  1. Nevermind the pitching disaster in the 9th, the sox came back ready to play just as I thought. They just have to keep it going. Good job guys, go get em tomorrow.
  2. Ok, if the sox let them come back this will be it. Today they came back hungry and now the pitching is screwing us over, get the f***ing job done.
  3. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) White Sox baseball 2004-Get rid of Joe Borchard White Sox baseball Spring of 2005-Get rid of Joe Borchard White Sox baseball Fall of 2005-Bring up Joe Borchard I think that pretty much speaks for itself. Sorry, (04) White Sox baseball - We ground into double plays... (05) White Sox baseball - We reincarnate Cy Young.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) Unless the Sox get positive energy, it doesn't mean s*** what is said on soxtalk.com. We can b****/whine all we want, and ask who's in or out, but unless the Sox start winning some games soon, they're going to have their backs against the wall. You are right, the players need to feel good about their chances and perform well, not us. The sox right now have their backs against the wall and that is why I think they will turn it around. I am sure all of them have seen the schedule the rest of the way and other teams schedule, bs if they haven't, don't you think they want to know how they should feel about certain games? Tomorrow is time for them to snap out of it. The time is now.
  5. The addition of Pods means a lot, no not that our hitters start hitting with runners in scoring position but he gives the team a different outlook. A lot of people are down right now, im tired of being down, we can sure as hell go on a 9 game winning streak while the twins and tribe go on a 9 game losing streak. A 7 game lead in any division is great but because the way we are playing it sucks, f*** that, 7 games is good for us too. All I am saying is lets get some positive energy around here s*** can turn around very fast. Comon people.
  6. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) I will always root for the Sox, but I don't have any faith that they will do anything more than they did in 2000, if even that. And that's okay. I hope they prove me wrong. I am sure everyone is 100% behind you on this one. I know I am, everyone one week from now would love to have a plate full of crow. If tomorrows game was at home, I think some type of acknowledgement of their efforts would put a positive sign through the whole game. Since they are not at home they have to feel it themselves. Hopefully they do.
  7. If someone would've known our pitching would be this good I don't know who would say we won't make the playoffs. With our pitching, we can compete with the best, THE BEST people. Thats without mentioning the offense in which people would say "with that pitching and d, how can't you win?" Well here we go, the sox said earlier that their playing hasn't yet been felt as personal, thats over. This was personal, the sox had one of the best pitching performances of the year and blew it. Now its personal, its time for them to be obsessed with revenge. They better flip it around because its now personal and its now about their reputation. I expect a new game tomorrow after todays performance. "Ozzie has something up his sleeve," well he better pull it the f*** out, because tomorrow its on. That magazine that said the sox were chokers that ozzie posted sure as hell better not be the only thing up his sleeve. I know the sox are trying and they are trying too hard to get it done. Tomorrow isn't about trying, its about performing. Good luck tomorrow sox and I hope you start a winning streak that will put everyone talking s*** to sleep.
  8. I understand where people are coming from about giving up now before another heart break, its understandable, this team fools us a lot. Thats why everyone was so reluctant to "believe" when this team was winning. Even with a lot of the media believing in us most of the fans didn't. Sure we still have a great record but we are sinking now and with the tribe coasting with their O, its gonna be hard. Hopefully they wake up and realize playtime is over. It starts with Buehrle tomorrow, he needs to step up his game because hes been horrible. I am in even though my faith is dwindling. Tomorrow will be a big game for the sox no doubt about it. Hopefully they come out on top with some energy and start a good streak and hopefully the tribe and twins start a bad one. Tomorrow will be very important . Lets go sox, don't let us down again.
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) IN Please don't jump back on the bandwagon when they start to heat up going into the playoffs. I hope you're right...I hope you are right.....
  10. In If they don't have a meeting with the team now then don't have it at all. This is it, they can't keep losing anymore, if they don't change tomorrow its over. --Although I will never give up, im in until the end.--
  11. I just got home only to see Garcia had a 1 hitter and still lost. :headshake I knew we were going to lose today but I didn't know it would be this bad. Well, here we go, I don't know where u can find optimism anymore. Everyone actually believed this team was for real only to see this s***. How f***in sad.
  12. QUOTE(Yeast Confection @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Who cares what he will do. I am talking about what should be done. I guess you can talk about what should be done all you want but that isn't going to get it done.
