  1. Castillo flies out to shallow left, 1 out, no run.
  2. Pierre lead off triple!!!!!!
  3. He is escaping criticism from everyone. On PTI, he wasn't even in the top 5 factors that caused the loss. He's lucky the fan was there to bail him out of the criticism after he booted that routine ball. Just goes to show they'll blame anyone, even if it's complete nonsense.
  4. I'm rooting for the Yanks because IMO the Red Sox wouldn't beat the Scrubs... :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
  5. Glad to see they kept Pachecho, he would have been claimed in the Rule 5 had they not. Don't know much about Gload though.
  6. Besides the fact that he's a Cub fan, he also looks like a Cub fan incapable of defending himself....looks about 5'6" or relatively the same size as Aaron Miles...
  7. Yes that link is in one of the other threads... Nonetheless, embarassing behavior by Cubs fans...
  8. It appears there was someone else interfering with that ball last night...
  9. He's not really considered that big of a prospect. Has a lot of speed, but he's an average player from what I've read.
  10. Fullmer had an outstanding year in 2000 with Toronto with over 30 HR and 100 RBI. Besides that, he's pretty much the same player in my mind as Dauber is, just younger.
  11. I am sure he would never admit it, but I wouldn't see the motive of anyone to print a story like this, unless there's stuff we don't know about going on behind the scenes.
  12. Giambi homers in the first to put the Yanks up 1-0. Varitek just hit a bomb into the upper deck in left to make it 1-1 in the top of the third.
  13. It's in Baseball Weekly, available on newsstands today, page 16. Bob Nightengale wrote the article, so I'd consider it to be trustworthy. He wouldn't jeopardize his credibility as a baseball journalist over Wally Backman. In fact, I doubt he would even have a reason to mention Wally unless he was given this information by a credible source. This isn't the National Enquirer we're dealing with, it's a publication owned by Gannett and USA Today. His email is [email protected] if you want to email him.
  14. Seriously if we can deal Konerko and if we don't re-sign Thomas I like the idea of Fullmer playing first base. CWSOX45 I don't see him as being that much better than Brian Daubach, but hey, what do I know?
  15. I am sure he is welcome at the Cell whenever. May even help fund season tickets for him. I know I'd like to shake his hand. Maybe we can have a Steve Bartman Bobblehead Doll promotion next season at the Cell....
  16. Can we trade Colon if we sign him? It wouldn't be a bad idea to sign him and see what we could get. Although I think we need pitching and a trade of Ordonez wouldn't kill me if we got good players in return. Ordonez and Konerko for Martinez and Edmonds. Martinez as in Tino Martinez? Hope you made a typo there. No reason to sign Colon and then trade him off. I'd rather have the draft pick and the flexibility of signing whomever I chose rather than being at the mercy of another team to make an offer for him. If he does indeed sign, Maggs will surely be gone, which is bittersweet for me. While I like Maggs, I do realize that a rotation of Colon, Buehrle, Loaiza, Garland and someone else could def. help us win the division more than Mags.
  17. Jas, your thoughts on the Bartolo offer. I think we've beefed it up as much as possible. Gotta believe Maggs will be traded if Colon signs that deal. No way we can afford both.
  18. Backman will be lucky to be retained in Birmingham. And his shots of ever working in the big leagues with the Sox are over. I see him leaving the organization and starting somewhere else in the minors. Hopefully he'll make better decisions wherever he goes. So long, Wally. :fyou :fyou :fyou
  19. Losers.... :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
