  1. My guess is that if KW visits Hermy in Charlotte he will be up quicker than we think if everything goes well like Nelson. The only thing I can think of that might pause his return is when they will give up on Politte.
  2. The Cintron 3 run homer video at the sox site is all screwed up. Last year the best call was hands down, Crede's game winner. Behind it goes AJ's shot vs LA. This year I was at the Oakland game where Mack hit the 2 run shot to tie it. Listening to it gives me that feeling like it could be the best call of the year so far, but I don't know. Best game I have ever been to I know that much. I know some more really good ones are coming though.
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) There is no such thing as grace anymore. A guy gives you the best year of his career and the worst, but in each he tries to the best of his ability, shows up to work, does what is asked of him, and works hard. His career collapses, and that makes him a perfectly valid target for ridicule and attack. :headshake Theres no need for the headshake. Just like Politte is a valid target for ridicule, my criticism of the title of this thread is valid. I agree with everything you said, just not the original title of the thread.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) No it isin't. Not after his latest display of dogs***. We both agree that he sucks and thats it for him, at least in a sox uni, but I still find the first title a little harsh.
  5. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) Over/Under on the number of posts you have here after the White Sox take over 1st? LOL!
  6. Wow what a great guy. I am sure a thank you from former players as a coach means a lot. Especially when they finally see their players succeed. JOEEEE CREDEEEE!!!
  7. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Doing it with 2 outs to start with is amazing to me. Were talking about Cliff Politte in 06 here tigerfan. Nothing amazing to me.
  8. THOME IS ON FIRE!!!! Anderson keeps hitting as well as the rest of our offense. HELL YESS!!
  9. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) No offense, I wouldn't be so happy, as much as relieved. The O's nearly pulled off the impossible there. No they didn't... They got some runs on Politte how is that impossible?
  10. Wow, the guy does suck, but this thread is a little harsh.
  11. Good job by the offense and by Cotts. We gain a half game on the Tigers and hopefully we take 1st before the break. Good job to most of the sox.
  12. QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Once Politte is released, do you guys realize how many teams will compete to pick him up? I know he is not doing well right now, but I got a hunch he will turn it around, perhaps after the Allstar break. To add him to their AAA team. Politte has had more than enough time to get things straight. He needs to go.
  13. Everything is mental with that guy. That's something I am sure KW knew before he got him. Hopefully their plan works. To expect Vazquez to come in and pitch lights out with Coop from the beginning is dumb, but no one expected him to be as bad as he is now either. Other things I notice is that he doesn't put guys away when he's ahead. He might get them 0-2 quickly and then let them get back in the count. That happens a lot with him. He misses with some of his breaking stuff and then throws his FB that they are ready to hammer because they know it will be in the strike zone since he doesn't want to walk them. Either they sit on his FB or he hangs his breaking stuff. A perfect example of his issues is his last start where he allowed the big HR then proceeded to walk the next guy and then give up the bomb again. The coaching staff needs to keep pounding him in the head the correct thing to do which is why they got him. to correct his mental lapses. The thing I am worried about is the fact that he's a veteran in the league and won't listen to what anyone says. He might never change. It's the risk they took in acquiring him. I hope this is just a rough stretch for him because we really need our guys to straighten out from here on out.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) On the Twins' MLB.com forum, some of the people are saying that NL fans and players voted for AJ because they felt they had a better chance of winning with him on the team than they did with Liriano on it. Haha, it's funny to see people trying to make excuses. Yeah sure. It was us vs the world, but the NL fans did us a favor. Lol!
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) We really deserve some credit for this one. We really showed up the rest of the country. EVERYONE hates AJ, and we still managed to band together and get his ass into the ASG. I agree.
  16. HELL YESS!!! HELL YES!! AJ!!!!!! GREAT JOB SOX FANS!!! GREAT JOB!!!
  17. Wow... thats all... EDIT: Oh yeah sorry, forgot. The performance was good.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) 2390 redirection hits from Soxtalk. Beat our goal by 1390. Nice, the forum should've been closed and replaced with a vote AJ link lol.
  19. PHEW!! It just closed for me! Like 3 hours straight!!
  20. Great win and hopefully Contreras goes back to being dominant. The first thing I thought about him adding the third angle was getting caught inbetween. I hope our starters begin to pitch like their able to the rest of the way because we need them to. Go get em tomorrow boys.
  21. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) How bad was Iguchi's injury? I hope just day to day. If it were me I would rest him a few games because it is going to be a long second half of the season. Supposedly not as bad as originally thought, but the sox aren't going to risk anything. At minimum he will be out for another 2 days. Hopefully until after the ASB just to be sure though.
  22. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) First off, I never said anything about Thome personally. I said injuries in the home run derby are not common at all, and they aren't. I think its the worst excuse ever, outside of football or hockey where players are injured EVERY game. It really doesn't matter if you said anything about him or not the fact is that he was injured all of last year and the sox can't risk him even pulling a muscle in the derby. He is so important to the team that other than batting 4 times a game he shouldn't be doing much else. Hell playing him at 1B was a risk, but it was for the good of the team.
  23. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Yeah, because injuries are so common in the home run derby. Them pitches hurt when they hit you! OMG you are right. Sorry I forgot Thome has never had injury problems in his career. You're always right! QUOTE(ChiSox35 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) "Thome doesn't need to risk an injury for a damn derby" This isn't soccer. I don't see a home run derby as a serious injury threat to Thome, and for the afore-mentioned reasons I'd rather see Thome in it than Dye. Yup Thome can't get hurt swinging the bat as hard as he can over and over.
  24. Screw the bozo. I guess he likes playing for losers since he has most of his career.
  25. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) I agree with you guys, I don't want to see anything happen to his swing. I'd have much rather seen Thome in it, I don't see it affecting his swing anywhere near as much. I disagree very much with that. Thome doesn't need to risk an injury for a damn derby. I'd rather see both of them elect not to participate.
