  1. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) I love Tads' swing. I love how he tosses the bat at the end of his swing.
  2. Great job by MB, Jenks, and the offense again stepping it up, keep it going. Great Job by the MB today to hold them down after we got the lead and a great job of Gooch to take advantage of that HUGE error by Graffy. I am late but I just got home. I guess it's good I again didn't attend the game thread, lol. Only one game thread in 6 games I have participated in and they are 6-0!! Won't be there Friday again so go White Sox let's finish them off.
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Wakefield is 5-10 with an era over 8 against the white sox in his career. That doesn't mean much, it does on the mentality of the hitters but this isn't the regular season. Anything can happen and u just hope that history repeats itself with us kicking Wakefields ass. Then again, Buehrle got rocked by Boston in his last start so you hope that history doesn't repeat itself in that respect. You just gotta hope for the best and whoever steps up will win.
  4. QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Good points on their starting pitching. We've done pretty well against Wakefield in the past and Schilling has looked pretty shakey down the stretch. Overall, these are good match-ups for us. The White Sox do have the edge on paper you just hope that translates. I just hope they don't s*** their pants and swing at everything vs Wakefield and Schilling. They are vulnerable, you just hope they can handle it. Wells is a different story, he ain't gonna walk you and has a good breaking ball = not good for us. I hope he leaves them hanging and we crush them.
  5. Guys, I feel good about our chances, their offense is great but I just have this feeling that our pitching will lead us further. I mean if it goes to game 5 I have a lot of faith in Count. It definitley isn't as easy as this but check it out we won one already, we have Buehrle, Garcia, and Garland. I have a good feeling we win at least one of those if not two --thats pushing it though, you can't predict they all will do well-- Then we have the Count. Our bullpen also has to keep the lead so u have to give the lead to the bullpen who u hope won't blow it. I haven't felt good about Politte since before the ASB though... Anyway, you just hope that in every game the SP gives you a good chance to win, if all of our SP's give us QS's then our bullpen has to do the rest, it can happen but I think we can depend on our bullpen enough to take at least this series. Late Boston rallies are not good so I hope the runs they do get, are early so we have time to come back(hopefully not many because they can swing it.) Nothing sucks more than seeing a SP go through 7 with 1 ER and then get lit up for 4 more runs in the 8th, thats also a key. Like I said, easier said than done but I just have a good feeling and I hope im right.
  6. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) the StarTrib beat write for the Twins was sort of making a pitch for Konerko playing with the Twins next year hmm its not even Hot Stove season yet! Twins don't have the payroll to give PK 10 million a year.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) You can help thank Torii Hunter for that. I don't know about Torii...he has always been named the face of the Twins with his style of play but on the other hand maybe not his personal attitude. If he is talking trash about his teammates to the media then thats bad. It seems to me like he thinks everybody should bow down to him because of his GG and his veteran status on the team. From what I hear from Twins fans some of them want to trade Hunter to give some good talent in return. Then add the fact that hes becoming a clubhouse cancer he definitley might leave. Then he sold his house because he heard from reliable sources he might be traded? A lot of stuff going on. As far as Morneau, a lot of Twins fans still have high expectations for him. I don't believe Minny will give up on him so early. They are good at developing talent and they won't get rid of someone homegrown because they didn't meet their expectations in his first full season in the majors. Morneau is a powerful young 1B with lots of upside and to deal him for an old 3B is bad. Considering their payroll, who will they get to replace him at 1B?
  8. QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) I cannot emphasize how important tomorrow's game is. We desperately need a win in Game 2. We won today, but let's keep our eyes on the next prize: GAME TWO. Go Sox. Tomorrow is definitley important because that sets up a sweep if the white sox win but gives the team even more confidence in themselves. I have faith in them! --If they win tomorrow you know they will be pumped for the third game BIG time.--
  9. QUOTE(bulokis @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) What a great win today. Tom. will be the key to the series. You know BoSox will be up swinging and playing harder tomorrow, we need to match their energy. We got a few hit batters today and Rowand hit that wall pretty hard, I hope everyones ok. Ozzie will not let them get lethargic out there and with todays win, their gonna have some confidence that they can beat this team. I hope they'll be ok.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Calm down man..lol. I'm on your side. I'm just saying, these guys know how to come back. They do, hopefully our pitching prevents that from happening.
