  2. OMG Jay Mariotti is so dumb! He's like so dumb. I hate him so much! But I read his column every day! OMG he's so dumb!
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) And when he was done, he was going to get the Beatles back together again, but then he decided he couldn't stand that b**** Yoko anyways. So instead he began planning to create the GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME. . . Journey (hey, not even The Rally Crede can get it perfect every single time)

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) Maybe we should have Brooks collect a dollar from everyone and send her a few dozen roses for our terrible fans or even better we can hold a benefit on her behalf. Maybe the Sox can sponsor a workshop on fan behavior. Then everyone will know what really swell fans we are. Or donate to her charity work--sounds like she does a lot. I have to admit I laughed out loud at the line about how you don't hit a Jersey girl and get away with it. It's true. And good letter SFF.
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) Threadjack What did Rally Crede do on his off day? The Rally Crede never takes a day off.
  6. Is Tea-Tree water/essential oil one of the wonders of the world? Because it should be.

Very sad. She had more courage than anyone I have ever known. May she rest in peace and finally get the equality she fought for.
  9. The Rally Crede was not born of a woman, but ripped untimely from his mother's womb.
  10. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Isn't that Gooch? Awww, somebody has a crush on GOOCH! Oh, you're right it is! I didn't even pay attention to the numbers--it was pretty cute though. She was doing that the whole game.
  11. My cat loves tv and my roommate took this when we were watching the ALCS clincher. Apparently my cat also loves Scottie 2 Hottie.
  12. I've actually seen Un chien andalou--and I can say it was the most shocking thing I've ever seen. Should be higher. . . And the Usual Suspects--great movie, but the ending was not shocking. Sixth Sense--also not shocking.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) One could argue that even rape may have something to do with sexually explicit material on TV, could they not? I'm not suggesting at all that violence is a non-issue. I'm merely stating one of the reasons why most sexual material is not shown on prime time TV. I guess it depends on if you view rape as about sex; or if you take the more informed view and consider it an act of domination, power, humiliation and putting someone in their place. . . Do I think that portraying people as mere sexual objects plays into that? Yes. Do I think that the constant saturation of violence in movies, tv, video games, music, etc has just as big a role? Yes.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) The odds of the average kid picking up a gun, going to school, and shooting people is never good. That doesn't mean that violence doesn't exist...but a kid getting beaten up, kids getting jumped, kids getting mugged, while all are very horrible, are nothing compared to a kid having unprotected sex one time and waking up 10 months later to the sound of a child crying. Tell that to a rape victim. At least there's adoption. People that have never been a victim of a violent crime shouldn't say it's nothing.
  15. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) sounds just like gansta rap/ hip hop to me... if these girls were black they'd be multi-platinum and dating sean combs/p/diddy/whatever his name is... i don't care for either genre's ... the girls or hip hop, but like I said what's the difference? Yeah, I would say genocide vs. homicide is a pretty big difference. . .
  16. People! Spell check! Grammar check! Let's not send e-mails to national news sources that are riddled with grammatical mistakes! Let's show the world how smart Sox fans are by always using proper spelling and grammar!!!!!!
  17. The whole Steve Perry always with them thing kind of reminds me Pedro and his lucky midget. . . Kinda freaky.
  18. I never wasted my time watching Cub games before and I certainly don't plan to start now. Not my team = Don't care
  19. Soxy replied to JUGGERNAUT's topic in SLaM
I think that the whole violent movies don't affect kids because they're not going to go and shoot up a school argument is pretty bogus. Okay, fair enough, most kids are not going to go and shoot up the school. But does that mean that prominent violence in the media DOESN'T condone other forms of violence? Or does it minimize, hitting your girlfriend, kids, some kid at school, etc so that seems more acceptable and mainstream.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Did anyone see Blago on one of the pre game shows from the Cell? I can't remember which station it was on, but they were trying to get him to put on a Sox cap. He said something like: "No, I'm a Cub fan and to do something like that would be one of those crummy things that politicians do all the time". C'mon dude, you're already AT the game. That whole thing made me so angry. Hey Jackass, a lot of us would give our right arm for those tickets, so sit down and shut the hell up. If it's so crummy give the tix to someone who actually cares. Asshole.
  21. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) I have a friend who drunk calls Jeremy Piven - even though he doesn't know the actor. He gave me the phone number. Guess who drunk calls Jeremy Piven in two more wins? Who's Jeremy Piven?
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Mock away, but you missed one heck of a talk on sensory habituation and sensitization. I think that this is going to be a very good week.
  23. Well, it's a great way to ice out the visiting pitcher too. . .

Went and saw Wallace and Gromit. Really cute, a few adult jokes, but in general good, sweet family fun.
