And everyone was so damn pissed that we got KW instead of Evans. Looks like KW is turning out to be the better GM if you ask me.
-
Agreed on all points.
-
The avatar is me. The guy in the picture holding the Buehrle sign is some random Sox fan. Found that on the net and loved it, so I used it for my sig. BTW, beastly ordonez, I am not being critical of you, but please think of something better than suck my left nut.
-
Crede's crew can suck my left nut. IMO he sucked this year and did not live up to MY expectations it was his f***in first whole year in the majors and he hit almost 20 hrs...he just about lived up to my expectations Yeah, well he did not live up to mine. That was my opinion though. Fine, he didn't live up to your expectations. But Crede's crew can suck your left nut? What does Crede's Crew have to do with his on the field performance? Not a thing. Let fans be fans.
-
BTW, thanks for the info Cerbaho.

-
Stewart will be gone for sure and Jones COULD be gone. I think they'll keep the cheapest options for the corner spots to complement Hunter.
-
I need a Buehrle sig if anyone is interested in making it, either respond here or PM me.
-
Looks like Blalock's game winning HR at the Cell means something after all. Home field for the AL.
-
Then again Rex, with him coming off surgery, the emergence of Beckett and Willis, the stability of Penny in the regular season (not postseason) and guys like Redman and Pavano, I wouldn't be totally shocked. Then again, considering his talent, it would be a dumb move by the Marlins.
-
Who wasn't an all-star this year, there were about 60 of them. Also, he was a replacement for an injured player.
-
Soley base this on the fact that KW has always tried to add pitching and I don't see how this year will be any different. He's been interested in Vazquez and Ponson in the past. Doesn't mean it will happen, but I don't see the Sox not adding another pitcher if they lose Bart. I don't disagree on the adding a pitcher part if we lose Colon. There's almost no other choice. Otherwise, you're counting on Wright/Cotts/Rauch/Schoenweis, etc. to fill two rotation spots. The problem is, it could be another Todd Ritchie who is added rather than a Ponson or Vazquez.
-
Jas, while I agree with most of your opinions...gotta disagree on this one. What are you basing this on, just speculation or have you heard anything on the other two besides Colon. Vazquez to me would be a huge surprise and I think Ponson is going to ask for more than he's worth.
-
I beg to differ. Of all the Sox starters, Garland put together the longest streak of consecutive quality starts this season. While he may not be a great number 3 starter, he is adequate and I can think of a lot of guys who would be worse as a number 3.

McKeon was manager for nearly 3/4 of the season. I believe he became manager on May 11th. While McKeon may not stress running, you helped me prove my point further when you said that Castillo was caught stealing 19 times this season. Look at his numbers in season's before, he stole way more bases. There's no reason his numbers should be declining in that dept, yet they are. And as I said earlier, he's not an all-star. He may be a good player, not a great player. Unlike most people, I am not for signing him.
-
Castillo can't play SS. Why does everyone seem to think he can? Have you ever watched him play the field? His range is not that good and his arm isn't that great either. His steals also took a major decline this season. And don't say it's because of McKeon, because Juan Pierre led the major leagues in steals. Castillo is a good player, not a great player. Definitely not an all-star player. Spend money elsewhere, not on a second baseman who is simply not going to win or lose the division for you like a high impact pitcher could have the chance to do.

To all the responses.

Fact or Fiction: Magglio Ordonez will start the 2004 season with the Chicago White Sox. FACT: Trading Ordonez will only alienate Sox fans and hurt their chances next season. I say he stays, then walks after 2004. Fact or Fiction: Bartolo Colon will be a member of the Yankees in 2004. FACT: They want him, they'll get him. Case closed. Fact or Fiction: Jeremy Reed will make the White Sox out of spring training next season. FICTION: He'll start the season in AAA, then be called up in July. Fact or Fiction: Ozzie Guillen will be the next manager of the Chicago White Sox. FICTION: I'm sticking with my darkhorse candidate, Wally Backman. Fact or Fiction: Jerry Manuel will be employed (in some capacity) by a major league ballclub next season. FACT: Head of Concessions for the Detroit Tigers. Fact or Fiction: Joe Borchard should no longer be considered a prospect. FICTION: After a good spring in 2004, will make the big league club. Fact or Fiction: Robbie Alomar will be a member of the 2004 White Sox. FACT: 2-year deal for Robbie, who will finish his career on the Southside. Fact or Fiction: The White Sox will be the 2004 AL Central Champions. FICTION: I like the Twins again in 2004 unless we make a few good moves, as much as it pains me to say so. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm sure we can do version 2 if need be...

ESPN loves to play fact or fiction on Sportscenter, so why not play it right here on Soxtalk. I'm gonna make some statements and I'd like anyone with an opinion to reply with fact or fiction and please say WHY you chose fact or fiction. Maybe we'll dig this thread up at the beginning of next season to see who was best at predicting the future. Fact or Fiction: Magglio Ordonez will start the 2004 season with the Chicago White Sox. I don't dislike anyone on this board. This board is supposed to be fun, nothing else. No reason to get your feathers ruffled over anything going on here. Therefore, to answer that question, yea I like Roman or any other Sox fan who posts here. Although I may not agree with everyone, I don't dislike anyone.
-
Wait, so you actually like Roman? I don't have a problem with him, he's never done anything wrong towards me and he's just an outspoken kid. Got nothing wrong with that.
-
I like it "TheBEGOOD" Much better. Frank is probably gonna be with another team next year anyway. Wishful thinking, but hey, we can only hope....
-
Maybe this will convince JR to get his head out of his a$$ and spend some money on something besides William Koch.
