Guess what, I predicted this trade. Go me. Sox get Schoenweis and Doug Nickle for Gary Glover and two minor-league pitchers.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been any talks of Schoenweis being moved, but with the Angels pen stacked higher than (insert simile here), Schoenweis could be a cheap #5 starter/long reliever for the Sox.

The Sox won't add a big name starter before the deadline, like a Ponson. Instead, think along the lines of a Schoenweis or Jarvis.

You don't give up on Crede, period. Schnurstein is in Rookie ball, and it's pretty dumb to assume he'll ever make it to the bigs. I'd take on Williamson, but not Boone. Well I'm saying if its Crede and two decent (none of the top 20) involved then I'd include him. I would like to keep Crede as well. Maybe Sox make that deal and then move PK somewhere else for a starter and have Crede platoon the rest of this year and become the starter again next year (Boone plays everyday between 1st and 3rd). I'm a big fan of Aaron Boone though. Williamson would be awesome. I'd like Williams and a starter or even Williamson and Graves. If Sox aren't gonna add a starter, then why not add two killer relievers. Graves will not be moved, his contract is too big for JR to chew on. Paul Konerko will not, and should not be traded now. He's finally coming around, and trading him for a 5th starter makes no sense at all. The guy was an All-Star last year, and we're trading him so we can five good starters over four? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Rex, do you have any clue what Cotts' pitch count was in the 8th either time? Seems to me he's just running on fumes when he hits the back end of a game.

I would not bring up Cotts this year under ANY circumstances. The Sox have been bit in the ass far too ofte in the past for rushing their guys to the bigs. Let him finish out the year in AA, and then let him go to AAA, then gradually to the bigs.
