QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Mark-Jon-Freddy-Mac. Wild Card-Count This staff is going to be scary for a long time. As long as they are healthy yes.

Coop cannot leave. We already have a big part of the White Sox family leaving after this season. Can't let anymore.

Kudos to JG stepping it up and getting that important #1 road victory. Besides Garland I want to give a HUGE HELL YES! to our SP's thus far and I hope they keep on rolling.

Huge win tonight, sets a good tone for our team. Hopefully they get ahead early again and keep the lead with Garcia. Great Job JG. Good job offense, go get em tomorrow. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) You can't tell me that the iceman would crack under that pressure. He's eaten pressure alive on the mound this season. He's been beaten when his best stuff wasn't working for him or when Ozzie left him in too long...but when he's been out there and its become crunch time...no one on this staff has done a better job of cinching it up and hunkering down than Garland. Case in point: Tejada. Strike 3. Lol, I love how that is always brought up about Garland. That was a huge moment in the beginning of the season. I too am confident in him but I hope we wrap it up before game 7 to tell you the truth.

I hope we take 2 of 3 in Anaheim. Coming back to Chicago having to win 2 games in a row vs them is very hard especially with them knowing one more W and their in. I really really want 2 but if not then 1 should be the minimum.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Actually he didn't have to redeem himself to Sox fans, we already love the guy . . . As long as hes no where near the field when we play, hes ok in my book.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) I had visions of a strikeout on a ball in the dirt just like what every one of our other hitters did against Escobar. I'm glad I was wrong. Escobar left his splitter up and the rest is history. God damn their pen is filthy. I really hope these guys realize it's not gonna get easier as the game goes on. Lackey is going to give them fits but I hope they adjust. Then we got Santana who looked like Johan vs. us...oh s***. Tag their asses early and shut the door.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) But lets say a runners on 2nd base and the ball is ruled a trap...he has to stay half way and than run back to 2nd instead of head to 3rd because its originally called out. Doesn't that in fact dictate what a player does, yet it can still be changed. I've seen umps have all kinds of different strike out calls. I also think a lot of umps make that similar call (which is what he claims) where you do the strike 3 call with an out sign. That said, I long said if I were Sciosc, I'd be mad at the umps signaling because I still think that ball hit the ground. I have yet to see any conclusive evidence to tell me it didn't. I also never heard any footage of the ump saying it was caught clean or saying it wasn't caught clean. Sure the ump could have done a better job about being loud, but at the same time, its the catchers job to make the tag and I think the one case you can make from the Sox side is that Paul threw the ball back to the mound before the ump even made his next signal (because AJ had turned around) and than ran back. Also good job of AJ by selling himself on that, usually guys wouldn't run but he did and he made it happen. I absolutely LOVE this guy, he is a true f***ing gamer. MB held it down, AJ gave us the opportunity to win, Ozuna with the steal and Crede to end it with the clutch hit.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Marky is an ace, a few bad outings doesn't make less of a man out of you. Anyways, the Angel pen was terrific again. I have no idea why Donnelly only got 1/3 of an inning but we might not hit Shields all series and Escobar is still nasty. This game will be remembered for the call but now we can go into Anaheim on a good feeling and knowing that we don't have to win 2 to survive. 2 would be sweet though.... They should go in there trying to end it. Man this is a good series! -
AJ said he didn't hear that he was called out so he ran. The umpire stuck out his fist but I think he was calling some strikes like that. If he didn't say he was out then AJ has reason to run and too bad for them that Paul threw the ball to the mound.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) I'll take the win, but don't think for a second we wouldn't be doing the same thing if the call ahd gone the other way. Oh you bet there would be havoc around here especially going into Anaheim. f*** that finally some calls go our way. "It's our turn!" -

QUOTE(Irishsox1 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) 1. The play was too close for Josh Paul not to tag A.J. How hard is it to tag a guy who's walking back to the dugout? Even if he thought he caught it. 2. I thought the ball hit the ground and was a trap. 3. I have no idea what the arm wipe or arm clinch mean, but A.J. ran to first and that's heads up. 4. Josh Paul couldn't throw out Ozuna. 5. Crede got the cluch hit. 6. Does this call make up the horrible calls made in Oakland earlier this year? Nope, we could still use some calls in our favor. Oakland is not the only place we got bad calls at. We got hosed big time this season on many calls, hopefully there is more to come our way. -

I went wild once I saw the ball come off Crede's bat. Lets go into Anaheim and get some W's. I just hope the ballpark factor doesn't bother them because just hearing them they let us know that thats a hard park to play at. Either way I have a good feeling about our chances. -
Guys is there ANY way that call can be turned over and they have to play again starting in the 10th? or can you put this W in the books?

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) This game from the get go seemed much much quieter than the games against Boston. It's not the Fox volume because there was times when our crowd actually got loud. Like I said in another thread, it seemed like the White Sox had to do something first before they got cheered as opposed to last week when the fans were urging them on to get that base hit or turn that DP. Well I hope those people at the game don't think it's an easy ride just because we swept Boston. I know all of us would cheer ALL game long. -
I don't know, I doubt JR said that. He could have but for some reason I don't see him doing that. Whatever.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) There's no chance the Twinkies will outbid the Angels for him. We might still be the team with the best shot of doing that. We f***ing better. This contract status should have already been taken care of. Yes you don't want to have any distractions during the season but if Konerko is (and I hate to use this word) the captain of this he should have signed already.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) I think there is a very, very good possibility Soriano ends up with the Twins next season. More K's for our pitchers then. Ok seriously, he would definitley improve their offense. I also think Morneau is going to have a huge season. The central is going to be reckoned with. I knew Cleveland was up there in ERA with us, but damn they tied us? Next season will be interesting with the 3 teams and you can beat Detriot will play a role in spoiling it for the 3 teams if not trying to make a run for it themselves.

QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) It's hard to get loud and into the game when your team is losing and you have that depressing feeling. You should've seen me at home. I had my head buried in my hands and I was dead quiet the whole game. Everyone at the game probably had the same feeling I had, and knowing that you spent a fortune to see it unfold live, they probably felt worse. If Paulie had gotten a hit in the 8th, tieing the game, or if Crede had gotten a hit in the 9th, the place would've erupted like we've never seen the Cell erupt! I just think that they should've cheered even if we were down. You gotta get the team hyper some how. -

Do you guys really think if you go to the park before game time you can get seats? I guess it's always a gamble going to find seats but I don't want to make the trip if there isn't a good chance of me getting a seat. How is it gonna be, 3 games in Chicago, 3 in Anahiem and the last one here?? -

"I don't what it is but I believe Ozzie has something up his sleeve." I think it's that whip he took out after Detroit beat us those 2 games. Take it out once again and lets show these Angels their copying OUR style of play. -

QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) I wish I had that goin on right now. I'm still f***in livid. I am not mad but I am disappointed in our team. I expected them to execute better both offensivley and defensivley. Byrd might not have great stuff like Count but he put us away since we weren't taking good swings. For some reason I had a bad feeling about this game but then again, who can have a good feeling going against the Angels, especially with our west coast woes. This series can do a lot to our sox for next season. Just imagine, if we beat them all the west coast bs will be out of their head. Going into the west won't be automatic L's. Like our early sox, play good for a long stretch then suck for one day, hopefully they took out all their bad days today. Tomorrow is back on the field with some confidence and go home with the series tied. Huge game tomorrow, go get em sox and I will still stay off the game thread.
