White Sox close to acquiring Soriano
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) I would love to have Soriano on the White Sox. He's a great hitter, and will get better in the field. I don't think it would be wise to trade McCarthy for him for 2 months of his services. If KW ships McCarthy out for Soriano, either Soriano signs an extension or KW is going to ship him elsewhere, and keep him away from his closest rivals. McDougal has a lot of potential, and would be a decent piece in the pen if he can stay healthy. If BMac is shipped out, it wouldn't surprise me if next spring the White Sox try Cotts or Thornton as a starter. Hopefully what I heard was wrong or has changed and the SI guy is correct when he says Broadway and Fields. I much rather have KW move those 2 than McCarthy. I REALLY REALLY hope bmac is just a damn rumor because we need him. We move a starter now or in the offseason and sign Crede to a long term contract.

Ha, Bmac better not be going anywhere. You also have to note the fact that KW said no one from the big league club is going anywhere. Especially with the fact that KW has been really focused on getting a mix of talent, young and veterans, for the future, I doubt he deals bmac.

Widger Reaction
I don't like what the team did in regards to his departure. KW and co don't like calling people out, but in this instance they did. Something must have happened because KW does not show up his players not named Frank. I feel really bad for Widge because even though he has been terrible, its sad. I don't know what really happened, but for them to call him lazy thats terrible. Good luck Widger.

And thats a Sox Loser.
QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) All of you that are stressing over this loss should stop paying attention to the Sox for a few days. It really makes things a lot less stressful. For the last two games of the Detroit series, I Tivod the game so I could fast forward through all the bullspiff. Tonight I came home, saw Mench rounding the bases, and turned the tv off. Same thing I do. Lately I've been trying to avoid watching the games because I get so mad.

White Sox Vs. Rangers
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Thank you Texas!!! That might be the spark we need. Ozzie is going to flip about this. Why can't Ozzie charge Buck in the dugout? Lol I feel sorry for Tracey...

White Sox Vs. Rangers
QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) After that bad inning by Buerhle, it was basically over.. again. That one bad inning is killing us, and it doesn't help when the lineup is in a mental slump. This sucks! It kills the team mentally. I mean everything wasn't going too bad then "here we go again." The way their playing right now is comparable to last seasons rough stretch. All the pressure builds up and everyone tries to get the big hit. According to Hawk though, Guillen is the cure to everything in the clubhouse.

Kerry Wood! The simulated games were the best ever thrown in history hands down.

Backup Catchers
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) At least when Ozzie puts in his spiffty lineup, Damian Miller is hitting and catching. Something Widger can't do. You guys are all crazy we should just sign Willie Harris to catch. He can do it all pimp. Whats Burke doing these days?

What Time is it....SKIN TIME WOOT
Very cool. Good job guys.

Joel Zumaya
Emotion is fine, but he shouldn't stare into the opposing teams dugout.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) I said a good team. Garcia, the man who has been pegged as the big game pitcher has been pathetic against just about everyone this year but especially the good teams. Atleast Vazquez had two ok months instead of sucking for the entire season. I still don't understand why anyone would choose Garcia over Vazquez, Garcia appears to be toast while Vazquez atleast has great stuff still, just a 2 cent head. I saw Javy pitch well for 5 innings yesterday, in a huge game against a great team that's more than I can say for anything Garcia has done this year. You know I agree with you on a few points, but I just don't see Javy ever changing. He has no balls and lets that one inning get to him every start. At least Garland kept his cool when he was going through that, but Javy just goes retarded. Not only can he not handle it mentally, he loves hanging breaking balls. This isn't the first time he's gotten creamed in his career. I just don't see him changing.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) When has Garcia been anything near good against a good team? Not that I am saying he has been dominant vs them, but are you being sarcastic again? Because Vazquez has been terrible vs everyone this year good or bad teams. With the exception of his good starts in the beginning of the season vs a minor league team named KC and 2 good games vs Cleveland.

Oh and I would rather have Garcia pitch the occasional big game and do good rather than have someone SPIFF on themselves every game.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
Yeah our hitting has been terrible. Leaving guys on base all game along it seems like every game. Its quite frustrating especially when we are pitching like spiff and when we do pitch good we ruin scoring opportunites.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
5.5 back has to feel really good right now especially the way were going compared to the Twins and Tigers...

Keepin' that Motown Mojo = Sox @ Tigers
Javy loves this s***. He is f***ing terrible. UGH!

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
Its the damn Rally CREDE!!! Hell yes! Very happy to hear we won and hopefully everyone follows suit with Jon. Go get them damn Tigers and start a few long winning streaks!

Jon Garland, back to form?
I am a big Garland supporter and I am very very pleased with his last few starts. I knew he could turn it around. While he did piss me off the first few months, this is the time we need him to keep doing what he's doing and hopefully everyone else copies his success. Even Contreras because he hasn't been the same guy since he came off the DL. Not that I expected him to keep tossing dominant games, but he has lately disapointed me.

Kevin Mench on the block...
You could also put it like Farmio said "Heres Mench and this guy has a big dome." Lol! Farmio with the street cred.

So where's Jay been?
I heard it on my way to work. I don't know if I caught it in the middle since he was already talking when I tuned in. He said he doesn't care that Ozzie was calling him names, but didn't agree with the f** statement. North asked him if he ever used that term with friends or anyone and he said no. Jay said that he just took a vacation and that nothing happened with his job. He also said that he doesn't understand why the sox are so mad at him because he talks about the sox the same way he talks about the cubs, bears, etc. He said that JR is a little too sensative and whiney with his little squeaky wheels reference. Says he would meet with Ozzie as long as there are no cameras.
