  1. More than likely the case as bags has said, he has done enuf for the sox in the pr way. if he misses the soxfest and does what he needs to do to get to his old self, i am all for it. i am still a big hurt backer.
  2. well i like to see that learning curve. he is what we are stuck with like it or not and i will give him credit when i see it. until them i will respect your opinion.
  3. what you say is somewhat true, but we are talking about establishing or reestablishing one rep. kw may have shown that he can be had in some trades

Are Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the sequel? "KICK HIS ASS SEABASS!!!!!" :metal this summer is going to have a lot of kick butt movies. i was and still not a fan of dumb and dumber movies as well as a jim carey fan. but he is making a movie that even i think may be funny. it about him having god like powers.
  8. alot of site, when the trade went down explained how the trade went down or the fine details. i usually kept alot of the trades and i rely on espn, cbs and BA. is there a specific question, i am sure these guys here know it.
  9. so am i and i am a huge baseball fan as i think most are who post here.
  10. didn't everybody cheer and wanted there team to beat the yanks? yes My God, you're dumb. You miss the point completely, yet again. there you go showing how much of an ass hole you really are. i will never answer any of you post again. you can't put a rebuttal together without swearing or putting someone down. you are in a real serious problem of trying to show how much smarter than you are than everybody else. why even post here in the first place you moron. :****
  11. yes if the other team, regardless of who, doesn't come up with the players to meet you demand. it beats paying almost 90% of his salary and recieve a minor leaguer who will amount to nothing. oh yeah that is good thinking here and we still have to pay this guy salary to boot. excellant trade.
  12. didn't everybody cheer and wanted there team to beat the yanks? yes
  13. its an old article that resurface. i was catching up on my old reading. sorry.
  14. there are several questions that comes to mind will they make money this yr? answer is yes. will the fans be in the stands? the answer is yes. will they make the playoff? the answer is yes and they might go deep in the playoff. is that money a good investment and return for the dollar? the answer is yes.
  15. in that case do not trade him and let him walk at the end of the season. period
  16. my point is still this. who cares about the compensation issue. i would never have traded durham, if billy beane didn't pony up with more prospects. play hard ball and if not, then let him walk, even without any comp.
  17. you may well be right, i was just doing some old reading that i wasn't able to do. now its catch up on the sports.
  18. last i remembered, there was a mixed up in the compensation for fa. here is the writing. So draft-pick compensation for losing major league free agents remains in effect, and the new compensation structure for failing to sign a first-round pick–which could have gone a long way in curbing bonuses, a longtime management goal–has been tabled. so the question goes back why make the trade with oak involving durham.
  19. according to BA on top lefthanders, in the closer prospects. here is 2 sleepers that they have listed. >>>Sleepers: Jason Dellaero, White Sox; Brooks Kieschnick, White Sox did anyone posted the top prospect in the minors from BA?
  20. Rauch isn't exactly a prospect...he's had considerable time at the major league level....about 2 months worth....or in other words, a third of a season. My top 5 are: 1. Honel 2. Malone 3. Diaz 4. Stewart 5. Almonte & Munoz Honel has the most upside, Malone is the next closest thing we have to becoming a full time starter in the minors, Diaz has wicked good stuff and is Pedro-like(though injury prone), Stewart is a good lefty pitcher that can start and relieve, but will do what is right for the team when he comes up, and Almonte and Munoz tie because Almonte is a good righty relief prospect and Munoz is a good lefty....both have a lot of upside as being solid bullpen pitchers, though Munoz could be a pretty good starter, assuming he has 4 good pitches(maybe a changeup, two fastballs and his curve, or maybe a change, a fastball, a curve ball and a slider...something like that). I am really looking forward to watching these guys pitch at the big league level. munoz has a off the table falling curve ball that is just wicked. his prob is not getting another pit, but building up some strength to go 100+ pit which he can't do. ref to honel. he is the next real prospect in the minors. taking nothing away from malone.

you might be right, but i wonder if that is true. i will not dispute you on this subject. however, in ref to the last cat, we were close to signing him, but the difference was i think something like 500, 000 dollors. the cf was a 4 rounder who wanted 2 round money. he fell b/c some thought he really wanted to go to lsu. weaver had boras from the beginning and we really had no chance to really sign him.

i was with you on miller but not davis. look at what he is doing with the clips.
  23. i think the 5 pit prosp we have is and i am not adding rauch in that group. 1. honel 2. i truely hope diaz pans out. 3. malone, he will make the club if he gets the control prob under control. 4. i am extremely excited about haigwood(sp) this is guy is going to be something. 5. tie, strumm and munoz. i like strumm stuff IF he doesn't get hurt again. munoz is very intriguing if he can get stronger and go beyond the 50 pit count without running out of gas. but maybe he will make it as a rp.. ummm
  24. first off i am with all you guys and saying that 8 mil a yr is way too much to spend when he hasn't done anything. ref 1, i am in agreement in saying that if you spend wisely in players and not being afraid to pull the trigger on trading some prospects. we can put more wins in the column and fans in the seat. the sox wins and i mean win, you will get the fans to come out to the ball park. but jr needs to spend and a gm who knows how to trade without being taken to the bank. ref 2, expansion might have harm some teams but look at the yank and their spending or oak and their savy trades and good draft selection. you need some talent in the fron office and an owner who will pony up and spend some money on the right fa. ref 3, i think that is way they have est a luxury tax format. but the yank would rather win a world series ring instead of paying a penalty for going over the salary restriction.

and what pisses me off is if we could've just sign one of the cat we drafted and the 5 tool cf that went to lsu. we could have been sitting pretty.
