  1. What KW did to MB last season, salarywise, was "not classy" either. he is the property of the sox and if kw played within the rules that has been establish then why is it a problem. again i make the comparision of another player and this time someone who is a fringe player, would you or anyone be as upset as you are now? baseball has some uncertian rules that you are not to step on. what mark did was trample on them.
  2. ref to valentin, cotts is going to be judge if this was a deal breaker or not. then again, what happen if koch either does great or not will the performance of foulke will play a part in that as well.
  3. same thing in my books. you owe loyalty to the team that got you there. as a matter of law, and of business, not the same thing at all. I think if you were in MB's situation you'd feel differently. Loyalty goes both ways. KW could show some. ref to the law, he is sox property for 3 or 4 more yrs. ole well that is the breaks. i am different in my way of thinking on a lot of issues. first i am a mark b fan and wish him well. but when you start saying what he has, then i get a little put off. next i started this post to get the conversation goiing for the soxfest and to take up some lag time. but most importantly if i can change something in baseball, it would be the contract. lets have it as a performance laden contract where how you do determines your money. you do good then the money is good, if not then you don't get the money. saying what he said about going to stl is not b/c of the money, its b/c he wants to be there and as a fan, i say then if he doesn't want to be part of the team. trade him and lets get the best we can, and lets do this after this season. There is no way in hell I can fault Mark Buerhle for this. how many players have favorite teams or a home town team. yet when they are drafted by another team, you hardly hear them say some of the things that mark has in 2 banquets. esp asking at one to bring him home. that is not classy.
  4. if that is the other ss, that is good. thanks
  5. i don't know if that was called for. in the trib, he didn't back away from what he said. that was not kool to do what he did to fizer in the press
  6. damn either way i think we are possibly looking at the infield of the future with andy gonazales missing. don't the sox have 2 other ss that are talked about, mike morse or something like that and another that was drafted?

    KW

in todays trib, jan 30, i saw an article about kw. >>>> Land another lefty? Williams has been in touch with the agents for veterans Chuck Finley and Kenny Rogers, but both are believed to be too rich for the Sox's blood i will give him credit and if they are too much then i agree with him on this one. in the same article they mention that kw will give josh stewart a chance to beat out rauch as the 5 th starter.
  10. same thing in my books. you owe loyalty to the team that got you there.
  11. YES!!!!!!!!! i am going to save this. great info to have.
  12. 1. where are some of these players will be next yr? micah scnurstein, edgar varela, ryan reed, pedro lopez, brendon bounds, thomas brice? 2. does anybody know anything about bounds?
  13. MB doesn't have a contract now, does he? he's not asking for anything to be renegotiated - all we are talking about is a new contract for this year. I for one do not ever offer to give money back when I have a bad spell at work! I think players do take lesser amounts after bad years, just usually not with the same team. Hence, JB signes with KC for less than he had from Seattle or less than he had with us and LA. Royce (eveyone's favorite) took a pay cut going to Milwaukee. Players do take less, just not normally with the same team. ok how bout those who are in a middle of the contract? mb is in the middle of his contract. what are you talking about?
  14. btw jas and the other mod's, have you ever found the list of the top 25 sox prospect that you did last yr? i know when you tranferred from the old server to this one you may have lost some of the info.
  15. i hope someone would start the hornets nest going by asking kw about the mark b comments and the rumor of how he treated mark b now and in the past in ref to the contract.
  16. The Sox brought MB up not to do a kid a favor but to win. And MB has won, has been the ace of our staff. Stiffing him for the $15,000 last year was incredible, and to offer him the same contract as last year is, to me, disloyal to a player who ahs done everything that he ahs been asked to do. As for Rowand - if Rowand has a good a two years as MB, yes, then I would say pay AR. But AR hasn't had it yet, so no, for now. What else do any of us work for? a contract is a contract. do you see a player when he has 2 bad yrs giving any money back or asking to take a pay cut b/c of it?
  17. well this weekend you will have a chance to say some things to kw this weekend./
  18. i wonder if that will help the players possible case for collusion?
  19. when your home team let you go for 37 rounds and the another team picked you up, you should be loyal to that team. the sox gave him a CONTRACT, money and help develop him and what does he do, go and ask stl to get him back there. how bout the fans who are backing him. what would your reaction be if rowand would ask for the same consideration of more money. would you have the same reaction. the answer will be no. why? b/c mark did well in pitching.
  20. ok i went and got the link http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ar...ia/x29-ard1.htm
  21. it would be sweet if jr or kw.
  22. Finally someone who agrees with me on that stadium. Its a freakin dump. They should blow the damn thing up and build a new stadium right now. its part of history comeon it may be a dumb but it is history.(i've never been there so can't really judge it) i agree, its a baseball park that is part of history. look at what happen when comiskey(sp) came down.
  23. not sure I get what you mean here - i was scouring one of the chi newpaper and i saw kw reaction to mark b comments in stl.
  24. http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0130/1501358.html i mean hitting the guy in the head with the bat.
