I think the opposite. If they get Soto they’re going to want to upgrade pitching with limited money and one less open spot on the field for prospects to fill. If they don’t get Soto they can reallocate those funds to a Fried, Burnes, etc and plug LF internally.
It achieves getting a player that could contribute to the next possible winning team, which is the whole point. But it doesn’t matter because I don’t see a scenario in which the Yankees would do this.

The Braves just signed superstar Jose Devers. The Rays, Jays, Royals, Reds have all made similar deals in the past few days. You’re either being ignorant or disingenuous.

Anything with Bohm makes me wonder if he’d be packaged with Crochet to the Red Sox (who want to moved Devers to 1b) with the Sox sending Robert to Philly for some combination of prospects from both teams (mostly Boston).
This would be my target from Boston, or De Paula and Hope from LA.