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) I'm in f***in awe right now. What a show put on by our Sox. I almost s*** my pants when Pods hit that 3 run bomb. But lets remember, these guys came back from 0-3 to the Yankees last year. In 03, they were down 0-2 to the A's and came back and won in 5. This is just one game. These guys know how to come back. I don't care if they did come back, this is a different year, this is the year of the White Sox and they won't lay down just because they killed Boston today. The White Sox will keep on fighting no matter what and thats why this game was so important. Lots of confidence can go a long way.
  12. All I have to say is GREAT attitude today. All of the White Sox came ready to play and I hope they keep it up because that was great character. Rowand gave me a bit of a scare but just looking that he's still giving it 100% in a blowout gives me the confidence that the whole team is playing just like that. Tomorrow I will definitley not be able to watch the game unless class gets cancelled. I think I have been on only one game thread the past 4 games and their 4-0 so tomorrow I will be absent again because of class. I will not participate in game threads until they lose some. With that said I hope im not on a game thread the rest of the postseason!!! Go White Sox!!!
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Link Those are hilarious!
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) i won't be able to watch tomorrow, nor do i care, particularly
  15. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) I don't know about you guys but i feel a whole hell of a lot more comfortable if Hermanson is on the mound than Jenks or Marte. Trust me I love what Jenks has done however he can very erratic. Plus im not sure what Hermy did to lose the closers job. He had a couple of rough outings. That's it. I also want Hermy out there whenever possible because it seems like Hermy just gets the job done no matter what the situation. Jenks can be good but I am not sold on him yet. He has done a good job and if it weren't for errors that really screwed the team he wouldn't look so bad but still, if his curve isn't located they just keep fouling off the fastball until they get one they like. Besides those errors Jenks was nervous as hell in some of those really really important games and we can't run the risk of him blowing a game because he throws 100mph. We really need Hermy now and I really hope he can pitch for us while being healthy.
  16. I wish I could miss work tomorrow, I can, but I only work 2 days a week as it is because of school and I can't work on weekends either. Hopefully tomorrow is a slow day at work and I can get out early, or I have a feeling I will be there until real late. Its either hit or miss with me get out at 3 or maybe *gulp* 6... Not only that but on Wednesday I have school during the day and a 3 hr night class. School really sucks this semester, I hate all of my classes and I have time for nothing.
  17. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) The Reds GM is going to have what he thinks is the last laugh when we get swept out of the playoffs for lack of offensive production. Thing is, he's going to be laughing from the perpetual last place that he helped put his team into. That's not much of a laugh. Maybe if you would say *if* we get swept, but it sounds like you expect us to get swept.
  18. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) I'd just like to hope the following individuals enjoy the playoffs. Jason Schmidt. Eric Chavez. Dmitri Young. A.J. Burnett. The Devil Rays GM Chuck Lamar. Ken Griffey. Wes Helms. And every other player we spent so much time discussing prior to the trade deadlines. Jay Mariotti, of course. And as always, every Cub fan in the world. "Forget the other teams, it's going to come down to us and Cleveland. No disrespect to the Twins and White Sox, I just feel that club, the doggone Indians, is going to be the thorn in our side." -Dmitri Young "They are a good team, but I don't think they are the best team. They are not better than we are." - Casey Blake hahahaha...Nuff said.
  19. Damn I feel good right now I really hope they can go do some damage in the playoffs and prove everyone wrong. I am so proud of our sox right now. Even though Cleveland did swept, you gotta give it to them, they gave all White Sox fans a heart attack when they went on their tear. Once again, great job White Sox and bring a damn WS winner to Chicago.
  20. EAT s*** INDIANS ALONG WITH THE WHITE SOX HATERS!! :finger :finger THINKING YOU WOULD SWEEP US??? THE DIVISION CHAMPS??? MUWHAHAHA YOU GUYS GOT OWNED IN YOUR OWN HOUSE!! UH OH....BUH BYE 99 WINS GO GET EM IN THE POST WHITE SOX BECAUSE I AM DAMN PROUD
  21. MUWHAHAHAAHAH SWEPT IN YOUR HOUSE ALONG WITH YOUR PLAYOFF HOPES!!! :finger :finger CLEVELAND INDIANS = PWNED!!! 99 wins, damn it feels great. buh bye Indians!!
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) They are having so much fun its awesome. I hope they do the same in the playoffs. I am sure thats one reason why our offense sucked so damn much sometimes, everyone was just trying to win the game wether the homerun swing or not.
