  1. Let's not lynch KW until we find out who the other two MLers are. And remember last year when we traded Guerrier for Marte and everyone had the same reaction? Just calm down, we have more than enough closers to fill out our roster. Also, remember that both Guerrier and Valentine played in Birmingham which is a HUGE park. Also, remember we lost Valentine to Rule 5 once before, maybe KW knows something we don't (again).
  2. Not exactly. Remember, we traded Bradford for a PTBNL, and that guy was Miguel Olivo. I wouldn't be shocked to see Sanders shipped off.
  3. It seems, GASP, our team should be GOOD this year! With the addition of Koch, our pen should be fanatstic in one or two years. I'd expect Almonte, who is a Foulke clone, to be ready this year, so we're not losing anything in Foulke. In a few years, expect a BP of: Koch Valentine Almonte Ring Marte Munoz Sanders Always nice to have four closers (Ring, Koch, Valentine, Almonte) in your bullpen, no? To be honest, don't be surprised to see Sanders jettisoned to Oakland in the Koch deal. Munoz is far better than Sanders, and with Ring, and Marte being lefties, he might be dealt. Expect Wunsch to be dropped next year for Munoz. Also, looks like Frank will be back on the South Side this year. So, we should have a pretty fearsome lineup as well. 1B-Konerko 2B-Jimenez/Harris SS-Valentin 3B-Crede DH-Thomas LF-Lee CF-Rowand/Harris/Borchard RF-Maggs The only question mark is the starting rotation.
  4. How is signing a 40 year old reliever for 3.3 mil a year a "step in the right direction"? They still have gaping holes in their lineup, and Hee Seop Choi and Bobby Hill won't fill them. I'm VERY surprised Thome signed with the Phils. With no #1 ace, or slugger, the Injuns will probably place 3rd in the central this year. But, they have a great farm system, and I expect the Sox and the Tribe to compete very closely for the AL Central crown for the next half decade or so.
  5. I think the Bungles will choose Leftwich (boo! I I think we'll get Palmer.
  6. To me, that fumble was all him. But, I do admit, he has guts. Going with elbow tendinitis and sticking it out, out there. The play at the end of the first half was freaking hilarious, BTW.
  7. Sheesh. Single-handedly loses the game. Gotta love that fumble on the 1 yard line.
  8. You can't trade draft picks in baseball. With the new CBA, you can.
  9. sice carlos lee sucks doinkes bals, heis jerdsey woulkd prdobanly onlky costa loke a pennyt opr something. fufck,m youd dsrlll begateing riped off. Let's try and not post when we're drunk off our asses. Thanks.
  10. Spiff obviously forgot to take his Prozac today. Jeebus, calm down. Kile should not make it. I mean, Bert Blyleven is STILL on the ballot.
  11. When I look at the trade again, this trade doesn't make any sense. Oakland is strapped for cash, as usual. Why would they trade their closer who will make 4 million less than Foulke? They're adding salary, when they can't.
  12. All depends on who the ML is. Foulke, MJ for Koch is great, but I'm weary on the ML.
  13. If you get taht good of deals meet up with me at SoxFest I'm probably going to just stay at the Hyatt the entire weekend! Yay!
  14. Happy Belated T-Day!! Turducken > Turkey!!! Well, maybe, I've never had a turducken!
  15. Sigur Ros or Radiohead Flip a coin.
  16. Where is it in print where it says "Thome will join the Phils"? I've only heard that Thome will contact Mark Shapiro on Monday AT THE EARLIEST to tell him yay or nay. Thome will probably stay with the Tribe, and even if he doesn't, the Tribe would not have enough time to negotiate with Thomas. To be honest, I would only take Frank back if he sees Walt Hriniak. I don't care if he's bulking up, etc. He doesn't need it, he's a monster already. What he needs is a good session with Hriniak. Frank will ultimately stay here, I think. The O's won't have enough time to negotiate with him when Schu joins the O's. If I'm JR I say "Frank I'll give you a guaranteed 5 million and load it up with incentives." But, if he wants, say 8-9 f*** it. Use that money and resign Buehrle. But, a lineup with Borchard, Thomas, Ordonez, and Konerko is just evil.
  17. This would be an absolute fleecing by the Yanks. The Yanks have a horrible Farm System, and Rivera isn't THAT good of a prospect. If I were the Spos, I'd be asking for Brandon Claussen, Johnson, and Rivera. I wouldn't give the 'Spos Harris, IMO. harris has way too much potential, and can fly down the line. Also, they wouldn't go for Liefer or Wright over El Duque or Johnson. You'd have to give them C Lee, and a good prospect (prolly Malone) with an INF (Hummel, Sandoval, etc). But, if the 'Spos would ask: "Lee, Malone, Hummel/Sandoval for Colon and a throwin" I'd take it, ONLY if we would lockup Colon long term. If we're getting Colon for 1 year, f*** it. I'd rather trade C Lee for a decent pitcher than blow away a good amount of talent for a guy on a decent team.
  18. Buehrle said he was seeking roughly 3 million a year, during the season. I would have offered him 4 yrs, 15 million on the spot. I'm a generous GM
  19. Errr, no. Buehrle, Konerko, and Ordonez game worn jerseys are about 300 bucks and up. The only ones I saw that were cheap, were ones of nobodies (ala McKay Christensen).
  20. I have stumbled upon authentic Ordonez, Buehrle, and Konerko jerseys (1917 style) for around 60 bucks and lower which is dirt cheap. If interest shoot me an email at
  21. Because of Wunsch's funky delivery, he can only be a LOOGY (Lefty One Out GuY). It was a good signing, and I would want Kelly up there to get a LeftHander out. Yes, he is probably one of the best situational lefties in the game.
  22. Rauch has great command. The latter part of the year he threw his slider and fastballs for strikes very consistently. I still say Rauch is a good ROY canidate.
  23. Three players are on the Mayaguez Indians. Borchard .227 66 AB 0 HR 22 SO 17 BB .383 OBP Valentin .184 3 HR 20 SO 12 BB .333 SLG Harris .295 3 3B .356 OBP Nothing special.
  24. Rauch's curve is far superior to Biddle's. I'd take that Yakker anyday over Biddle's.
