  1. Rumors on Scout's OSU board that DeShuan Thomas, the top rated player in the 2010 class verbally committed to OSU. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?S=145&F=3156&T=575907 I don't know how Matta does it, but the man is pretty much a class act when he does interviews and is a very amiable guy. I wanted Illinois to pair him and Richmond, but I am just happy Sampson didn't get him.
  2. KW has had the highest payroll in the AL central every year since 2001 and has won one division. He needs to go, its his time. Clean out the organization, its clear we are not headed in a great direction. Our minor leagues are horrible and our major league team is old and slow, worst possible combo. Promote Rick Hahn who is a more numbers guy and not a feel guy and lets see where he takes us. And Ozzie just needs to go, plain and simple.

  4. Honestly, the most important players are not players at all, its management and specifically the GM and Manager. Those two control the team and its up to them to build the team and keep players and get rid of some. If we had a new GM and Manager, I know I would not shed a tear, as well most of you all wouldn't either. But they are, whoever "they are" are the most important.
  5. What sad way do we lose this game? I am guessing a comebacker that goes off Aardsma and no one can get it.
  6. All you can do now is laugh at this team and organization. We will be a one-hit wonder until we can develope talent. This team won't succeed unless we have a new LF, CF, SS, 2b and 3B next year. We also need 4 more bullpen arms in addition to Jenks, Aardsma and Thorton. So this team needs a lot and Kenny was ignorant to the fact in the off-season that this team had glaring holes and they just weren't fixed.
  7. f***ing Twins, typical. ball always bouncing there way.
  8. Drop the splitter or slider, whatever you have, David.
  9. Tea cup again, that first pitch is a strike for Johan.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 28, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Bring in Aardsma now This is where Aardsma does his thing. Fastball strike one and then works the corners will his split and sinker and K's the guy. Hopefully he does this.
  11. Nice job Paul there. DJ is wrong there, get the guarenteed out at home.
  12. yayy!! lets just walk him.
  13. yeah the best hitter on the Twins is up with bases loaded. Guarenteed Morneau will get one run home because he is a smart hitter and will just get some contact. But watch Boone will leave a slider over the plate and we will be down by 4.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 28, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) The f*** is Gardy freaking out for His Ace could be 5-5.
  15. Now please can Count and the bullpen shut the door. It would be such a momentum builder to beat Johan in Minny.
  16. Missouri being a regional host after losing so many pitchers last year is pretty impressive, especially when Max Scherzer (although he was injured for Mizzou parts of the year) is one of them. Missouri's pitching is basically all underclassman, so this could be a intersting CWS for them. Regardless, this year will be a good learning tool for next year when they will be one of the top 5 teams in the country, especially if they can get Nick Tepesch (top 70 player in the nation) to go to college.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 26, 2007 -> 01:25 PM) so we basically have our own version of Mark Prior Accurate description as he was described as having a Mark Prior skill-set after being drafted.
  18. And there is the ballgame. Santana will go 8 shutting us out and Nathan will slam the door on us.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 28, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) Sounds like he'll fit in with our bullpen perfectly. Ozzie needs to make sure he only faces righties. Actually he was more successful against lefties in the minors than righties. I would rather him face lefties since righties will see his slider for slightly longer and have a better chance of laying off it.
  20. We didnt need a power arm, we needed a veteran with major league experience who can throw strikes. Day is not that, but Prinz is that. I just don't get it.
  21. Day is good, but he is giving up too many hits per innings. Prinz would be a better choice, Day still needs more seasoning in my opinion. But I guess I was right when I said awhile back he would be up before the all-star break.
  22. This one especially burns with no Pods. We basically have 0 speed in our lineup or off the bench. Paging Rocco Baldelli (when healthy), Ryan Freel or Jerry Owens.
  23. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 25, 2007 -> 11:20 PM) And apparently BA said he has the best changeup in the system (EDIT, in the 2006 version at least; 07 has KMac) which I must have missed somewhere in my stalking of the guy. I still think Gio has a better chance at major league success, FWIW. Yeah, I would agree with you there. Gio has the best stuff in the system and some of the best in the minors. His curve has been called a "video game curve" and it is just plane sick. Just watch some of his pre-draft video on mlb.com and you'll see one in the middle that is not even fair. And add two solid pitches, his low- to-mid 90's fastball and change up, to a prolly 60-70 curve ball (scout rating that is) and you have something. I just really worry about his size, only 5-10 ish and pretty thin. He would be a dynamic set-up man, but I just hope we never have to see that and he can stay as a starter. With him and Danks as two lefties, we certainly are in an enviable position.
