  1. Too bad ESPN left out the fact that Bryant was a complete racist. Good movie, otherwise.
  2. Gammons knows nothing, really. THEO (new BoSox GM), WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT BARTOLO COLON!@!!~!! Um, nothing really. I want Vazquez, though. YOU HEARD IT HERE, FIRST! NO ONE WANTS COLON, AND JAVIER VAZQUEZ IS A HOT COMMOTIDY! WAIT, JUST ONE MINUTE, BREAKING NEWS! I AM A DOUCHE!
  3. I thought the same thing when I noticed accquired was spelled wrong. Hence the (could be fake) addition.
  4. Our rumor of the deal close to happening, was ripped by, oh guess who.... think it's an unsubstantiated rumor from a web site that seems to have as its main writers ISU students. __________________ Torn Labrum Hey, s*** for brains, who was the first site to have the Koch for Foulke rumor? US! Eat a dick.
  5. AP) The first major trade of the 2002 Winter GM's meetings has apparently been completed. The deal which involves seven players, sends third-basemen Fernando Tatis, shortstop Orlando Cabera, catcher Michael Barrett, and right-handed pitcher Tony Armas Jr to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for right-handed pitcher Nick Neugebauer, shortstop Royce Clayton, and right-handed pitcher Ben Diggins. Montreal GM Omar Minaya had been hinting for weeks that his club needed to trim payroll. Assuming the seven player trade is approved, the Expos will clear more than 10.5 million dollars of payroll for the 2003 reason, while aquiring two talented and young pitchers in Neugebauer and Diggins. Milwaukee, which had signed Clayton earlier in the week to a one year contract with an option, aquires Tatis, Cabera, and Barrett, which will likely reconfigure their infield and offense. Tony Armas Jr will also step into a rotation that struggled with youth last season. Be skeptical about this one.
  6. Shut the f*** up, RPS. I want to see the Spin Doctor RI Wedge infomercial AS MANY f***ING TIMES AS POSSIBLE! Wewt!
  7. BTW, this deal won't happen, unless I s*** bricks of Gold. people are just making up rumors as they go, which I suspected. Someone said that Vlad and Colon go to the Yanks for Weaver, Johnson, and White to Boston who inturn sends Nomar to the Spos'. NO!
  8. Ok, Montreal must trim 15 million from their team.... We get: Colon 8.25 Million (FA after 2003) Vidro 5.5 Million (FA after 2004) Barrett 1.25 Million (Should be w/ us for several years I presume) Total cost 15 million Spos' get: C Lee (4.2 million) Garland (300K) Prospects (Miniscule) Total cost 4.5 million The Expos would still have to cut 5 million off of their payroll.
  9. Assuming you get rid of Garland... 1) Colon 2) Buehrle 3) Wright 4) Rauch 5) Ritchie? I would rather give them Wright plus, say Sanders instead of Garland. But, w/ Vidro, either Jimenez or Valentin would be gone. 1) Jimenez/Manos SS 2) Vidro 2B 3) Thomas DH 4) Maggs RF 5) Konerko 1B 6) Borchard LF 7) Crede 3B 8) Manos/Rowand CF 9) Olivio Assuming we resign Colon (haha), in 2005 we'd have 1) Colon 2) Buehrle 3) Rauch 4) Diaz/Malone/Stewart 5) Honel That'd be a f***ing evil starting rotation.
  10. I just heard this, probably bulls***, but hey, rumors are fun! A Montreal radio station is reporting that the exops are close to trading B Colon M Barrett and J Vidro to the whitesox for Carlos Lee,Jon Garland,Willie Harris and 2 minor leaguers
  11. OHHHH! RPS, I'm sending you some pics of my jersey.
  12. Draft player, keep him on 40 man, or send him back.
  13. December 16th is when everything will go down.
  14. I think KW is a competent GM. You have to admit, he has the balls to pull of the big trade that will help the etam get to the top (see Wells, Ritchie). He has made some absolutely idiotic trades (Durham for Adkins, Clayton), but has also made some very good ones (Lofton for Meaux, Diaz; Glover for Eyre, Koch for Foulke (IMO)) I think that, by the end of the meetings, we will have a new starter. I really hope his name is Pedro Astacio. But, we'd probably have to part with Lee and/or Valentin. That'd leave a big hole in the OF, with Maggs, Rowand/Harris, Borchard? Too many ifs.
  15. Vlad wouldn't want 20 mil/year, his agent isn't Scott Boras. I'd still do the trade, Vlad has the best bat in the majors, and the best arm.
  16. We would have to give them Lee. What would Lee play? CF? 3B? *shudder*
  17. Vazquez's BAA is way too high for a "good" pitcher. The only person in Montreal who I would want is Vladimir Guerrero.
  18. I'd do it if they sent us a 3B back. Or, we're assuming we could put Jimenez to SS, Hummel/Harris to 2B, and Valentin to 3B. But a lineup of Maggs, Vladdy, Konerko, and Thomas is just downright frightening.
  19. I'd do Vlad for Maggs in a heartbeat. Vlad is the best hitter in the Majors right now, without body armor of course.
  20. Don't buy Dell, Gateway, or anyone mainstream. The computer isn't too shabby, but if you want to upgrade that, you would want a new motherboard. The Front Side Bus supports CPU's of 266 MHZ, which is good, but the video only supports 32 MB, which is complete crap now-a-days. But, for a general purpose PC, it's not bad.
  21. Q: Mike Doyle from Valparaiso, IN asks: What do you think of Anthony Webster? He seems to be fairly unknown, but has put up very solid numbers in Rookie Ball, and in the Appy League. A: Phil Rogers: There's nothing not to like about Webster, which is why he's No. 3 on our list. The only question about him seems to be how much power he will develop. It will be interesting to see what kind of a year he has when he goes to full-season ball. He's ready, that's for sure. SCHWING SCHWING SCHWING!!!!
  22. Jeremy Borwn will not be coming our way, I guarantee it.
  23. For the love of emoticons, someone cut and paste this thing. I don't have my subscription yet, and I will go insane if I don't know the Top 10.
