  1. Shohei was like 4-27 in his last 7 coming in to today. It happens to literally the best.
  2. Liam returns to the active roster and Reylo returns to form. Coincidence? People are asking.
  3. Burke gets his first W of the season, Knights win 4-2. Colas 2-4 with an RBI. Sosa 1-3. Haseley in his first game back, 2-5 with a 2B. The other RBI were from a Mondou solo shot and two hits from Eric Gonzalez (including a 2B). Old friend Thyago Vieira took the mound vs. the Knights in the 8th.
  4. Yeah, I was kinda hoping he'd singlehandedly force the pitching swap early. No stats to show for it, but seeing 21/86 pitches from the starter is still wild.
  5. I appreciate Seby trying to get his pitcher some rest here.
  6. I don't think I would have minded Romy hitting for himself there, honestly. He's been hot lately, including some key RBIs.
  7. Interesting write up on Cannon from Baseball Prospect Journal
  8. Game's over if Greene is simply held to a double. Or if Burger's smash to center got out, I guess.
  9. Jaime Barria had been listed as the Angels' probable starter vs. Lynn on Wednesday, but they just put him in to pitch in extras vs. the Marlins. Presumably that means he won't start after all, but I'm not sure who takes his place since they used their other swing guy Silseth too. Looks like Detmers would have 5 days, so there's a chance we end up dodging Shohei on the mound and facing back to back LHP at home. Better make something of it. Or just wishful thinking, I guess...
  10. Verlander's struggles continue. He gives up 5 runs in the second to the Rockies at Coors, 45 pitches through 2IP.
  11. Mena looked more like himself today: 6IP, 3H, 2BB, 5K, 3ER. The 3 runs were all on one swing, a HR following TDLOW and a single. Outside of that, he had three 1-2-3 innings and just two other baserunners.
  12. Maybe the dugout just didn't see an angle they liked enough to challenge that play at home, but Pedro seems like he would want the team to be rewarded with a run that they earned even if they probably don't need it to win. Unless...that run would have put the Sox up 9-1, getting the Tigers to the 8-run deficit necessary to put position players on the mound. There are benefits to be had from taxing the pen of a team you play 5 more times over the next 9 days.
