QUOTE(DePloderer @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) No, that would be a buggerer. A bugger is another word for those realy crispy bits you can find up your nose, they're often green. Isn't that a booger? ;-) But now I see what you mean. I was close, and come on, I lived in Scotland and it's not like they talk right anyway. . .

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) I thought tosser was an individual that preferred sexual relations with the same sex. I think that's a bugger.

One personal, and one that is solely mine at work and 5 that I use for my experiments/programming/analysis (shared), plus an additional 8 that run linux and that I have to run programs on.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) It's right about now that you should begin to see the bitter irony of me marrying a nutrition major. I was actually going to comment on that--but I figure she's got another 50 years to fix you . . .

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) good question, but that's how we came up with this list. The ADA has certain schools approved for 5th year internships, with many of them coupled with MS's, MPH's, or PhD's in Nutrition. Of the 260 programs, many of which don't offer degree programs, we found 18. (I didn't list all of them.) I would suppose this question was difficult to begin with because the difference between an undergraduate's college experience and graduate level is often times quite significant. soxy, you're amongst a minority of people on the site that would have some insight on this. Do you have many friends that are married while in grad school? my best friend and his wife and my parents all had this experience. A few of my friends are currently married in grad school. I would say it's about 40-60 (married-single) and that proportion increases as the program wears on. But I think it also is different in the TYPE of program your in. I'm a little biased in that I think that professional graduate degrees (MBAs, MSW, PT, and yes, PsyD) it would be much easier to balance a married life with the rigors of grad school. I think though in the more "academic" grad programs it's a lot harder to balance out the family stuff with school (there's three people in my 40 person program with kids). And I know it's difficult for them, and one of them switched to half time. So, I think that's definitely a conversation you two should have with each other and the different programs to decide if you want to take the whole grad school thing or temper it down with a professional program. Jim, did you do your PhD while married?

What grad progam does she want to go into? That might make the school search a whole different ballgame. . .

They're both totally minging. Thank God they can't reproduce with each other. Although, each day William looks more and more like Charles. Ish.

That's cute. I was standing near a boy who had a sign that said, I waited 9 years for this. It was really cute. And mad props on proper usage of the noun form of the word Yas.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) Stony Brook As someone that goes to a SUNY, I can say they're a great system. Although, most people I've talked to that went to Stony Brook hated it. Might be different for grad school though. I think this website says it all though. . .

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) No more than a week. IIRC, you didn't follow RICE with the initial injury. Rest Ice Compression Elevation You should be fully healed in 2-3 weeks, at your age, and I'm guessing being average weight and fitness. The swelling should have been negligible in 4-5 days. You may have a severe sprain there. No, I did that! I did follow the rice, but I didn't use crutches. I didn't walk much in the days after and I did wrap it, ice it and put it up. Crap. Maybe I should go back to the doctor? (sorry my parents are useless on this topic--and I figure someone else's parents can give me good advice.)

How long is it normal for a sprained ankle to be swollen and painful?

My hair looks great! Thanks for advising me not to do it myself Rally Crede!

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Soxy, that's Death of a Salesman, not Everyman. Everyman is an allegory in which our hero, Everyman makes his journey through our world, trying to get to Heaven (man, it's been a long time since I read this). IIRC, and I'm almost sure I don't, Everyman is abandoned by all worldly things (Wealth is one I vividly remember) save Good Works on his spiritual journey. Clearly this was written long before the Great Awakening. I realize I've been little help. Sorry, but I think (Gasp!) a trip to the Library might be in your future. Shhh, I was trying to make him read the damn thing himself! I was going to throw in something about how Willy was accused of being a witch in a great witch hunt because he was an unsuccessful salesmen--but that sounded a bit far fetched. . . And I believe the correct way to define Everyman is as a medieval morality play. Thank you 10th grade AP English.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) That was not funny. ^^^^^^ I did laugh at the Astros whiffing on Big Bobby's pitches in Game One--they looked so confused and bad.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) do I want to enter my reception to Thunderstruck, the Imperial March from Star Wars, or the theme from Star Trek: TNG. Dah you and your helpful ideas! Congrats anywho. Oh my. That is definitely not something I ever asked someone who was *getting married* to ask. Nerd. Although no less odd than my best friend's choice of first song: Teenage Dirtbag. She's so cool.

It's about a salesman who has two sons. Essentially, the salesman works himself to death for his ungrateful family. Touching story about the degradation of family values in American society. Oh, wait what I mean to say is: READ THE DAMN PLAY! It's important, interesting and a damn fine story.

Oh wise Rally Crede, should I repierce my nose? And if so, should I do it before or after this conference I'm presenting at? Also, should I cut my hair to look like the girl on Veronica Mars?
