QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) This might not be too bad of a deal if it were Vazquez for Rowand straight up... I mean yes AROW is struggling but we all know he is capable of getting hot... and lets face is Vazquez has hardly any value because of that awful contract he has... If we can get AROW, dump Vazquez, and not have to pay any of his contract then I take that deal in a second. However we'd have to make a seperate trade for bullpen help... and no deal on Mack... Who is going to replace him in rotation or who is going to replace bmac in the bullpen. That's not even considering bmac and how he would feel going into the rotation.

Shingo Misses Chicago, Loves Guillen
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The last line about him not being able to say that he wants to come back loud just struck me. Almost like you could feel the love the guy had for the organization and how much he enjoyed his time here. It really is unfortunate things didn't work out better for him because he was a fan favorite. You would think that after changing his whole life so much to pitch over here that he would be more like, "Oh well I gave it a try" but no. He still would like to come back, not just the majors, but to Chicago. That has to say something. I wonder why he wouldn't go to the minor leagues for a little to see what could have happened last year. -
We Play Detroit 13 Times Second Half
Whitewashed in '05 replied to LVSoxFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
While I do think our team knows they have to step it up or at least keep playing like we have been I don't think they are scared. Detroit should be the ones looking over their shoulder even if we do face tougher teams. I just f***ing hope our pitching starts getting a lot better because we are playing teams that either have a comparable offense or great pitching. If they keep pitching like s*** (mainly Vazquez and Garcia) then we might be in some trouble. Also Garland has to keep it up, he's been pitching good. -

<FutureSox.com>Liotta Sent Down; Russell To Birmingham
Whitewashed in '05 replied to a topic in FutureSox Board
Damn, I didn't know Liotta was having that much trouble. Hopefully he can get back to putting up good numbers. -
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) i love rowand... but anderson is getting his s*** together, and no matter how badly he has pitched, vazquez is valuable to this team. Yeah Anderson is good. I definitley believe he'll be okay. Vazquez... I don't know. He had some good games earlier in the year vs some crappy teams, but lately he's just been getting hammered. For some reason I have the feeling that he's not going to work out, at least not to the standards that the team had for him. Hopefully though he can start giving us some quality starts because he f***ing sucks.

Yankees/Reds discussing "huge" deal
Whitewashed in '05 replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) I find it hard to believe that Arroyo would be involved. He hasn't performed like he did at the beginning of the year as of late, but he's signed relatively cheaply for the next three years. I think he's only done bad his last two starts. -
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Well, thats enough home run derby for me. Time to watch Mr. Belvedere. I'm done as well... Gotta write a dumb speech for tomorrow.

f***... Oh well. Still proud of ya Dye. Keep it up in the 2nd half.
-
Good job Dye.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) I know. I just don't like to see that our only starter representative is Buehrle with his 4+ ERA. Yeah that sucks, but before his last 2 starts he had a very low 3. As long as he gets himself together for the 2nd half is cool with me because we need him.
-
Holy crap I got scared for a sec... no problem with me.

Schmidt might be doing good, but I don't care. I wouldn't give up Bmac straight up for this guy. Hell no. Another thing, if KW and Ozzie didn't like Anderson so much he would be in AAA. He isn't going anywhere either. If KW is interested in Schmidt it isn't for Bmac and/or Anderson.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) Brandons mechanics are in flux this year, probably due to the new job role and just to the usual inconsistancies from year to year. When bmac was pitching last year. His fastball was located very well, his curve was thrown for strikes and his changeup was throwing low. This year his fastball is riding high, he is more over the top this year and you have a propensity of leaving that pitch up if you dont following through on an over the top delivery. He is having hard times throwing his curve and his change for strikes. If bmac can get his control back, and to keep his ball down he will be fine. Yep I agree. Just because he is struggling this year does not mean that "he sucks" so to say. We know he can do the job, but the bullpen adjustment has not been easy. I have complete faith in Bmac to straighten out next season when he gets put in his correct position. Just to show how true what you said is just look at his last few outings. He left the FB up a few times each outing and they have been hammered.

I guess I can say that Politte still might have some value based on 05. I just don't know why and how much because he has been just been beyond terrible. As far as Hermie replacing him I'd like to see him up with the big club for a few innings before we pass on trading for someone. In my opinion, get someone else. KW already took a risk in leaving the bullpen how it was at the beginning of this season and he hasn't been burned too badly, but he still can be if he again decides to leave it as is and go with what we have. The way Detroit is playing and I just don't know how they can still be that good, we need someone who we know can do the job.
-
Not really a good comparison at all. There are many things this ball club has that 2003 never did. One of the most important is a 5th starter.
-
LOL, remember the tight game vs the Twins last year, "AND NO HE DROPS THE BALL DAMN!!!!!."

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) I was at the train yesterday on my way home, and I said to a girl that I'd begun chatting up, I said, "D'you like any sports?" and she said, "I like baseball." Some old guy came up to us and yelled, "CUBS AND RED SOX ALL THE WAY!" and I said, "Ouch, you like both of those teams?" He said, "As long as it's not the Yankees, man I hate the Yankees, the Yankees buy it all, man, and they never go anywhere." "The way I see it," I said, "the Red Sox are the Yankees with a little less money, and a lot less success." "That's 'cause we're cursed!" "Yeah, well, with payrolls like the ones you typically carry, you should be able to make any curse lift." "We did, man, but those Yankees, they suck." Then I turned to the girl and she said, "I'm a Sox fan." Guy says, "All right, another one!" and she said, "White Sox" curtly. The train arrived, and he got into a different car than us because he was, I guess, intimidated by a loaded Orange Line car. God, do I hate talking to Cubs fans or Red Sox fans. LOL thats funny. I will be there on Sat.

I'm pretty much done with Javier Vazquez.
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) I don't think those guys had the best offense in baseball behind them. They weren't traded for a young stud and another decent reliever as well. And they sure as hell weren't making 10.5 million dollars. Sorry, try again. When Wright won 14 in 02 the sox were around the top in runs scored. They might not have been consistent, but they could bomb the s*** out of a pitcher. Anyone know what Wright's been up to since he's had the surgery? -
QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Whenever something exciting is happening, you can't even tell on the radio because neither Farmer nor Singleton show any enthusiasm as something is happening. It drives me nuts. That's what I've been saying all along. Their calls to big plays are horrible. "Swing and a long one to left and its gone a solo homer." Very meh... Actually I forgot who homered last night while him and Singleton were talking, but he quickly interrupted to call the homer. That was one of the better calls I've heard from him... The PK GS was the best though. They both need to add more of their own signatures. I like the "swing and a long one" and "light it up," but he needs more.