  13. QUOTE(Yeast Confection @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) I don't care how weak/strong the market is. Some things you do; some things you just don't. Mueller is not a bad idea unless he costs more than 4 Mill. In addition to that, Sox might want to dump some of their overrated prospects in exchange for either Tracy or Overbay, who should be cheap for at least 3 more years. Get Durham. There, you have 1B-3B-DH shored up with "grinders" for as little as 10 Mill. Giles works for me too, though Sox would need to get rid of Dye'a 6 Mill first, which won't happen unless he has a helluva September to pretty up the overall numbers. Giles may never Slug 600 again, but as long as he gets on base at 420-430 clip at USCF, I don't care; he'd be crazy not to give us a slight discount the way the ball jumps to Right especially. LF Pods (healthy) DH Durham RF Giles CF Rowand (his Slugging should bounce back to .500+) 1B Overbay 2B Iguchi C AJP 3B Mueller SS Uribe (looking better lately; hopefully he's growing out of his moronic ways) Something along those lines. Not gonna finish with 250 HR on the season, but when it comes to Quality Pitchers in Big Games, that line-up can hold its own with anybody. I highly doubt KW will redo this offense, he did with the pitching last winter but his "chemistry" is something he doesn't want to mess with. The only way we overhaul our offense is if they continue to blow and our pitching does as good as you can ask but they still lose. It can happen but I just don't think KW will make that many moves.
  14. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) Radke is a very good pitcher. Lohse is decent as a 3rd starter and Silva is pretty good. They have the best Starting Pitching of any team in competition for the wild card. Lohse is no where near a 3rd starter, give me Silva over Lohse anyday.
  15. How much longer do you guys think this losing streak will last because it seems like never right now. Then to think we got RJ tomorrow. :headshake
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Sadly he did. If he said that then im thinking he might bow down to KW if he gets Mike Jackson out of retirement to DH for us.
  17. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Trust me I know but this year is defiantly the worse I mean crede over A-rod LOL ok did he really say this guys or is this a joke??
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) The Sox have played 4 games against NY this year and I think they have given up 8 runs... that is extremely good, and only a 2-2 record to show for it... Oh no doubt about it, holdin NYY down like that is great. I just kinda feel like if they score a lot of run when the pitching sucks and still don't f***ing win, why can't they score runs when the pitching is good. Their way off beat and need to straighten out. It will piss me off if Duque gets rocked tomorrow but we manage to score 10 runs and still f***ing lose.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) And we need some players to pick it up right now. We can't keep putting a lineup on the field with 4 or 5 guys in a massive slump, and think we're going to win. We need a lot of players to pick it up right now, it makes me even more mad when you think all those runs we scored on Boston and our pitching was bad but now our pitching has been doing ok and now we can't f***ing hit.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Look at their career numbers, and you could have never expected this type of season from all of them. Of course, Rowand and especially Uribe have put up disappointing seasons this year. I understand your point but look at mine, in order to improve as a team some people had to step it up, thats what made us so good and made the Twins good in 02. Guys stepping it up has a lot to do with it than saying "oh it was luck."
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) specially amazing seasons from Garland, Cotts, Politte, and Hermanson. Those guys have pitched so far over their heads this season, and it really boosted our record. Career years for each of them yes, but you can't take away the fact that coming in to the season they could be keys. Look at the Twins in 02, they had a lot of improvements from key guys who helped them win but you can't say thats the only reason they succeeded. Yes we got some lucky wins but I wouldn't say we are lucky overall.
  22. For those of you who don't know yet heres a little optimism going into tomorrow, at least the Twins go against king hernandez.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) I feel Pods is a huge reason this team thinks the only way they can score is via the HR. Fathom, no need to post Pods run totals. I know; you've said it a billion times. I just feel Pods made it easier for the team to realize that they were able to score via a basehit, bunt, or sac fly. I also feel that way, Pods won't fix all of our problems but s*** man having him at the top of the lineup makes me confident now. Right now that team is going out there just thinking they are going to do the best they can but with no confidence. I defintley have more confidence with Pods on the basepaths distracting the pitchers. Again, Pods won't fix all of our problems but speed intimidates people and makes them do things they wouldn't do with someone slow or avg on the basepaths. A lot of the breaks the sox got in the first half were because they were actually playing smart.
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) But not with the CORPSEBALL KIDS. We are lucky to see a few hits, and every pitcher can have at least 6 Ks against us. Well I don't think its good when a guy like AJP has already struck out twice as much as he did last year and is looking to break his career high by quite a few more this season. Is it just his attitude has changed or is it really Walk?? It doesn't even matter how we do in the post, if Ozzie and KW think the sox offense can play smart ball, small ball, kick me in my ass ball, they got something else coming to them. They need guys who are patient and hit for a decent avg throughout the season.
  25. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) Problem is every potential playoff team has a damn good bullpen. Then they need to get it done early.
