  1. Lol...I do think that right now Frank is just getting his state of mind back and he's working to get into great shape. He'll be ready by the start of the season looking to play. I also don't see him walking, at worse case, the Sox will give him more money. JR and Thomas have a great relationship and it will allow the Sox to keep him as long as he's productive. what ever happen to the babes diet of getting into shape for b-ball. what was it..... beet and steak.
  2. there is a guy who is working for billy beane that i am very interested in. damn i can't remember his name, but i hear that he is the right hand man for beane.
  3. oh please tell that he is getting fire!!!! pls. :metal
  4. kip going to pit help his career and yes nardi screwed him. fogg was a 500 pitcher for pit last yr, what was ritchie? ritchie is not going to be playing for us. he will prob go back to the nl. imho that will be a move for him. now we have nothing to show for that trade just as we have nothing for the trade for ray d. btw i was always against this trade. i would like to see marte do well again, esp with runners on in a close game?
  5. they are willing to unload hitchcock for nothing as well as pettite. are they worth a look at from the sox?

    Eddie Jones

oh man this can't happen. i really don't think that a eddie jones personality is what we need
  7. I'm trying to get the point across that the Yankess ruin competitve balance. Did they really need Contreras, or Matsui? No, but did the Red Sox need them? Of course they did. The Yankess simply buy everything to ensure their own dyansty. And you think that this is all hunky-dory and good for baseball? You deserve the name calling, because you just don't get it. I try and lay out the scenario and you just shrug it off and say how Steinbrenner is caring about winning blah blah. You just don't get it. so you really think that anyone that disagrees with you deserves to be called names???...you really need to rethink how you relate to people as for the skanks...you act like you are surprised the yankees are still doing business as usual....did you really think a luxary tax would stop king george???...the yankees have been doing business this way long before king george was on the scene...before the detroit's and kc's it was teams like the washington senators and st louis browns that were the yankee farm system...been going on for 80 some years now.. the owners had their chance and blew it..they should have forced a strike and held out for a hard salary cap and a 50% share in tv and merchandising revenue instead of the 22% it is at right now...because the owners didnt have the balls to take on the union it will be business as usual for atleast the next 4 years you want change??...it wont come until we get a hard salary cap...something about a baseball team that drives good business men to make moronic financial decisions that ruin it for everyone but isn't it most owners dreams to build a dynasty? to win and put together a winning team, in spite of the what others think. anyway i guess he doesn't know when someone is trying to put irony in a rebuttal.
  8. do you think that the report out of pit was true, about them about to let him go? either way, he did a decent job, now to make sure he comes in on the ideal situation.
  9. Hate to break it to you, but the only two choices we had for GM were KW or Dan Evans. Pick your poison. evans is light years ahead of KW...atleast he can keep his berries straight Yeah, trading your top two prospects for Paul Shuey makes you light years ahead of KW. That's like tarding Rauch and Honel for a good solid reliever. or trading wells and fogg for ritchie?? show me a similiar trade that KW made that was a successful as sheffield for jordan/perez???... has any of those prospects paid any dividends for cleveland yet???...what happens if both flop???...then was it such a bad trade??..evans made a move to win last season..didnt work out but atleast he tried...in '01 when the sox had a chance to make a move to go after cleveland we ended up trading james baldwin for guys that arnt even in the organization anymore...we didnt even take the chance of winning and got absolutely nothing in return...yeah..kw is great when dave dombroski resign from the marlins as gm on nov 4, 2001 and then sign on with det on may 10 2002. noone can tell me that the sox couldn't have gone after him and get him aboard. the only positive dividend that has paid off in ref to trades has been marte and the if we got, jimmenez.
  10. evans is light years ahead of KW...atleast he can keep his berries straight a little later when everybody how much kw is over his head, dave dombski (sp) was available and for a long time as well.

    Bulls are getting tougher

i would like to see more improvements so we can trade his arse.
  12. i like this asst coach way of thinking. nice article from the times. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sports/cst-spt-bull26.html
  13. when someone is in that position, you should know what you are doing. i am for the affirmative action in promoting him. but if he was qualified. you had some other good people out there. i am not talking about evans, even tho he might have been qualified than kw. kw admitted that he went against peoples opinion in trading for clayton, b/c he still thought he could trade him later.
  14. we are in a desperate need for a cf. tor was at one entertaing offer for shannon stewart(sp). that would have been sweet, he is good enuf to play it. how bout jose cruz jr, why not him?
  15. i think this was the best deal for both sides to agree on. why is it only football have the cap and we have not heard of any major complaints.
  16. Ding Ding Ding Ding! Marte was lights out when coming in with no runners on base. If he inherited runners, he was about as effective as a 10x10 hole in Hoover Dam. i knew it, i posted that statement before and got flame for it. so i am glad i was seeing things differently. whew.
  17. oh i didn't blame him, we got a decent prospect in return. it was the pot shots that was said about him from the sox side.
  18. let start this whole thing all over again from the beginning and lets keep a score card. like this we won't get confuse, :metal:headbang:)
  19. oh i am going to get flame so here it is. i think jr is not a bad owner. he may have some misguided loyalities (kw), but i am sure that he will spend the money if he knew that we can win a ring. he was never cheap in that category. the thing is, we need some smart people to run the team and get us there. until then i can see why he won't spend the cash.
  20. after the way he left, the words that was exchange, i doubt that he will come back here. even tho i would like to give another chance to redeem himself. if that is the case, why not get rickey henderson?
  21. but lets look at one of jr's gripes, fan in the stands. when the sox were winning and playoff bound, yes the fans came out. put out there another yr of improvement and pick up a key fa, continue to win and you will see more fans in the stands. its not that hard to figure, you have a winning team, you will get the support. put a halfhearted attempt to shore up your teams, the fans will see this and will turn on them.
  22. bottom line, here is an owner who is willing to outbid anybody and is willing to to have pay a tax in order to win. i can live with that. one does not have to go penny to penny with him, but go after someone who can bridge the gap and help us win the championship. we have most of the pieces in place. btw i was reading an article that states the price of fa is down compare to what it was last yr. i think it was on espn, i didn't post it b/c some of the name mention was not even on the same team that was being reported. it is being lazy not correcting the error.
  23. May have shown? That's the nice way of putting it LDF . Of course, if some of the youngsters KW traded for pan out, I'll change my opinion of KW somewhat. But I don't see that happening anytime in the near future. by all acct i only see 1 prospect turning out to be somethiing and i think it that diaz kid. what gets me is this. what was pitt seeing in marte that they were going to release him, according to the sportwriter in pitt. he comes here and does real well. but i do remember seeing him that when he came in with runners on base, he didn't do too well.
  24. I wasn't saying you weren't LDF. I just agreed with everything you said except for the last sentence. It's too bad some can't make their point without belittling a fellow Sox fan. my bad and i am sorry if what i wrote came across the wrong way. i didn't mean it too.
