25th in their overall top 100 list, far from "next coming" you annoited him. The Sox are holding out hope on their 5.3 million investment with star potential.
  17. Just say no to Nomar as WU83 said last week...
  18. Well, let's see. Borchard has more potential than Reed does. He's played better this season as well. And with Sweeney projected in LF and Anderson in CF, Reed became expendable as he would most likely played LF upon his arrival. Borchard projects the best out of all 4 of them in the RF position. People forget that this is just the 4th full season that Borchard has dedicated to baseball and he's 25, not the ancient old man most make him out to be. The Sox know that something is wrong with Reed's wrists, which he admitted were hurt earlier in the year when I talked with him. Jas feels the same way. And obviously, as has been proven this year, his .400 season last year was most likely the best baseball that Reed will ever play. That's no knock on the guy, but there was a huge amount of hype given to Reed after that season which he will most likely never live up to, at least on that level. There is no reason to get angry and ask me to "crawl out of Borchard's jock" and "explain how the f*** KW made a good deal." You have your opinion, I have mine. It just so happens that I am a fan of Borchard moreso than Reed because he is more of a power player, which is what I like to see in a ball player. To each his own.
  19. And I'm glad KW made the right choice and traded Reed and kept Joe. Thank you, KW.
  20. They won't face the wildcard if it's Boston.
