  1. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) It didn't take long for the bullpen to "embarrass" Kenny Williams. The offense has been awful for a far longer period, yet it has not embarrassed Kenny. Why does it take so much longer for the offense to embarrass Kenny? Cause KW is ignorant to the fact that these guys are old and suck. Seriously, Crede is done in sox uni, Juan just is too incosistent and we need a new SS next year. We don't have a LF or CF, right now. Our RF is getting old and losing bat speed quickily. Our Catcher is homerun or nothing. Paulie, god bless what he has done for this organization, but is just so frustrating right now because he is basically a 0 tool player at the moment. No average, no power, clearly no speed, not great D because of his range and an average arm.
  2. New reliever time, yay!! strike one, holy f***. i dont care what he does that was amazing for one of our relievers.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) Besides to torture me, why hasnt Walker been canned by now. If any other team had an offensive output like this. He would be unemployed. Here we put out reports of how great he is, and how they love him. Cause he is a true White Sox. Played with the team in the past and now comes back. Our organization can be too loyal sometimes. It is time for him to go.
  4. That shows you how bad Paulie is right now. He prolly hit one of the hardest balls all year for him right there and it was about 80 feet from the track. Hawk just shut up about these players getting ready to take off. BTW, Mack nice DP.
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:56 PM) i miss the old sox who would claw their way back into this one. yeah, so do I. Just about a year ago, I would still feel like we would score at least 5.
  6. Seriously, I think we blow leads and play more inept offense for Mark than it seems any other team does for one of their starters. Is it just me or do we just die when Mark pitches?
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) He's given up 5 runs in 5 and a third innings against a tied for last place team, including 4 in this inning. I can't go and find that impressive. He wasn't even hit that hard, A-Rod's was crushed, but everything else was good hitting by very good hitters.
  8. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) 4-1 F***! Come on, those last two runs didn't matter. We aren't going to score more anyways. Just consider this a favor from the Sox. The more runs they score, the easier it is to change teh channel, instead of seeing a one run lead from the Yankees where we get nobody on and try for the homerun.
  9. The Sox offense loses another one for Mark. Obviously, Mark did not pitch great this inning, but when you have no margin for error every single time you pitch, bad things are bound to happen. Seriosuly, we need some Josh Fields in the line-up. He makes the play on Jeter likely and gives us a hot bat.
  10. A-Rod is gonna make it a 5-1 game.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) Damon and his slider speed bat gets a perfect pitch to go oppo on. Whoever called that pitch is not very smart. I beg to differ, that wasn't a bad pitch, just a great job of hitting by one of the best the past decade.
  12. Fields not playing for Charlotte tonight, I think he may be on a plane to Chicago...
  13. Josh Fields is not starting for Charlotte tonight. Is he on his way to Chicago? I hope so...
  14. All I got to say, and its not directed at you because you said you were in favor of the deals, World Series Championship in 2005 or moderate success with these two players right now?
  15. maggsmaggs replied to BearSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Fields not playing for Charlotte today, could he be called up or just an off-day? i really would prefer him to Crede right now.
  16. IMO, nothing beats the re-enactment of the slide by last year's guy. This new one almost seem premeditated while the one last year was just amazingly funny.
  17. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Yep, Kenny must be drugging his Cheerios every morning. And Cotts did a lot this season to show that Kenny made the wrong decision in the Aardsma trade. :oldrolleyes When will Soxtalk ever put blame on the players for not performing? My guess is never. We all blame Vazquez for sucking when he does, same with the entire team. People around year blame everybody equally IMO. It is KW's fault for building a s***ty team, OG doesn't manage the s*** players he has well and they are s*** players because they just suck and are old. When a team struggles, its everybody's fault, but since you can't get rid of every player, it seems like the blame is directed at the men in charge, KW and Oz.
