QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 02:28 AM) Kane is on another level right now. Maybe that bulls*** focused him a bit more on what's important in his life. i agree 100 % .... i think that crap that happen to him, may have open his eyes and gave him a shot of reality. tie game 1-1 nj goal against the hawks 1st line.

QUOTE (daggins @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 02:58 AM) They shouldn't have given him a QO. Padres shouldn't have given Kennedy a QO; given this news, I would say he is almost certain to accept. Kendrick might accept too. oh i agree there are going to be some players accepting that QO. now i see some others accepting them just to rebuild their value.

opening period, 6 min into the game Kane scored assist by Toews and Tevo

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 02:54 AM) 100% agree. I probably overvalue Sale a little bit but everyone here seems so down on him right now and I don't get why. probably with drawls b/c of no baseball.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 10:52 PM) How quickly we give up on talent. Garcia has been injured and last season was really his first full season with us. The hitting coach sees something he can work with and I remember Garcia himself saying he knows he has to improve. Identify what that is, as has apparently been done, and let's see what happens. Everybody talks about a rebuilding and Garcia is also a part of that as any young player might be as they gain experience. I know we all want our players to bat 1.000 with 100 homers, but that isn't going to happen. Let's be a bit more patient and supportive. maybe someone with baseball experience can answer this, is there a way to help improve pitch recognition?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) Which is great for you, at least 2 more years of the same post b****ing about how Reinsdorf has ruined White Sox fans' lives. And it's not just being under .500 for 5 years, it is being god awful for 5 years or more. The Cubs had Schwarber and Bryant on the field as their draft picks this year. That is a #4 overall and a #2 overall. KC had Gordon, Moustakas and Hosmer, a #2, #2, and #3. don't get me wrong, i am not trying to be antagonistic about this, but what are your opinion on this and the sox fo???

this is a really great idea. i wish i can participate, but my thoughts really go left of fantasy and i wouldn't know what would be a realistic idea or a wish. keep up the great work.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 11:11 PM) The problem isn't Levine, its that most Sox fans do not know how to speak Levine. An interpretation of this article can be much different if one learns to read between the Levine lines. What I got from the article is that the Sox trade LaRoche and minor league scraps for Arenado, trade Melky/Cream of Sumyoungguy + prospects for Trout, Danks/ EJ and more minor league scraps for Correa/McCullers/ Keuchel, SD gives the Sox Norris for cash considerations, Thompson/Robertson to Wash for Harper/Turner (plays 2B for Sox), Sox sign Heyward to an 8/200M contract, Sox also sign Chris Davis to a 4/league minimum contract just because Davis is in " win now" mode and finally the Sox sign Mark Buehrle to go on a whirlwind magic mystery tour for his final MLB season where he shakes hands with the masses and kisses babies in White Sox onesies. Y'all just don't understand Levine. hahaha..... the comedy is on tonite.

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) Sox aren't shelling out big money for a 5 year deal on a shortstop with Tim Anderson making his way toward MLB. i agree, even if he meant if 1. anderson can't make the ss or 2. moving Ian to 3b.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) You said "Jesus." Aren't you aware that that is offensive to some people? not for me, being hispanic. i thought he meant you know hay-zeus. phonetically speaking

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) Hahn's quotes seem to be different from the "all in" type of rhetoric we heard last offseason. So a change in strategic philosophy? Intentionally tempering expectations for 2016? Does this mean trading away Quintana? There are no rumors going around so this is the best I have to ponder over. trading Q will always be an option. now maybe moreso than before.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) On the contrary - that's exactly the message he's conveying. When he talks about a template to "praise" or "emulate" that involves a record below .500 for a "minimum of five years", then that's him realigning our expectations, big time. Gladly (if you can actually use that word this way), to your point, we are not starting that rebuild right now. Many aspects of a rebuild started in 2013, stalled only by last offseason's activity. But in resuming those rebuild efforts now, by the time this team is competitive again, given the current state of the team, "half of a decade" and maybe then some will have been "punted". Think 2013 to whichever the next year is that we'll be competitive after this rebuild is complete. Unless you think rebuild efforts involving obtaining young, cost-controlled players will somehow make us competitive in the next couple of years. and that is what i am hoping it means.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) There was no questioning of your fandom in my post. I legitimately just thought you were a Stars fan, so I was joking about the loss to the Marlies last night. If you are not, then OK, I'll save my jokes for one of the other 78 people in the state of Texas that care about hockey. that is funny.

