  1. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 25, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) What makes you think Dye has any experience bunting? They are major leaguers, they should be able to bunt. Oh wait, but they are on the White Sox, so that means that can't bunt. f***. Great AB right there JD.
  2. Good Eye Jim Jim. I am so tempted to let JD bunt here, I just don't trust him with the double play.
  3. I have a feeling Jim will walk here. THey will not let him see any good pitches even with the situation.
  4. we always seem to get on big hot streaks after walk offs, so it would be nice to do it now and just go on a nice seven or eight game win streak.
  5. For me it was in 1999. And it was when Singleton hit for the cycle as a rookie against I think the Royals. I just remember that was when I became a serious Sox fan, that year. I thought Singleton was the stud and C-Lee was just okay, guess I had that wrong.

QUOTE(danman31 @ May 25, 2007 -> 02:08 AM) Yeah, thanks to some guy at the student success center telling me that. amen to that. This semester should be a breeze for me based on the teachers (Brian Brooks is apparently easy for CCJ.)
  7. I swear, Thorton balked and umps didnt see it. Actually he didnt, just looked like it at first glance.
  8. And McDougal continues to show why the Royal clan are our two worst relievers right now.
  9. Uribe should have dropped that pop up and threw Crawford out at 2nd. Then you slow ass Wigginton at first instead of speedy Crawford.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 25, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Unless we have one helluva June we might as well callup Fields, Anderson, and Sweeney. Well since we play s***ty teams we might. There is no reason to bring them all up until September. We are way to close to both Det. and Clev. to throw in the towel. Neither of them have had a cold streak and we have yet to have a hot streak, so things are bound to change.
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ May 24, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) May continues to be good to Fields .310/.423/.560 And June might be good for him too...being in Chicago. Its lookin like we should've traded Crede this off-season when healthy and his trade value was high. Fields has improved his fieldeing and his k's are high, but he makes up for it with a great walk rate. I honestly cannot stand Ozuna at third anymore, he makes some amazing plays, but for the most part he is a butcher, much more than Fields could be.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2007 -> 10:25 AM) Ah ok. Im following the runners world schedule. I found my back was getting sore after the runs so I started using wed as a huge core day. I run six days a week, which is prolly bad, but since I am less than a year removed from hard-core cross country/track training, I just feel weird not running everyday.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) I think you are going to need to be a bit more specific. How old are you? Height/Weight? What are your goals? Do you have a spotter? How long do you have to work out? It isn't as easy as someone just saying go do exercise A,B,C and eat X,Y,Z. If you are looking for some basic starter info I would suggest checking out http://www.t-nation.com/category.jsp?categ...s=forumsSidebar There you can get some ideas of what works and what doesn't from people who have actually tried it. If you can let us know your goals, if you have a gym membership, what weights you have access to and other important details we might be able to help you better. 5'9", 140 lbs. 19 years old. Goals is just to get strong, not buff, but in-shape strong. I played some high school baseball but stopped that to concentrate on cross country/track and field more (yeah i know bad, but I was better at running, no fun just sitting on the bench.) So the muscle I built up from baseball training dissapeared during running, especially from very long distance running including two marathons. So basically just want to get some natural strongness, nothing to drastic, I guess toned would be the best way to describe. I have about 1.5 hours to workout, mostly mornings, then I got work in the afternoon/evening.

So this summer I decided that I would ldo some serious lifting. I know the basics, but what some good tips to get stronger? Good excersises? Supplements? I have heard about Whey protein, is it safe? Food choices? Give me some pointers here.
  15. Damn, we might have something here. 96 MPH in the late innings, wow. Could we be on the verge of a homegrown stud? As I say this, likely he will blow out his arm and never be heard from again, but his rise in the organization is something to watch. And Dan, way to be on this kid early.
  16. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 23, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) Fastball (91-94), slurve, developing change according to a MiLB report. Not trying to compare De Los Santos, but, that is pretty similar to Johan when he was a prospect. Obviosuly, Johna developed his change to a plus-plus pitch and has impeccable control, but they are similar at the same age.
  17. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...b&fext=.jsp In the name of Borat, VERY NICE!!
  18. Uh Oh, DJ home run jinx could be in affect?
  19. Faustino De Los Santos, a favorite of somebody on this board, 7 innings, 0 hits, 1 walk and 7k's. BTW, in Kanny. WOW. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...hicafx_kanafx_1 BTW, that somebody is not me, I forgot who is was, so its not like I am tooting my own horn.
  20. The sleeping giant, our offense, has awoken versus two damn good pitching teams.
  21. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 22, 2007 -> 01:24 PM) Do you actually have the subscribtion? Because the teaster just says "They're Two". Meaning the Illini are second on his list. Either that or it's a bad typo. Anyone, I'll guarntee right now he ends up at Memphis. I dont subscribe, but someone in the forum said that he mentioned Illinois first and it must have been a typo.
  22. One of Scout.com's Illinois news stories is about how DeAndre Liggins has two favorites. Since it was on Illinois' page, I am pretty sure that Illinois is one of them and since I don't subscribe I can only guess the other one, Memphis? Seems like Illinois is in great shape with him. My only hope is that CJ gets a football scholly and that gives us three for Liggins, Shumpert and Dunigan. All three in-state, Illinois has been on them a while and it would be really nice to pull three Chicago guys.
  23. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 21, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) This bullpen is gonna be the downfall of this team they can not keep making every game interesting Would not be suprised to see Brett Prinz called up shortly or even Vasquez/Reynoso for Sisco. Logan is better than Sisco right now and Sisco should be starting in the minors. Prinz as a veteran would be a welcomed addition to the pen right now. And with the way MacDougal is throwing, he could soon find himself getting meaningless innings.
  24. Getz really needs to define himself this year as a legit prospect or basically another Pedro Lopez (minor league fodder/possible utility man, but nothing too important.) I have always liked him because of his high OBP, great baseball IQ, versitilty (can play SS) and lack of strikeouts. He can really put himself on the Sox map if called up to AAA because looking at our bench right now, we could use some help. And to have a player with Getz's capabilities high OBP/low K's off the bench is pretty valuable. I realize Cintron is dealing with some issues, but he is horrible right now and not great at short, so you got a couple options Andy Gonzalez or if Getz can hit at AAA, Getz. But he is a prototypical grinder player and you know the Sox like his type. QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ May 21, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) Anderson injured his shoulder, not sure which one, how serious, etc. No further details right now. Just what we need, if he had a trade value that is gone with a shoulder injury if its serious. Let's hope not and that he continues to hit because he will likely never be back with the White Sox in a serious role.
