Sox (11-21) vs Mariners (15-17) 5/6 @ 9:10 CSN
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) just can't catch a break. Looks like Humber pitched his ass off again. And he will be out of the rotation so Mr. Glass can come back.

Sox (11-21) vs Mariners (15-17) 5/6 @ 9:10 CSN
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:39 PM) Of course he should be fired and 3-4 guys sent down. Either our GM won't do it or the owner won't let him. Every night is the same. Sox might lose 100 games this year. Laugh all you want at that statement. This team can't win on the road and can't win at home. JR ain't gonna pay Ozzie almost two full years of pay for sitting on his ass as a non-White Sox employee. Sadly, that's the reason he won't be gone.

Sox (11-21) vs Mariners (15-17) 5/6 @ 9:10 CSN
QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:39 PM) Is anyone here shocked? I've accepted it as fact that the White Sox are going to lose 100 games this year. We're not that bad, but I actually find this hilarious. Part of me was hoping we lost. I am just so done with Ozzie and apparently the only way Ozzie will be fired is to lose 20 in a row or something.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
AJ showing nicely tonight with that 0-for-4 hitting and 0-for-1 throwing.

Jeff Teague = Brandon Jennings. Games are so similar. They look alike. They might be the same person.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) fixed Agreed. We can win this series without Boozer, but no way can we beat the Heat without him (and yes, I am assuming the Heat will win, not far fetched) being closer to full strength.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) False. He is above average at the mindf*** game. And knee-to-groin shots. He actually is an All-Star in that aspect.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:21 AM) My point is you are trying to turn today into the free agent market 6 months ago. Unless you are a big Miguel Olivo or Tyler Flowers fan, there really weren't better options out there. John Buck. Ramon Hernandez. Miguel Olivo. Russell Martin. Yorvit Torrealba. All were better free agent options.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:13 AM) So his performance to this point is indicative of how good the free agent market was over the winter? Uh, ok. My point is that he is the worst catcher in baseball. There were clearly options better than him in free agency or trade. What about AJ's game is there to like?

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
QUOTE (scenario @ May 6, 2011 -> 10:35 AM) We kept AJ because: - Flowers has not stepped up - Other available options weren't attractive - And KW did not want to go into the season with Castro as the starter Not because of 'loyalty' to AJ. Yeah his .573 OPS is quite indicative of being the best on the market. Then you make a trade for someone. He had a .688 OPS last year, there were definitely better options out there. AJ plain blows. And I should add that he is 3/20 in catching base stealers. There is no part of AJ's game now that is even average. He sucks as a hitter (he is on pace for 15 f***ING WALKS!!), sucks on defense and sadly is durable so he plays all the f***ing time. It's not a stretch to say we have the worst catcher in baseball. I don't care what our minor league options were, clearly there was a better option in free agency or via trade. It's impossible that there wasn't since AJ is so god damn awful. Sorry for ranting, I just become so dumbfounded when a player can be on pace to walk 15 times in one season. I just cannot fathom how he plays in the big leagues with that plate approach.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
If the Sox had any balls, they would keep Humber in the rotation and move someone else out. Herein lies the problem with the organization, they are so committed to this loyalty and not ruining the status quo s*** that they become an inferior team. I would easily take Jackson out or Buerhle out for that matter. We kept AJ outta loyalty. He blows. We take Humber out of the rotation for loyalty. We keep Guillen/Walker outta loyalty. They both blow. I could go on and on.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 09:45 AM) I liked Humber's chances this year more than just about anyone else here, but I won't even go that far. Buehrle is just not good anymore. I'll take the guy with pretty darn good stuff who is pitching like a stud now over the guy who can't throw above 87 MPH. Buehrle is done being a solid pitcher, at most now, he is average. He is due for a typical Buehrle outing when he gives up 8 runs and his ERA balloons to over 5.

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 08:25 AM) Please don't tell me you think Humber really is better than any of our other starters... Humber > Buehrle. I feel very confident saying that.

You are KW/JR. You have the power
Fire KW. Fire Ozzie. Fire Walker. Promote Hahn to GM. Let Cora be interim GM, and see if he can be a full-time manager. And two the naive people defending KW, he has won two divisions in ten years as GM -- and that's with the divisions highest payroll year in and year out.

Most disappointing Sox team
QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 09:33 AM) 2006...that was a great, exciting team up until Iguchi's game winning single heading into the ASB. That was like a 14-inning game against the Red Sox right? Single down the third base line?

Osama Bin Laden Dead
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2011 -> 10:10 AM) Here is a twist that I fully expected to see, but I had no idea it had started years ago. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...war-terror.html If he had been dead for seven years, there is no doubt it would have been leaked by someone in the U.S. government at some point over the last seven years.

Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) There will be free agent signings, just not right away. It can't be until the lockout is resolved, which judging by the 8th Circuit's tendencies would not be lifted by them, which will force the groups to back to mediation. Then the players might appeal to the US Supreme Court, and by the time football starts, the UDFAs will not enough time to likely to learn playbooks and team will have enough raw guys with their rookies. Add in the UDFAs that will go the CFL/UFL, the pool of UDFAs that go to the NFL this year will be very very very limited.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) What are the chances that Austin falls to the Bears? I really think the Bears need to trade up for him since I doubt he gets down to 62. If you draft him, you have solved two of the biggest holes on the teams with two uberly talented players. Of course, that is assuming Angelo actually knows how tom consummate a trade during the draft.

The GREAT Daniel Hudson
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) In all seriousness, you would need four to five years to make Sergio Santos a starter. It is like asking a 100 meter runner to run the marathon. He has zero conditioning in that arm right now. Yeah, and he doesn't even have the background of being a starter like other pitchers. The last time he was a starter was 2001 in high school, he simply can't move to a starter now.

Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) Although NFL players were being welcomed back to team facilities this morning because of Judge Susan Nelson’s injunction to end the lockout, that is changing this afternoon. ESPN is reporting that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit has granted a temporary stay of the injunction and reinstated the lockout, meaning players will now be told to hit the road, and doors to team facilities are being locked this afternoon. Michael Silver of Yahoo reported this afternoon that NFL players were bracing for a ruling from the Court of Appeals that would give the owners an “administrative” stay, meaning the lockout would be back on at least through the weekend. Owners are such d-bags. More than 50% of NFL players after their playing days have horrible lives because of injuries, lack of medical insurance, money issues (this is their own fault though), there is no way players should have to take a pay cut. Yeah, it's probably ridiculous that Manning earns like $20 million, but he is the rare breed.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) No no no, that's a quote from Newsome from 2002 or 2003 when they did the same thing to Minnesota. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:18 AM) That quote is from 2003 when the Ravens agreed to a trade with the Vikings but never called in. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:18 AM) That. TY. Nevermind then, Bears probably owe the Ravens the pick here in good faith.
