  1. YES!!!!! pop out!!!1
  2. Why we we trade our Garland? He is signed cheaply (for the market) and he actually goes out there and pitches well. I don't care who you get, the player that comes back will not pitch like Garland.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) Do you suppose 27 Ks for Zambrano is a possibility? No, because he will inevitably walk somebody and that runner who actually gets on will likely do something stupid on the base paths and get picked off, thrown out, something to get an out that was not via the K.
  4. KW looks to effing pissed like he just wants to go strangle someone.
  5. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) Is today's game on WGN? yes and on Comcast. WGN = Len and Bob. Comcast = Hawk and DJ.
  6. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) welcome back owens It'll prolly be Pods (if ready) or Sweeney.
  7. I truly hope Juan swings at three bad pitches to show what a s***ty hitter he is. He is not a starting shortstop and his plays at short recently have confirmed that.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 08:47 AM) Yep, but they said he reinjured it last week. It's to the point where we should really consider trading him. Once he gets healthy, I would agree. You offer Buehrle a good deal (5 years @ 15 million) and if he takes good if not trade him. Trade Dye, Iguchi, Contreras if you can and if all that happens, you will get yourself 10 solid prospects. Probably 3 top guys, and the rest Lance Broadway types. I think you gotta do it and then there is plenty of money to add 2-3 good FAs. That would allow for next year to be a rebuilding year where we still flirt with .500, but sets us up nicely for the future.
  9. Wow, this may not be even a save situation for the Marlins in the 9th.
  10. Sweeney is not playing in Charlotte tonight, BTW. Just saying that maybe Thome's injury is worse than first thought. Seems like today would be an odd day for an off day or maybe he has a little injury, too, but I am just starting the speculation.
  11. QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 04:24 AM) ill be at the game, not sure if ill be reppin marlins or sox or both. same with me, although I am 1-0 on the year. I want Fields to do well, but I could care less for Contreras. Had it been Buehrle, Garland, or Danks, I would hope they all perform well, but maybe Count can pitch well and improve his trade value. Surely, someone would take a World Series champion starting pitcher, but where would Jose accept a trade to is the difficult part.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) Russ Ellington, WR from Homewood, IL, becomes Chizik's first commit at ISU for 08. Heads, you got a link? I haven't been able to find anything about it.
  13. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) Lance striking out 8 people today, nice. Sounds like his curve was really biting today, and only one walk. I know he has been struggling with his control this season. I know a lot of people aren't to high on him, but he has produced at every level he's been at. He sounds like what Hawk would call a true pitcher, otherwise known as a pitcher that is very grindy. Sweeney with 2 more hits. I really want to see him up and starting in LF. We pretty much need to let him come up and get his slumps out of the way this year, so that next year we can add two or three offensive players and be a solid team again.
  14. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) Cunningham hasn't played CF all year. seriously? I swore he was a CF, guess I was wrong. Still a very good hitting prospect, nonetheless, but does lessen his value somewhat.
  15. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) Get off Cunningham's sack. Hey, he is my Sox minor league man crush. I can't help it. LOL
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 06:24 PM) How the hell can anyone feel one way or another about this trade? Prospect for prospect. 24-year-old for A-baller. Who cares. Nothing to look twice at. If this means Iguchi is out the door sooner rather than later, maybe this trade develops some sort of significance...if not, I really couldn't care less. well Aaron Cunningham is a four-tool player who is what you would call a grinder. Numbers-wise and developemental-wise Cunningham is the better player, so that part may look bad. But KW has only been burned by one trade really in his tenure, so you have to give him the benefit of the doubt here. But Cunningham was one of my favs and I think this one bites us. Cunningham is a 20/20 CF who plays good D and Richar is a solid looking 2B.
  17. Alright, Josh's home run and seeing Sweeney get his average to .300 down in AAA, I have had it with the old guys and am ready to let the youngsters play. LF-Ryan Sweeney (we aren't going anywhere this year, let him get his slumps in the majors and learn up here) CF-Brian Anderson (okay, he clearly has struggled, but most youngsters struggle there first year or two, give him his at-bats, so we know if he has improved. Brings great D and energy, of course he needs to be healthy first) RF-Dye (needs to get hot, so Sox can maximize his trade value) 3B-Fields (he is good and is just gonna get better with ABs) SS-Richar (I dont really care who is at short, but it just better not be Juan who is the worst starter in the big leagues, his D is vastly overrated because of how many stupid mental errors he makes when he doesn't concentrate, if Richar can't play short, then the we dealt a 4-tool CF for a 2nd baseman which would make the deal s***ty). 2B-Iguchi (same thing with Dye, hope he gets hot so his trade value goes up). 1B-Konerko (we still have him for 3+ years, he ain't going anywhere) DH-Thome C-AJ (no options other than him, even though his game is declining everyday) This lineup is gonna struggle no doubt to score runs, but our current lineup is not doing much. I would rather go down (which is inevitable anyway) with youngsters getting the playing time. You can get Ryan 300 at bats in the majors the rest of the year and watch him progress, same with Anderson. Brian was our first round pick and he needs to play to see if he can be counted on as a starter in the future or not. I for one thing he has gotten a s*** job by Ozzie. KW let the kids play. Thoughts?
  18. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) Maybe Reinsdorf's worst move ever was leaving AM 1000- The coverage is awful and that stations morning creature has caused unecessary trouble for the team. All just to promote HIMSELF. The morning person has done more to hurt the team than people realize. No one on the team should have to put up with insults. They may not be very good, but they are trying. Does anyone think that the Sox have some sort of "out" in their contract to leave that classless frequency for a respectable station? Also by moving WSCR, the Sox could be heard farther away from Chicago since the Score's signal travels much further than ESPN's. That is also kind of a big deal and the money that WSCR bought the Sox for, too.
  19. I kinda want to hope for losses, but as a Sox fan I just can't. I am in a pickle.
  20. It's looking pretty certain that tonight's game is gonna be homer ball. Whoever hits the most solo bombs wins and we need to get at least 2, perferably 4 or 5.
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 06:41 PM) f***. Javy can't hit a curve either! hey two of his swingers were better than JD's, let alone half the lineup.
