  1. Buehrle having a lot of trouble putting away hitters.
  2. "Handing a pop up" WOW. Come Missile, bomb one into the seats.
  3. We may need some big O today. buehrle is gonna give up a big inning soon.
  4. They are seeing Buehrle very well so far.
  5. let's go Sox!! come on Mark!! Let's start this season off well.
  6. One of the keys is a salad at some point in the day. One it can be filling, two it gets you some of your most important nutrients. I always eat one with spinach, shredded carrots, broccoli, peas and low-fat ranch dressing. Sometimes, I'll put croutons or bacon bits to get some flavor. For most of my life, I have never been a veggie person, but now I love em.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) Is it set in stone that Wise will be leading off? I've been hoping for a while that Getz would win the 2B job and lead off, with Anderson in CF. Cowley via Twitter just said it's official. No platoon either. I wouldn't be surprised if Alexei hits two now to go L/R. But that would be two horrible OPB players 1-2. Just very questionable to give Wise the leadoff when Getz looks better there. Hopefully it works out.
  8. Buehrle: "Absolutely not" HAHA
  9. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) Nice to see the Sox know what they are doing. I wanted to like Owens, but he just can't hit worth a lick. Posting during class? Clyde won't be happy.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 12:19 PM) REJOICE! I think Dwayne and Anderson can be a solid platoon in CF for us, but I hope KW is looking to strengthen CF around the deadline.
  11. Mac is gonna make the team. He has earned it though with a great spring. If he has good control, he can be lights out.
  12. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 06:37 PM) I have a similar issue as above. I am a runner (20-25 miles per week) and also cannot keep weight on. I'm currently 6'1" 160 pounds. My goal is to add 10-15 pounds of muscle. I lift 3 days a week, run the other 4 and have been doing so for about a month now with minimal results. Any ideas as to ways... other than the almighty and all expensive protein which I currently drink after every workout... to add muscle? Does anyone have any ideas as to websites that might be able to give me a better plan? And for the record, a trainer is right out. I use the gym at my apartment complex and am definitely not willing to pay the money for a trainer. Thanks. I am very much like you as a runner, although I ran close to 50 miles per week. But my guess is you are not eating enough, just plain calories. Since you have a pretty good balance of strength and cardio training, you can afford to eat a lot, probably close to 3,000 which I usually consume every day. What is your basic diet plan like? Calories per day?
  13. Personally, I think it should be Lucy. He has started to heat up and Miller has regressed some point. I think Lucy is a better defender and has better arm, but Miller is more experienced with ML pitchers. I want some fresh legs rather than some old vet who has never hit well in the majors. Your thoughts?
  14. Versteeg just had one of the sicker goals of the season. Just great maneuvering by him behind the goal line to get in scoring position.
  15. What a performance by Mizzou. Shoot FTs like tonight against UCONN and we won't win. But this is crazy. If they can get Thabeet in foul trouble, I like their chances. Leo is also one of the best players in the country at drawing fouls, so that could be something to watch.
  16. Pitching Pitching Pitching and some D. We are going to hit most of the year and score runs. If our runs allowed is in the top 4 in the AL, we will be in the playoffs. Twins will pitch, but can't hit with us. Indians can hit and pitch 1-3 will us, but not 4-5. Tigers are overpaid and old. KC is young and energetic, but too inexperienced. We pitch, we win.
  17. Seen: 1) World Series Game (Sox) 2) NBA Championship Game Clincher (Bulls) 3) Court-storm game (Mizzou/KU) 4) Cooperstown 5) Fenway Park on a Sunday Want: 1) Yellowstone National Park 2) Stanley Cup Finals Game 3) Hawaii 4) Jerusalem (good choice, so I'm taking it) 5) Alaska.

Maybe in the next episode, something will happen to Big Ben. Then, the universe will have corrected itself.
  19. If he could play SS, he would be the perfect super-sub because he could play all over the place and get 400-450 at-bats, but he can't play SS and I worry about his D at 3rd and 2nd, too. But he will be useful as pinch hitter late in games.
  20. I think we should just put Betemit in CF and screw defense. (sarcasm) But seriously, his bat needs to be in the lineup often because he can rake, just needs consistent ABs.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) Geezus Mizzou. That was way too hard. Marquette's scorers were just ridiculous. James was just added depth as expected, but it didn't hurt. Hard to immediately look ahead, but I would love nothing more than to have Mizzou be the team to knock out Memphis. They're gonna have to play better than this. Last Conference USA coach to beat Memphis is...Mike Anderson with UAB. Just saying.