  18. Where is the armchair owner thread? KW needs to go.
  19. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 06:29 AM) Right now, the sox are 3 games back of a playoff spot. Despite their scoring 100 less runs than Detroit, and have almost 50 runs less than even the Twins. Even though the sox should have a far worse record based on some horrible, horrible games [which probably contributes to the doom and gloom], IMO, they don't need a dramatic re-organization. If anyone would have guessed the sox would be last in the AL in runs scored, and like 27th in all of baseball, and last in almost all offensive categories, no one would have believed it. And few options were out there that would have helped them when only 1 guy in the lineup is hitting at least their career norm. No team is going to replace 8 regulars who can't even hit their weight. That the sox are even .500 hitting so bad is amazing. I agree the sox need some new blood in on offense. Yet that seems to be plan B. Plan A was getting young pitching to compete year in and year out. That plan seems to be going well, with Danks, Masset, Gio, Russell, Egbert coming on. Fields and Sweeney should be regulars in 2008. The sox can work them into the bottom of the lineup if they get a guy like Ichiro for leadoff. All in all, the sox aren't near as bad [this year or in the next few years] as everyone makes them out to be. I admire your optimism, but I see us going nowhere. Buehrle isn't going to be back. Count has got maybe one more good year in him. Vaz is overpaid and inconsistent, his 3.95 ERA will be back around 4.5 soon enough. Our bullpen has got a great closer, but nothing else and nothing on the horizon. We have one ML ready prospect, and even that's debatable in Fields. Sweeney needs to get a lot stronger, ALOT. Anderson is done in this organization cause OZ f***ed him over. He is prolly our most talented minor leaguer and we screwed with him. Gio is a good looking starter, but he has injury concerns and strength issues, so he is prolly a second or third starter. Russell still needs a lot of work, so does Massett. Egbert does good in AA, but that is big ballpark he pitches in with not great stuff, he is nothing more than a backend rotation guy if that no matter what Heads tells you. Our line up features old players with arrows pointing down on everybody. Juan has peaked, Tad has, Crede clearly has, Konerko god bless what he did for us the past couple years, but he is old; Thome is old, Dye has lost it, AJ is just not a good hitter anymore, Walker has hurt him bigtime; Erstad is well nothing. We are not in a good position. Organization talent wise (combining both the majors and minors) we are somewhere between 20-30.
  20. I luv Hawk. Even he is getting to the point where he is just done with this team. If this happens a couple more times, he might just blow up on the television at this team.
  21. The saddest thing about this whole bullpen thing is if you combined the Sox bullpen and Cubs bullpen, you would still only have Bobby Jenks as a good reliever. Maybe Dempster. Why does Chicago always suck with bullpens and places like San Diego and Minnesota make it look so easy when they sign journey men guys who do amazing? Its gotta be the maanger doing his job and putting guys in the right position to succeed, right?
  22. Send f***ing Aardsma and MacDougal down to AAA, they both suck. Macdougal actually can't be sent down, so f***ing release his ass, i dont care what he has done in the past or that he is signed till 09, he needs to go. Prinz and Vasquez should be called up.
  23. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 08:09 AM) I would imagine De Los Santos and Russell are the ones that have experienced the most movement. Egbert is coming out of nowhere to many Sox fans as well. Last night, I don't think Slowey threw one pitch over 90 for the Twins, but he only gave up one run, and of course Bert Blyleven was already comparing him to Radke with his command and changes of speed. If we can ever get anything out of Kris Honel at the major league level, that would be a very pleasant surprise. Of course, for every positive story, there are two negative ones...Francisco Hernandez, Liotta, Valido, Stumm, Malone, etc. Francisco is still young and doing solid in low-A. He may not be the potential all-star catcher that people thought he might be a couple years ago. But I still feel like at worst he is a solid back-up catcher because he is great at defense, has a terrific arm and can switch hit and actually hit pretty solidly. The others though are pretty much busts. Liotta had a tough season last year since his family was hit pretty hard by Katrina, so he might just need a season to shake off the consequences of that.
  24. I have made up my mind about the two guys I want, either Devin Mesoraco or Michael Main. Devin Mesoraco is a catcher who has a 70-rated arm on the scout's scale, not to mention a quick release. We really need a solid catching prospect to go along with the rawness of Francisco Hernandez. Also from Pennsylvania, so used to playing in cold. Also blocks very well and plays very solid D, according to Baseball America. So far on the season, he was batting .500 and has above-average tools across the board, making him a 5-tool player at catcher. I like him alot. Rated as the 24th best prospect, he might make it to us at 25. The other guy I really like is Michael Main who is rated the 23rd best prospect. He can be an impact pitcher or a 5-tool outfield prospect. As a pitcher he throws easy heat into the high 90's with movement. He also has a good feel for his cuve and already an above-average changeup. As a hitter, he is a switch hitter and has solid approach. He is a very fast base runner. He has had some tendinitis issues that make him rated down by us, without he is probably a top 15 pick. He has been compared to Tim Hudson. Overall, I really feel like this pick needs to be a high schooler with potential. I see Main as a riskier pick than Mesoraco, but I feel like both could help the organization immensely, especially with Mesoraco being a very good catching prospect. Thoughts?
  25. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) Thomas has not committed to Ohio State: I could tell you, but I won't It has to do with boosters, correct? O$U??
