Any economists or currency traders?
I'm in AP Econ and wrote a spiffy little paper about the dollar's weakening. As stated earlier, with a weak dollar Europeans can buy more because their Euro is worth more. Because of this, Net Exports will increase and the GDP should as well (Remember, GDP = Consumption + Investment + Government Spending + Net Exports). The problem is that foreign investment will plummet as a result of the weaker dollar (as well as the huge trade deficits and budget deficits). Because of the deficits, interest rates could go up which would corrolate with foriegn investors not wanting to invest in the US. With foreign investment down, the U.S. would finally have to look at the huge ass 6 trillion dollar deficit and the problems it could cause. G'bye Medicare and Social Security! Positives and negatives, as usual

This is quite possibly the worst thread to ever grace the Internet. This is downright pathetic on a colossal scale.

SAT Scores
1220 the first time, 1180 the second. The second time around, I completely forgot to do 8 critical reading questions. Sadly, I only missed 4 analogies and 4 sentence completions (I missed 11 and 9 respectively the first time around). Shrug, I already got accepted into IU, I just have to worry about being accepted into the Business school.

Jackson scouting report
No, I was saying he touches 95 at times, but usually sita at 92-93. After some bulking up I believe he could hit 97 or so while having his fastball sit comfortably at 94-95.
-
Jackson scouting report
He's already hitting 95, and he's 6'5 195. As he adds more muscle, I believe he should add more velocity. High 90's isn't out of the question.

Whoa whoa whoa, back the f***ing truck up. The kid is 18, in High-A ball, and puts up a 2.5 ERA. He then backs it up by averaging 13 K/9 IP at AA, as an 18 year old. The kid was reportedly popping 95 on the gun with his fastball, and has two offspeed pitches (curve, slider) rated well above-average. Enough with the stats, this kid projects. Most likely with some more weights and a little more muscle this kid should be hitting the high 90's with ease. Ryan Wing's 2003 campaign is flat out dogs*** compared to Miller's. Wing was 21 at High-A, and put up a far from impressive 4.15 BB/9 IP ratio, as well as an awful 1.6 K/BB ratio. His OBA was phenomenal, but as Wing progresses those walks will bite him in the ass repeatedly. Cotts had loads of control problems at High-A, as well as a low 4's ERA. Malone only made 5 starts at High-A. Honel had a very good year at W-S, but nowhere close to as good as Miller's. Simply put, Jackson and Miller project to a feared 1-2 punch at the top of a rotation. Wouldn't you want the mere thought of having Jackson, Miller, Cotts, Honel, etc. in your farm system? With that much talent, I'm willing to bet 2 or 3 will pan out quite nicely.

Valpo
Yeah, I'll be there at 8:45. Our only real challenges will be Hundo Proof, hang em' high and Sparkz. I'll be sporting the Crede jersey.

Hehe, I wouldn't fake it. My knee hurt so ungodly bad, and my ankle too. I played last night against Bellig, but only one half. The back of my knee is tight and my ankle has a nice big black and blue mark on it. When I got tied up with some kid on your team my foot didn't give way as I feel right, and my knee just kept twisting. The scream I let out was very, very real. About the Old School Cry Hards, they are a bunch of dicks. We're making new shirts when we play them, because just about our entire team hates them. Oh, and good luck tonight against Hundo Proof. I'll try and stop by.

Situations
Ugh, I'm almost leaning towards the LA trade.

Texas lowers amount of money needed
I think we'll find out tonight whether the trade will happen. The MLBPA still might get f***ed over if Bud Selig OK's the trade, which would send the deal to an arbitrator.

From 25 million to 15 million. According to ESPN's Peter Gammons, the Rangers have backed down from their demands for $25 million from the Red Sox as part of the A-Rod deal. They're now asking for $15 million. This could clear the way the trade, as it's believed that the Red Sox and the MLBPA were about $12 million to $15 million apart on a deal with Rodriguez's contract. With the 5 p.m. ET deadline passing, the trade remains a possibility.

Jackson scouting report
I am a subscriber to BA, but only the print edition. I'll type out what it says: Greg Miller - LHP, Age 19 as of Opening Day 2004, B-T: L-L, Wt: 190, 1st Round out of Lakewood, Calif. HS. Went 2-2 5.03 ERA after his first six starts, then became almost unhittable. Went to AA as an 18 year old. Can hit 95 MPH on his fastball, although it sits in the low 90s. Has the best curveball and slider in the Dodgers organization. Has an average changeup, but it's effective. Ended the season with shoulder bursitis, so there is some worry. Came close to being called up over Jackson last year. Stats: Hi A- 21 GS 116 IP 103 H 41 BB 111 SO 2.49 ERA .240 OBA AA- 4 GS 27 IP 15 H 7 BB 40 SO 1.01 ERA .156 OBA

Nah, I'm not on the baseball team. I am playing Intramurals though, as you found out last night. On the Justice League I'm Wonder Woman aka the guy who f***ed up his knee real good when we played you. As for the Cubs fans at school, you're dead on. There is not one diehard Cub fan at VHS. My best friend is a Cubs fan, so when they blew the NLCS my buddy (who is a big Sox fan) gave her and everyone s*** forever. After Soxfest I'll most likely be wearing a Loaiza jersey, so I shouldn't be too hard to spot. I'll break some of my Sox gear tomorrow, although I'm leaving my signed Crede, Borchard and Garland jerseys in the closet. I have a size 52 (I only wear a 44 lol) Buehrle jersey, so I might just wear that tomorrow.

s***, from the looks of your profile you're 15 so you have to go to VHS. What year are you? I'm a Senior and usually wear a lot of Sox stuff. I thought I was the only Sox fan at VHS!

I'm from Valpo, but I really don't follow the games that much. I actually thought the Crusaders would do pretty well this year, but I was obviously wrong.

Nomah Deal is off (original title)
Let's understand this people. You are b****ing about giving up a minor leaguer with close to no success at the big league level for an all-star shortstop and a very solid reliever?

Shit your pants poll!
My head is about to explode. I WANT NOMAHHHHHHHHHH

Nice, I just love the idea of KW sitting back and letting Dan Evans become his b****.

Top 10 Prospects
Chris Young 10? Um, no. I'd have Honel above Borchard, and Rauch is too high. Malone seems like a bit of a reach at 9, Wing seems about right. Munoz and Diaz should be up there.

Report: Sox May Have Signed Ponson
Well, we now know that KW hasn't been sitting on his hands all off-season. Although I'm not a big fan of Ponson, at least he's trying to pull something off.

Minor league Rule V
Stephenson - 4.38 ERA, bad numbers Campos - Has some upside BTW, in the major league portion of the draft the Sox drafted Jason Grilli. Put up real good numbers in AA, lost his control in AAA issuing 30 BB in 66.2 IP, but still managed a 3.32 ERA. Not a bad choice.

Graffy signs with the Royals
Royals signed infielder Tony Graffanino, who had been with the White Sox, to a two-year contract. There were a lot of teams interested in Graffanino for his defense and his skills against left-handed pitchers. The Royals will platoon him with Desi Relaford
