I've stopped eating hot dogs a while ago, but all those places are good for one. Tommy Burns used to be a popular one, he passed away a few years ago. the last hot dog I ate came from Best Kosher on Pershing and Morgan.

oh yeah, Bridgeport will be the new home to the Fire too. not sure when the stadium is going to be built, but it is going to go just a few blocks south of USC.
-
have you ate pasta since? remind me next time you come down to give you a jar or two of sauce.
-
it was Rosies, then Pantano's (at least they were the owners, I knew them too Steff, lol), then Paulies and now Punky's. at least I think it went in that order.
-
lol, how many bowls did you eat, jas, 2-3? I remember my mom asked you if you wanted more and there was like 1/8 of a second gap between the end of her question and your "yes", lol
-
yeah, that place is called Punky's, I have yet to eat there, but I hear the food is good. Wing Yip is good too, I think I ate takeout from there a week or so ago.
-
lol, wow, and inside joke on the boards that i actually get!
-
good player but they overpaid. one year with 60 RBIs (correct?) is not worth $4-5 mil a season over three seasons.
-
if you are going to move Valentin, have him play second, play Uribe at short and have Harris and Rowand platoon in center.
-
I think I know what place you're talking about, but I don't know the name, I know the owner.
-
lol, yeah, just a little, lol.

Gio's is different then ours. we focused more on sandwiches, while they added more tables and spiced up the place a bit, making it more like a sit-down restaurant. from teh sandwich standpoint, people haven't been too happy, but they are doing REALLY good because of their pastas. you used to stop there Jim? You may have seen me then, short, skinny dorky looking kid with glasses, lol. what is your name, if you don't mind me asking? I remember the Hickory Pit, not the old one, though. Nick Spatta rings a bell. I can't picture his face, but his name is very familiar.

apparently the grandmother is getting really sick. like our place, it has been run by a family. running a restaurant business is hard damn work, after awhile you have to call it quites, or do what Ricobenes did and expand while lessening the quality of your food. people still go there though, but from what I've always heard, it isn't the same as it once used to be.

My family's place was Scalise Deli. since 27th and Lowe is tucked way in a residential area, like La Malinase, it never got a lot of attention from people outside the neighborhood. we were known for our sandwiches, from steak, to chicken, to beef, to sausage, to eggplant. we also had daily specials like pasta f**ioli (mon.), arancinni (tue.), panzarotti (wed), spezzantino (thu.) and pasta (fri.) pardon me for the spelling, it's been awhile since I had to spell those words.
-
La Milanese is going to be closing soon, so get it while you can.
-
if my family's place still existed I would list that as the #1 place (we had the best sandwiches in the neighborhood and that isn't bias talking), but we called it quits after 30 years. Instead, I'll add Gio's, the deli/restaurant that is at our old location, 27th and Lowe. Their sandwiches are okay, but the dishes are pretty damn good, and that's coming from me, a guy who eats pasta with homemade sauce every night. only prob is the prices, don't expect a deal.

welcome back baggio.

Although I hate to say it, SoxNet is gone for the better. Even though I loved every minute of it, it was time to move on anyway.

I have a feeling Alomar is gonna have a really rough season.
-
I'll take one too steff, [email protected] thanks

people hated Jimenez from the start. 95% of the people who hate him now hated him before even seeing him. nobody cared or gave a rats ass when Jimenez practically carried the offense over the first mont to two months. is Jimenez lazy? at times he was, but he was no lazier then some of the other players. if you were to put other players under a microscope like people did to Jimenez, you'd see a TON of lazy players who never get picked out. it was a good signing Cincy and with a little guidance, Jimenez could be a good player. the guy broke his neck in a car accident and recovered and was playing most of last season with the Sox hurt, yet he's lazier than the average player.
-
O's may still sign Rodriguez. They may just decide then to move Lopez to first or DH. I doubt they would do this, but it is a possibility.
-
wow did they overpay, but what do you expect when you get an overrated player. Lopez isn't worth that much money.
-
I don't know why I even bother complaining, but I can't stand how some of you think that every move the Sox make is done as a blockbuster. the Jose Paniagua signing wasn't bad. did it work out? no, but he signed a dirt cheap contract and was an up-and-coming reliever just two years prior to us signing it. it was, like this, a safe signing. it may or may not work out, but please just because the Sox sign someone, don't make it seem as though they are making a big deal of it and don't make it seem as though they are the only team to sign guys like Paniagua and Santiago. I can't really remember Santiago from last season, but he put up some decent numbers if that means anything. give him a chance.

if I were KW, I would talk to Nomar to see if he would be willing to play here and potentially sign here. If not, we should make a deal with LA. If so, I'd keep him, he's a great player and could fill our shortstop needs. forcing the Dodgers to take Konerko for Perez could be another good way to do this since they are desperate for offense. and then, if you can dumb Valentin, you can then save enough money to keep Nomar and sign Ponson or some relief help