QUOTE (spiderman @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) I do think it's a mistake to be making decision (specifically strategic decisions that could impact the club for a decade) around how the Cubs are performing. if the sox were the only team in this city, no.... but this club had a WS ring and yet this team plays 2 nd fiddle. why??? i have voiced my ideas. i really don't really want to rehash my lost faith in the owners and the FO. so the answer to your question is yes, they have to keep an eye on the golden ring and not let the media and popularity get too far out of reach. those remaining die hard fans are finding it a rough time keeping the faith.

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) so you guys think these are phony quotes or is it that Hahn's words were not intended to convey any message. quotes and misquotes can be taken out of any quotations that is given. i believe when he said that the sox are trying to do it quickly. that i believe. now come what i choose to believe in or in this case what not to believe. the rest. for me it was probably meant to say that most rebuilds takes x amount of yrs and the sox knows this but are trying to do it faster. until a second, third source are saying the same thing, i chose not to believe in levine stories.

QUOTE (spiderman @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) What we don't know is how satisfied Rick Han is with his core group of players. If he is satisfied with that group, they may not be as aggressive in free agency. In referring to the template that KC, Cubs and Pittsburgh took, he's only acknowledging that there are different options to rebuild. I think he's more interested in the express rebuilding plan. The White Sox are a top heavy club - some stars and excellent building blocks with Sale, Quintana, Rodon, Robertson, Abreu, Melky Cabrera, Eaton and maybe a few of their bullpen arms. That's maybe 10-12 guys if we stretch it a bit and there are major deficiencies in defensive play and offense. Are they going to be able to add 5-7 useful players to the roster that can contribute to a 2016 roster without dipping into free agency? Unlikely. I would expect them to add 3-5 players in free agency (some of them could be bargain shopping that they hope to get value from), and a trade could bring immediate help in 1-2 spots as well depending on their level of aggression. Overall, it would be surprising to me if the Sox didn't have an active off-season since this is a team NOT taking the 5 year rebuilding path. a really nice post. for this discussion only, i really like this idea of it is a full blown rebuild after last yr disaster, then the sox really have a great group to assemble many prospects. however, i can see that the sox really can't do that and again it is b/c of the success of the northside team. they can not let them get more entrenched with the idea of success and that team.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) so is he insinuating that now it is a 5 yr plan instead of 3 yr ????? is it safe to assume that it is now yr what of how many, year 2 or 5 or is it now 5 more yrs??? i guess i am just as bad as levine, i am making a pun of his article to stir the pot.... i admit it. but really, can't a professional reporter do a better job??

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 07:51 PM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/11/11/lev...ebuilding-mode/ “Last year we saw the opportunity to be aggressive and address certain areas of need,” Hahn said. “We wanted to build around the core we had. In the future, you would want your core to be bigger and activity in free agency being a little less.” “We are trying to do this (rebuild properly) as soon as possible,” Hahn said. “If you look at the teams right now that you would praise or emulate — Houston, Kansas City, the Cubs and Pittsburgh — they all spent a minimum of five years under .500. They did it by the draft, trades and international signings. So there is a template out there that shows it takes time.” so is he insinuating that now it is a 5 yr plan instead of 3 yr ????? is it safe to assume that it is now yr what of how many, ye 2 or 5 or is it now 5 more yrs???

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) Of course there is a hierarchy of what we want, but that doesn't mean you don't make other moves that improve the team. uh... what ever

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 04:16 AM) Tyler Flowers was our best defender: http://sabr.org/sdi/2015-final If the Sox want to get better quickly this offseason, first order of business is the outfield defense. Absolutely atrocious showing by those 3 in 2015. i really think the first order of business is a 3b man then maybe a outfield in the others needs to address.
