Good catch, Spiff. Looks like I'm going to need to change the SS on the all-minors list.
  2. I'm not using 75%, I'm tackling that. I've got a formula to figure that out, thankfully.
  3. Because, as Jason put it, I have too much time on my hands, I'm going to see if Ozzieball really works. "How", might you ask? Here comes the fun: I will go through the first 81 games of the season and compare the "basics" of Ozzieball which include: Bunting men over from 1st to 2nd Bunting men over from 2nd to 3rd Stealing bases I'm going to go over every situation in which the first two categories happened (subtracting bunts to avoid double-tallying), and tackle the golden 75% rule given to us by Moneyball for stealing bases. In summation, I'm basically going to see what the percentages are for every situation: Chance of scoring.... Man on 1st w/ 0 outs With 1 out With 2 outs Man on 2nd w/ 0 outs With 1 out With 2 outs Man on 3rd w/ 0 outs With 1 out With 2 outs And then work math to my advantage -- If any of you are interested, and I hope you are, I'll be starting this project up after I finish with my latest FutureSox article and should take me a week or so to tally every situation and go from there. While this won't say "Ozzieball blows!" or "Ozzieball is great!", I'm hoping it gives everyone an understanding on the "Billy Beane" perspective and how it applies.

He's Hitchcock for f***ing retards, enough said. I'm not wasting my money on this movie unless I happen to see it with a girl where I don't even watch the movie for 90 minutes.
  5. Have you ever seen him pitch? His stuff is mediocre at best and would probably be #4/5 starter on a bad team. If you want someone with an outside shot of being a good lefty, look at Heath Phillips. As for your 2007 list, that's just bad. You're being naive to think that even low-level prospects can reach the majors by putting up mediocre numbers. Your 2006 list, I can safely say that 3/4 if not all of those players will not produce a marginal impact in the majors. As said earlier, your 2007 list is a joke, and that's being nice.
  6. yeah, Steinbrenner killed 7 million Jews. Beat that, Hitler.

    Soulseek
  8. You'll probably see Diaz, maybe Sanders and that's about it.
  9. Could be Becker again.
  10. Matt Murton is in high-A ball for crying out loud. He is years away, calm down and stop pouting.
  11. 147 Ks, not 157.
  12. Hernandez was 12 last time, they're fair on him.
  13. Colon has given up 28, 5 more than Loaiza.
  14. Uh, to say the least! He'll be #1 on the Prospect Hot Sheet. If not, BA is in Jeff Francis' pants.
  15. Sweet Jesus of f***. 16/21 outs were by the strikeout. Prolly could have had 20. God DAMN.
  16. Matt Murton was also sent to the Cubs (from BOS).
  17. Yup, that's it boys and girls, nothing else.
  18. ...that's funny.
  19. What. The. f***. I just called Jason and everything is news to him. We'll be writing reports ASAP on this stuff once we know who EXACTLY was involved.
  20. And this thread is now officially deemed a clusterf***. Holy s***.
  21. To my understanding, you're not really "trading" per se after the deadline, just two clubs are in agreement to release players onto waivers and then pick them up. The Yankees would place Contreras on waivers and the Sox would pick him up and in turn the Sox would place Loaiza on waivers, or vice-versa.
  22. Apparently the deal was Scott Proctor, a former LA farmhand, and Contreras for Loaiza.
  23. Deals can be announced well after the 4 PM EDT deadline. The main thing is that you send the trade proposal to the Commish's office before the deadline. When RJ was traded to the Astros, the trade was announced at like 7 PM.
  24. And Rotoworld is down. Nice!
