  1. Pitched on three days rest Diaz does have some mechanical flaws (falling off to the first base side a ton), but this was his 2nd start. He'll be fine, and it's either him or maybe Rauch because Munoz will not be called up.
  2. Helton's numbers are inflated by Coors, but not by much. You put him in any other park and he will duplicate his numbers with a small dip in HRs, but an increase in 2B. But remember, getting Helton would cost you...: Konerko Honel Anderson/Sweeney/Reed (Probably take 2/3) Munoz If the deal was right, and it would be tough to do, I'd kill for Helton. He's a goddamn machine.
  3. Carlos Lee will probably never play in Toronto as long as Ricciardi is the GM there. C Lee is still too damn raw and doesn't put up great OBP or OPS numbers. Would I make this trade? God no.
  4. Sardinha is a good example, but I think he's finally hitting in AA with Detroit. Mike Ivie is the perfect example, except he was drafted out of HS (see Ben Davis).
  5. I doubt the Sox go after a position player early on, especially with this year's draft. I'd expect the Sox to go pitching heavy early and often, with maybe overdrafting Powell considering they've got an abundance of picks.
  6. More incentive for me to run her down with a milktruck. God, what a f***ing moron.
  7. I was at the game yesterday and you could easily see the fireworks.
  8. He also gave up 8 hits and 2 BBs. I'd say we was lucky rather than good today.
  9. During last offseason, I mentioned that the Sox would be wise to get Catalanotto. So of course they go get Armando Rios. Catalanotto would be a solid pickup, but I don't see him coming here.
  10. I think the reason that the Met is so big is the reason its Park Factor is above 1. Rex, I know that the Met went under some renovations over the offseason, but I'm not sure of the specifics. Move the fences around at all or just add seats kind of thign?
  11. Dumbf***, he doesn't even throw a curveball. He throws a power slider, which you probably don't even understand. His changeup looked excellent today. Sit down.

http://ytmnd.com Jason and I have been exchanging links back and forth for a few days. See what you can find.
  14. Birmingham's stadium actually has a park factor of greater than 1, meaning that it is clsoe to neutral or a slight hitter's park.
  15. I hope his elbow exploded. Schadenfreude is awesome.
  16. Bham down 4-0 in the first, Hogs destroying Salem 11-0 in the 5th. Big 10 run inning for the Hogs in the 3rd. Kanny up 3-0 in the 5th.
  17. Only my Mom and I live at home currently, so we rarely tape anything.
  18. ...f***. Now I'm going to miss seeing Diaz pitch for a few innings. Guess I'll tape this one.
  19. I know what Diaz throws. He's your basic Pedro clone from the Dominican. Can rush his fastball up to the mid 90's, power slider, and a good changeup.
  20. It's Daniel Pearl part two.
  21. As Baseball Prospectus put it: (Referring to Jon Adkins) "That he's been kept on the 40-man roster suggests that the Sox are an organization that makes up in stubbornness what it lacks in depth." If Grilli gets called up over Diaz, walked eight f***ing batters in 5 innings in his last start nonetheless, my respect for KW just flew out the window.
  22. I say Munoz is unlikely to be called up because this is his first year starting, while Diaz on the otehr hand has been starting for years. I think it would be a very big mistake for the Sox to bring up Munoz.
  23. Yeah, what an underachiever.
