i was reading kw response to mark b comments. yup the loyalty thing is what it is all about. imo. the sox gave him a chance and this is how you repay him.

all i know is that kw did ok. he really didn't duck anything, but he does have a temper. you can read it when he said about getting a grip etc.... one thing i did notice is he uses a alot of distraction in not answering the question but hedge around the question. you will see this in the question; Q: You have a reputation of being a hands-on general manager, interacting with players, coaches and manager al most daily at home and on the road. Do you plan to continue that approach? A: That reputation is greatly exaggerated. I get in the locker room to have a conversation to see that we are on the same page. The same way with any of the coaches' needs and concerns. I may stay out to watch batting practiceand I may not. One thing people have to understand, I was player development director and most of the players on our team came up our system. No one else in the organization can say that. We draw upon what our experiences are to get them over the hurdle. It's hands-on to that degree he really never answered the question.

The Sox AA club, the Birmingham Barons, are looking like they are going to have a lousy team this year. Most of our top prospects are either in AAA, with the big club, or in the low minors. I take it....... Malone, Diaz, West, Arnie, Sanders.......etc are all going to charlotte? Too bad all their records are gonna suck.......because hitting is pretty weak up there..... Maybe with the addition of Holt, a healthy Jb, and a healthy Mario Velenezulea (SP?) they can do som damage. Malone is going to be in AA still. He's got to prove he can pitch there and that he's 100%. I think he'll rebound and have a pretty good season. That guy has a very high ceiling and can be a devasting lefty in the rotation. his rep is that 1 yr he does good and the next he doesn't The problem with Malone last year was control and an injury. The control stems back to an injury as well as the fact that he is still pretty raw. Otherwise, people didn't hit Malone much. The year before Malone had a huge jump as he started to figure things out. The guy will be a slower mover strictly because the Sox will have to teach him more things, mainly mechanically, but stuff wise he's right there with Diaz, imo, except he's got a bigger build, which lends me to believe his body will be able to harness his stuff. Something that is a big questionmark when it comes to Diaz, whose very small in stature, much like Juan Cruz, Ramon Ortiz, and Pedro Martinez. either way, this tier of pitchers are exciting and i can't wait to see them in action.

" question...doesnt bullard have a higher upside then guys like ring,almonte,and munoz??...i dont know much about bullard other than he has put up good number everywhere he has pitched but when you talk about upside you are talking about as far as a guy can go...any starter in the minors should have a higher upside then a reliever because alot of starters become relievers but very few go the other way..and starting pitching is more of a premium... to look at it another way..if ring cant make in his role..game over..if bullard cant make it as a starter he can always make the move to the bullpen..eric gagne comes to mind in this respect...never had it as a starter..but now is closing for the dodgers...btw..thats another of KW's screw ups everyone forgets about....howry for gagne was a done deal..till williams said he wanted another prospect from the dodgers... That type of s*** really pisses me off about some message boards. If you disagree with a main poster, or "popular" moderator, or the site creator and all of a sudden their cronies come to their aid whether they are correct or not. This happened to me on a Disney related message board. A friggin Disney board banned me!!! I can't say that I've had any trouble on WSI and I've had some good baseball discusions there but I am starting to see some sarcastic responses to people who make comments that aren't excepted by the majority. Disney banned you!!!!!!!! oh man that is funny.

since we won't need the 5 th starter until a month later, i think rauch will be in the minors, with loaiza making the team. i say that rauch will come up sometime in june or july making the 5th starter being loaiza.

i remember reading a story on a player who came into the yanks clubhouse wearing his favorite home team baseball cap, the players were offended. you don't do that, when you are with a team you cheer, talk them up and support them. you don't go and say that you want to play elsewhere. last yr he said the same thing even before the money became an issue. mark b is wrong on this and most of you do not want to see it. its either b/c of the handling of kw, the rep of jr or whatever. he is wrong for saying this.
