  1. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 07:45 AM) ...IF he keeps his .300 BA that is yeah, if Frank gets 530 at bats next year, he will have to hit at least .249 to keep his .300 average b/c that would leave him with 2541 hits in 8483 at bats, whichi is an average of .29954 and that rounds up to .300. Correct my math people, but it gonna be close for Frank.
  2. Mizzou destroyed Texas Tech today. It was sweet.
  3. Sampson is just a shady coach who, in his attempts to get recruits, will do just about anything. I don't like IU to begin with, but people with his reputation just don't change, so IU knew exactly the risk they were taking when hiring Samscum.
  4. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 09:31 AM) I guess I'm just surprised with the reaction of the fan base. I'm a big Illinois fan, but I don't follow recruiting much. For the last 2-3 years it seems like the expectations for Webers recruiting have been so unreasonably high (essentially each class must have 3 or 4 5* recruits). I'm surprised everyone is happy about three guys who aren't at that level. Bertrand and DJ are four-star recruits. And Paul is the wild-card, Weber is hoping he got the next Iman Shumpert before everyone else got to him. I believe all three will be top 75 recruits by the end of next year. Let's not forget, Bertrand is not done growing, Paul is just starting to come into his own and DJ is the easiest to predict of all three. DJ is gonna be a solid, but probably not spectacular college bball player. Paul can be great and as easily can be just average, same goes for Bertrand. But Weber liked what he saw in these three and got them. I trust Weber's coaching and scouting to get these playeras wherever they are ranked to be very good college bball player.
  5. This is pretty sick for Illinois. If Simpson verbals too like everyone says, it will be a huge effort by Bruce and whomever was in on all of this. Hopefully, this will make Crandall and AJ also verbal fearing their spots may be taken. How sweet would it be if Bruce did not have to do anymore recuiting for '08, '09 and '10 and start concentrating on '11. He would get a huge start on everyone else. All in all a great day for BW and I feel happy for him because he is a true good guy in college basketball.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 10:37 AM) Well to me, suck means not in the NCAA Tournament for Illinois, and the teams the next 2 years, IMO, can't possibly do as well as last years team, which was basically the last team to get an invite to the dance. HOWEVER, with that said, I think all those fans who said Bruce could fix a lot of things by improving his staff of assistants look to be right at the moment. Losing Tracy Webster may have been the best thing to ever happen to this program long term when you look at the work Jerrance is getting done already, as it seems Richmond's commit is still solid and now you have Paul and Richardson on board. Simpson should be the first 2008 verbal soon, and the Illini NEED to get at least 1 guard out of that class IMO, or else they will have to stard Steve Holdren at guard in 2008-2009 or something. But the long term prognosis of the program has drastically improved, because if they can just recruit at an average level, things look good since we know Bruce can coach. My anger at Bruce will continue to be instense as long as Jamar Smith is in the program, but he's getting a lot of problems in terms of recruiting fixed it appears. Inside info? Rumor?...
  7. According to Chicagohoops.com (http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/brandonpaului.html) Brandon Paul has also verballed to Illinois. Impressive day for Weber, but he has got to keep this going and get Colvin, Taylor, et al.
  8. QUOTE(Shadows @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) Thats nice to see everyone thinks Mendenhall is the front runner for the Heisman thus far I am pretty sure there are alot of Illini fans voting on this poll. I did, too being a Illini fan, but just saying, its not really a great indicator.
  9. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:07 AM) amen brotha. The game was so crazy, the crowd was going nuts(for a mizzou game that is special) and the night game was tight (ended around midnight!). Slaughterage. T Rucker is sick. If the ball is within 10 feet of Coffman, he will find a way to catch it. Chase is just one hell of a college football player and I can't wait for him to get some more Heisman hype. I think 11th in the ESPN/USA Today and 12th in the AP, but I wouldn't be surprised to be in the top ten. Sweet night last night.
  10. Columbia, MO will be rocking tonight for Nebraska and Zook, give the ball to Rashard every frickin time.
  11. Valverde close this game so all the Cubs fans can shut up.
  12. Prison Break, Beauty and the Geek (maybe I shouldn't have admitted to it,) the Office right now. And when Scrubs comes back on and 24. Scrubs is, IMO, the best show on TV. All the characters are funny in their own way and the writing is great.
  13. National Championship: Cincinatti vs. Missouri, oh yeah. Can't wait to see how polls shakeout today, but really nothing matters till October 13th ish when the BCS comes out. I predict Mizzou to 17 and Illinois to 33.
  14. It is clear that if the Sox want to contend next year in the AL, we need a starting CF (starting caliber,) a shortstop, another starter and 2-3 solid bullpen arms. For all those needs and for those to be good players, it will cost upwards of $30 million dollars. With our payroll at nearly $100 million already, there is no way we can add on that much payroll. Don't be hopeful this off-season, Hunter is not coming to the Sox because he costs too much, Rowand might have played him out of the Sox's price range, so we will be left with Jerry Owens and Omar Vizquel, as the solutions.
  15. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Why don't you just have them send them to school? Cause its every two weeks, so I can live seeing those a little late. However, I do get my Sporting News here at schools, cause I would not be able to live without it.
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 12:06 PM) I think you got the magazine in the mail already. Nope, I am at school and they are sent home, so I dont get BAs till I get back home in two weeks. Am I right? I was wrong about Poreda and Moreno, so I could not have been cheating.
  17. I am going to say third behind Colorado's Ray Rouster who put up some sick numbers this year nd TBs Jeremy Hellickson who is young and had a great year. This of course is assuming that Fautino qualifies, which I believe he does, and those top 2 guys are just by looking at stats and age, nothing more. I also expect Gomes and Carter to be 15-20 guys while I think Shelby just misses the cut. So what do you guys think?

I have one and its sweet. For baseball, its perfect. For football, its okay. For basketball, its pretty bad, but you can hear announcers and sort of see the game. For general TV watching, its solid. I use it to watch Prison Break, the Office and Scrubs. So far no problems.
  19. And no Moreno...I just cannot see how you can leave him off that list. 11 walks in 90 innings, come on, not even top 20, please.
  20. Griffin would have been on the list had he pitched enough innings, so that is nice to see.
  21. Who else thinks that Poreda has a great shot at being top 2, maybe number one? Jordan Walden, Juan Moreno seem like the closest competition. I looked at the stats and did not see any guys batting that I would take over Aaron. We will see tomorrow, but any one else get the feeling he will be number one?
  22. Hahn could also be waiting for the Cubs job, too. I mean if the Cubs fail to make the playoffs again, Jim Hendry's job might be in jeopardy and Hahn is from Chicago, so he may be waiting for the Cubbie job.
  23. This next draft for the Sox is going to be the biggest one in the past twenty years probably. We will have a top 5 pick and possibly second or even first. If we don't get a perennial all-star, then well I dont know what I will do. But the sad thing is this front office may already be blown up before we can determine if that draftee was a bust or not. But top 5 pick, we need an impact player in the biggest way, hopefully a bat (Pedro Alvarez, can i dream?)
  24. Aaron Crow from Missouri is also a possible top 5 pick, he throws 93-98 with a good slider.
