  1. I am actually rooting for the Yankees to beat the Red Sox. Just something I don't like about the Red Sox. Don't like Pedro, don't like Manny, don't like Nomar, don't really care for anyone on their team. Can't believe I'm saying this, but go YANKS.

    A Smoking poll

Unfortunately this poll does not represent an accurate view of the current American climate on this matter.
  3. Don't know if anyone here listens to Howard, but I'm a frequent listener. Anyhow, found this site the other day that has the audio clip of Roger Alan Wade performing "How bout a little poontang..." on the show a while back. Artie still sings this from time to time (if you saw the Vegas shows on E!, he kept singing it while he was drunk). Anyhow, I find it hilarious and maybe it'll make someone else here laugh as well. http://www.rogeralanwade.us/
  4. Or Kip, maybe we could start a league where we have a live draft and not a gay auto-pick draft?

I won't be watching Game 2, instead I'll be watching the series that will produce the MLB champion this year, the ALCS.
  6. If I am not mistaken, combined with the MLB Extra Innings package and the WGN games, there were probably a total of 135+ Sox games broadcast this season for out of town viewers (Like Jas and myself). Of course we'd love to get the WCIU games as well, but I'll take 135 of 162. I think one change that MLB needs to make on that package is the way they choose which broadcast you receive. If the Sox aren't at home and you're not in the Sox broadcast area, you rarely get the Sox broadcast. Instead you're forced to watch the home broadcast. And in the event that the Red Sox or Yankees are playing anyone, their broadcast is always used with the other one being blacked out. My question for MLB is, if I'm paying $150 for the package, shouldn't I be able to watch the broadcast I want? Just a thought, but to me, it makes sense and it wouldn't hurt them one bit to create some extra channels so that each broadcast would be available, even when the Sox are on the road or playing the Yanks, Red Sox, etc.
  7. We should re-name this forum SoxTalk Medical talk.
  8. Maddux to San Diego, Arizona or Los Angeles. Millwood back to the Braves. You heard it here first.
  9. I'd say the reason the Yanks want Castillo is that he's a true leadoff hitter and they believe that Soriano can be more productive farther down in the lineup. A lot of Sox fans (me included) were interested in Luis, but there is no way we will put up a fight if the Yankees are after him.
  10. Aids, Warts and Herpes are the only uncurable ones or at least that's what we learned back in good ol' high school.
  11. Heard that too and just laughed to myself. It's never a Cubs fan, it's always someone else. :finger :finger :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
  12. - Reports that the Yankees will seek to sign Luis Castillo and shift Alfonso Soriano to CF and Bernie Williams to DH or a corner outfield spot. - Reports the Braves will not make an offer to Javy Lopez and will most likely let Greg Maddux and Gary Sheffield walk. - Reports the A's will not make an offer to Keith Foulke, citing that the team does not have the money to afford him. - Reports that if Frank Thomas opts out of his $6 million option and tests free agency, the Sox will not bring him back at the $8 million team option.
  13. Not interested in Astacio, Burkett, Byrd, Carpenter, Rusch or D'Amico. The rest are worth a look, I suppose.
  14. Agreed. If we are going to unload him, we need a solid arm and a solid hitter plus prospects or can't miss prospects.
  15. I think you trade him for the best deal you can get, if that's the direction the team wants to head in. Personally, I liked the earlier idea of Jas that had Mags heading to San Diego for Peavy and Nady.
  16. No way on Lopez. He's going to want a lot of money and we have Olivo. Livan Hernandez has an option with Montreal and will likely be retained. If he does slip free, I wouldn't overpay with him because there's no telling what you'd get. Castillo and Pierre are both intriguing to me, but you only go after Castillo if Robbie leaves. And if Castillo asks for Ray Durham type money, there's no way he'll be on the Sox.
