HAHAHAHAHAHAHA and you were making fun of me during the game last weekend... me doing it is fine, since I'm a freaking idiot when it comes to these damn boards, but you, you are the main guy here, the Sultan Pimp, or whatever it is, you shouldn't be f'ing up like this. not good at all. you set a very bad example.

wow, a lot of idiots posting in this thread. Harris has had success stealing bases his whole career. his problem isn't knowing how to streal, but having the confidence to do so. ever since June rolled around, he's received less playing time for no reason whatsoever. that caused him to get into a slump (while learning how to play CF). so now, he's' in a mindset where whenever he gets a chance and gets on base, he can't blow it and doesn't want to get thrown out. this is all Guillen's fault IMO. he sat him earlier for no reason and played with his head. if Harris wasn't benched and was playing everyday up through now, you are talking about him having 20-25 steals right now. Harris came into the season with all the confidence in the world to play ... he's lost a lot of that.

very good point. if the Sox are going to get out of this funk, it's going to be because of aggressive baseball. I have no problem doing a hit and run with gload on first and harris up, even if they did it once in the at bat. the guy needs to throw a strike (he's not going to purposely throw a junk pitch, at least not most of the time), Gload has decent speed and Harris has been making contact, predominately to the right side on the ground. Ozzie's theory was, at the very least, we get a guy on second with one out, but if Harris finds a hole, you have first and third with no outs. I personally love the hit and run (the guy is in motion first, but it also forces the batter to make good contact on the ground, a problem some of our guys have at times) and considering the way our offense has been, I don't mind taking the chance.
-
he wasn't stealing, it was a HIT AND RUN. usually you get a pitch somewhere near the strikezone, the pitch Harris got was terrible.
-
no he wasn't, the Sox don' have coaches who call plays, the players do things on their own, he's an idiot. notice the sarcasm.
-
that isn't his fault ... it was a hit and run, but the pitch wasn't even close. it happens.
-
are you sure it was me? did you go under a different handle at the time because I don't remember.
-
when a team loses, chances are they will look like they have no fight.
-
there are a few new posters who I'd love to see gone ... a lot of idiots lately.

I'm not saying he's a nobody pickup, but there have been a lot of mid-level NL pitchers (which is what he is) who have come to the AL and have struggled. career era's versus the AL BOS - 9.95 ANA - 1.13 SOX - 8.44 CLE - 10.29 DET - 1.35 KC - 5.03 MIN - 1.08 OAK - 7.84 TOR - 30.86 of these nine teams, he's had an ERA over 5.00 with six of them, with only one actually in the 5.00's. that differentially may be .3-.5, but with Benson, you have to expect it to be higher ... if you go strictly by the numbers.
-
Benson has some talent, so he could be effective, but a 4.00 ERA in the NL usually translates into a 5.00 or so in the AL. he will improve them, but I don't think it will be by much.
-
wow, some of you are really jumping the gun. the play was bad, no doubt, but you guys are bashing his skills around one baserunning play and a couple mistakes in the field? he's made two pretty good defensive plays in the last week (none noted) and has been a consistent hitter all season ... yet it seems some want him gone. as far as the record when he plays? are you kidding me? bring up a record for a starting pitcher but not a position player. that's just dumb.
-
with Thomas out, Harris probably has the best eye on the team right now. out or not, he's going deep into counts, which will eventually lead to him getting on base. stick with him.
-
because then you lose Politte
-
he wanted Marte.
-
we could've gotten Jose Vidro in the deal and Greg, I have a feeling, would still question it. there are some guys who will question KW's moves just for the sake of questioning it.
-
it was one of the worst comedies I've seen in a while.
-
halo sucks ... sons of b****es wouldn't die when I'd shoot them right in the head ... but as soon as they got one shot on me in the nuts, I was killed ... bulls***. it was a good time though, jason and mike did some nice jobs on the interviews ... you guys will like them when you read them.
-
it he should have dove or rolled after making that catch. it was a good catch, nothing more.
-
I would be more concerned with the fact that never threw more than 50 innings a year over there in Japan. He's closing in on 30 with more than half the season remaining and I'm sure a lot more innings to come. that should be interesting.
-
he's always been up and down. the thing is, when he's on, use the f*** out of him. The main thing for him to is to use that slider, which is pretty good, and throw inside from time to time. the other day, when he got beat, he wasn't throwing fine, he was just throwing outside pitch after outside pitch ... very predictable, fastball or not.

The official come eat your crow about Diaz thread
Molto replied to AngelasDaddy0427's topic in Pale Hose Talk
as I've said for three years, it doesn't matter who is playing in these series'. We could sign Jamie Navarro tonight, start him tomorrow and you still couldn't count us out, and the same would go vise versa. Weird things happen in these series' and today was no different. Of course, I'm not taking anything away from Diaz's talent, he has the ability, but people were crying because of today's starting pitcher matchup. people were crying yesterday and how we would have no chance against Prior, when it was the Sox themselves that lost the game, with little help from the Cubs. -
no offense, but after reading your post, you may be one of the dumbest posters I've seen on this board. The organization hasn't won a WS in 90+ years and we haven't had good fans since the 90s, but yet JR is to blame for it all. upper half in payroll, upper half in play -- bottom half in attendance ... common sense, idiot.
-
the Sox could have Danny Wright, Felix Diaz and Jon Rauch start those three games and it would still be a hard series to predict. why? because the crosstown series is unpredictiable. it is never about the best team, as good players can suck and bad players can be hero's more so in this series than any other. it's the way it has always been and the way it will be this year.
