  1. Vargas's lead off double squandered. Why he didn't make it a triple, I dunno. Unless it's the thin air. But it would be 1-0 if he had.
  2. Vargas absolutely sucks fielding 3rd. He was leading the majors in errors at that position before they moved him. He couldn't even make the throw consistently.
  3. Too bad because Vargas can't play 3rd either. He's gotta be at first. Capra's gone. Who's on third? What's on second and I dunno the rest...
  4. That was a strike on 99% of Mariano Rivera's pitches.
  5. What it is to be a Sox fan... Disappointing. Too bad for Taylor. Wilson pitched well, but not lights out. I am really starting to loathe Sosa.
  6. I feel bad for Taylor. Would've been great if he could have closed it out.
  7. This is not because of kershaw's greatness, it has to do with pitch counts and the way pitchers are managed. It's another way the game has changed. I've seen quite a few of the 3k+ pitchers, and kershaw is not the one I'd pick to take the mound. It's an achievement for a HOF pitcher to be sure. But Austin Slater don't care, and neither do I.
  8. Burke outpitches kershaw on his big day.
  9. One of the Sox announcers cursed on the air on that Burke K. I think it was Schriffen.
  10. Truer words were never said! 🤣
  11. Oh brother. Bet you kershaw was done if Sosa pops out.
  12. Nice AB, Taylor. I don't wanna see this dingleberry get 3k against us.
  13. Dude is a big time vet, and he's crying about the strike zone. We see obvious bad calls alla time.
  14. What the hell is Slater doing on third?😁
  15. When Pham left the Sox he was one of the team’s best hitters. .266 BA, .710 OPS. This year he’s doing poorly, .230/.601 but still better than players such as Brooks Baldwin and sadly, Don Luis. When Fedde left the Sox he was the team’s best performing pitcher. 7-4 with a 3.11 ERA, 4.6 WAR. He may not regain that form, but if we’re talking potential value… Last year with the Dodgers Kopech went 4-0 with a 1.13 ERA. This year he’s pitched 7 innings with an ERA of 0. Currently he’s on the IL with right knee inflammation. Kopech still should be an ace. For them, we got Vargas. I hope Vargas matures into a top player, but so far the trade still looks lopsided to me.
  16. OK. I think this math is correct, and answers your question. From Baseball Savant. This year: 239 batted balls 22% were opposite field = 53 12 were hits 12/53 = .226 So when he hits the ball to the opposite field, he has a .226 BA.
  17. So I did the math and chatgpt is wrong. 12 for 152 is .079. Don't trust the AI.
  18. Fedde, Kopech, and Pham for Vargas? I'm still scratching my head.
  19. "Miguel Vargas’s batting average on balls hit to the opposite field in MLB is .125 (12 hits in 152 at‑bats)." I asked the chatgpt and its source was MLB.com
