  1. Jerry likely even knows deep down that 2024 will be a lost season, although he would never admit it publicly. Why would he allow Getz to spend $10 million on Duvall? In the grand scheme of things, a Duvall, Gallo, or Hicks isn’t going to be a difference maker on the season anyways. Brett Phillips is definitely your guy. It’s the White Sox way.
  2. It’s news for any of the crazy people that think there’s any chance that Getz holds onto Cease until the trade deadline. Rosenthal says he will be traded once the rest of the better starting options (Imanaga, Snell, Montgomery, Stroman) are signed and cited the obvious massive risks that make holding onto Cease a bad decision — a poor first half performance and/or injury, which still outweigh Cease potentially pitching lights out.
  3. So is this an admission that the Sox screwed up with Crochet by bringing him up as a reliever? And also, will this be another screwup if he gets injured trying to throw way more innings?
  4. According to Brennaman’s Wikipedia page, he has been hired twice since the incident, so he has been given a second chance already. Do I expect the MLB to do the same? No, but I don’t think this should come as a surprise to anyone.
  5. The McDaniels/Vrabel to NE rumors are already circulating.
  6. How soon until Yankees fans are posting on this board that we are only getting Spencer Jones in a Cease trade in our wet dreams?
  7. You aren’t misremembering. Rutherford was a 40-45 FV prospect. Jones is 55.
  8. If your point is that Yankees prospects bust a lot, sure they do, like many prospects. But Rutherford never had the pure power that Jones has, nor did he ever develop it as anticipated. Quite like our own Ryan Sweeney years ago.
  9. Agreed on Poles but you have a chance at a franchise-changing leader and the Bears should take the leap.
  10. I’m fine with that. Give me the guy that turned around a 49ers team and went 49–22–1 in his time there. Harbaugh is more of a proven winner in the NFL than either Poles or Eberflus.
  11. Which is what the Bears should do. Instead, we will have another lame duck coaching staff advising on QB decisions.
  12. How can we get Randy Miller hired to the Chicago media? The guy has covered more interesting Sox info in this one article than our local scrubs have all offseason.
  13. They “could” get a better package from the Orioles because they have the better prospects, but unless Elias flinches at some point, I wouldn’t be upset by a Jones/Hampton package.
  14. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like we could possibly see a trade soon, if this Yankees meeting yesterday meant anything.
  15. Who would want a proven winner like Harbaugh? And god forbid a guy with his proven track record would actually run the show for the Bears! We all know the McCaskey’s and everyone they have hired over the years have done such an excellent job, so why cede any power to someone that may actually make the right moves? To quote Forrest Gump, “stupid is as stupid does.”
  16. But he managed to stay professional and make the call on that Castellanos homerun right in the middle of his apology. ?
  17. I doubt Orioles fans would trade places with Sox fans right about now.
  18. Agreed. We definitely have it the worst because the same awful owner owns two of our beloved teams and seemingly doesn’t care how long he runs them into the ground, as long as they produce a profit.
  19. Exactly. It’s pretty obvious that he meant it and didn’t realize he was speaking with a hot mic. His “super sincere” apology, while cutting out of it to call a Castellanos homerun, made it even worse. What a bonehead.
  20. This idea of Caleb Williams’ decline is a myth. USC lost games because their defense was atrocious and even Williams couldn’t keep scoring 45+ points every game. I wouldn’t say that their defense was only a part of it, it was the main reason.
  21. I really don’t care about Jerry’s money, but to what end? Other than a pricey deadline trade candidate if he has a big first half, Teoscar doesn’t help this Sox team win anything in 2024.
  22. Agreed, I wouldn’t be surprised if Atlanta would rather trade for Fields and try to be competitive immediately, rather than wait for a rookie QB to develop.
  23. I think the Vikings bring back Cousins, but your list makes sense. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39266834/kirk-cousins-hopes-stay-vikings-structure-most-important
