Never place your eggs in one basket. Koch, we know, can close. Ring MIGHT be able to close, and hey, if you have a setup guy who has closer stuff, it makes it a 7 inning game
-
Edwin Almonte, Royce Ring, Dave Sanders, Arnie Munoz. Shrug, he was expendable.

King of the Hill?!??!?! WORST COMEDY....EVER. "Here's an idea: Let's portray a guy in Texas, and then have retarded stories that in the end give you a moral lesson!" Mike Judge, go back to making Beavis and Butthead.

Quite possible the worst compilation of music I have ever seen. Jeebus, ever listen to anything NON-Mainstream?

So KW controls which pitcher or batter enters the game, who pinch runs? Uh huh, sure.
-
You don't. You hit the stats button on the left sidebar and then select Fall/Winter leagues. BA is worth the moeny, though.

Palmeiro would be availble for us. Give him 1.5 million, and I think he'd sign.

The 'Number 1 farm System' in baseball two years ago is not in the top 10 now. How many of those players are helping the MLB team? This is too easy. Buehrle, Garland, Bradford (later traded for Olivo), Aaron Rowand, Dan Wright, etc etc. About Crede. He had a very, very long swing back in 2000, and 2001. It would have been detrimental to bring him up with the swing that he had. And Liefer outdoing Lee? Borchard ready? Are you taking hits off of soxfan420's bong? C Lee can actually walk every now and then, while Liefer can't do a thing. It's far too easy to tie Liefer up insider with an average fastball. Borchard is NOT ready. He only hit .245 in Puetro Rico with no power at all. He had a ton of strikeouts, as usual, but did draw more walks, which was shown by his .377 OBP. His SLG was .371, that's not good for Winter Ball. He needs another half year in Charlotte, and why not, because according to you, we'll only be a medicore team. And don't go off on blaming the bad records of the past two years on KW. Do you have your ehad shoved up Gandhi's ass? Manuel makes a morgue look like a f***ing Club. Manuel is stoic, and when your team is getting their ass kicked, you need to show emotion. Manuel just sits calmly, and does nothing. Want to end the problems? Start from Manuel, THEN work your way up.

Rocky Biddle should be a starting pitcher...
Cerbaho-WG replied to mac9001's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Listening to Daver, are we? Wright has three pitches, and that's being generous. He rarely throws his change, and his slider is as flat as a table. -
Just think if that bastard was in power over Saddadm. He'd make the Kurdish massacre look like an accident.

Ritchie isn't THAT bad. I'd actually want him back here for 2003. -
DePodesta was named the #1 "GM Prospect" from someguys at the WInter Meetings according to BA.

I don't know about Biddle. The instant he pitches great, he blows out his arm. He has great stuff, and should be given an opportunity to becoems the #5 starter. Also, Jon should have a good, solid season this year. Now that Nardi is cast away, he can finally pitch to his strengths. -
You fail to realize a bunch of things in your barrage of questions: 1) All of KW's drafted players are in or below A-Ball. I believe the Honel draft was his first, correct me if I'm wrong. Bristol won the Appy title, and Birmingham won the SL title, even though only Olivo and Eason were products of KW. Last year the Sox were ranked #9 throughout baseball, and I believe this year they are #10-#15. I haven't seen BA rank them just yet. As I said earlier, all of the KW draftees are several years away, don't go whining about how no one has come up when he's been the GM for the draft for two years. Crede was blocked by Clayton, and didn't Schueler wait just as long to not bring Crede up? Liefer blows goats, he's nothing. Borchard needs more seasoning, unless you want him to be rushed to the bigs as well. Didn't Schu rush Garland, Wells, Ginter, Wright, etc to the big leagues at least one year too soon?

Baseball America actually asked a bunch of people at the Winter Meetings, who was the best "GM Prospect". from the Sox organization, Bob Fontaine Jr and Duane Shaffer were mentioned once.

KW hasn't made a trade like that, I doubt he'll get such a great deal as Evans did for Odalis unless you're Billy Beane. I'd hardly cosnider LA a better franchise than we are, right now. They spend around 50 million more per year than we do at the Major-League level, and that's probably why they have a better record. The Shuey trade will bite Evans on the ass, Rodriguez was the Dodgers #1 prospect, and Cruceta was just as solid. Also Ncorgbl, the Sox's farm under KW hasn't been as bad as you make it out to be. The reason it's status has dropped was mainly because Schueler's "wave" of prospects made it. Under KW we've drafted such guys such as Anthony Webster, Andy Gonzalez, Edgar Valera, Danny Haigwood, Brandon McCarthy, Ryan Rodriguez, Mich Schnurstein, etc. Would you like me to go on?

Hate to break it to you, but the only two choices we had for GM were KW or Dan Evans. Pick your poison. evans is light years ahead of KW...atleast he can keep his berries straight Yeah, trading your top two prospects for Paul Shuey makes you light years ahead of KW. That's like tarding Rauch and Honel for a good solid reliever. or trading wells and fogg for ritchie?? show me a similiar trade that KW made that was a successful as sheffield for jordan/perez???... has any of those prospects paid any dividends for cleveland yet???...what happens if both flop???...then was it such a bad trade??..evans made a move to win last season..didnt work out but atleast he tried...in '01 when the sox had a chance to make a move to go after cleveland we ended up trading james baldwin for guys that arnt even in the organization anymore...we didnt even take the chance of winning and got absolutely nothing in return...yeah..kw is great when dave dombroski resign from the marlins as gm on nov 4, 2001 and then sign on with det on may 10 2002. noone can tell me that the sox couldn't have gone after him and get him aboard. the only positive dividend that has paid off in ref to trades has been marte and the if we got, jimmenez. What are you smoking? Cruceta and Rodriguez already made it to the bigs last year, along with Cliff Lee and Brandon Phillips, who were accquired from MTL. Not to mention Billy Traber who was accquired from NYM for Roberto Alomar. Also, getting a reliever isn't exactly looked upon as trying to win it all in most circles. EDIT: Traber didn't make it last year, whoops.

I would tend to agree with you pre-strike, and during the Albert Belle era. He "seemed" like he was going to live up to the "I'd trade my NBA rings...", but after the strike, he came up with the attendance excuse. Someone kidnap JR, and bring in Mark Cuban. The mere thought of him running onto the field during a brawl would make me go to every home game. i agree with that..something happened to JR...its like the disdain that has developed between him and the fans is what drives him nowadays..its almost like he wants to punish us for the attendance problems...its time for JR to sell...is mark cuban a baseball fan??? I thought I heard Cuban say that he wouldn't rule out owning another team.

1999, check his stats.
-
Probably Hillenbrand, Fossum, prospect.
-
evans is light years ahead of KW...atleast he can keep his berries straight a little later when everybody how much kw is over his head, dave dombski (sp) was available and for a long time as well. JR wouldn't hrie Dave Dombrowski, he would only hire within the organization, and I believe Dave was with the Marlins.
