QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:35 AM) against detroit, ancd iirc thats when the wining streak started and hawk shaved his head. It was after that game. I remember we lost that rain-delayed game 10-9, in similar fashion to tonight.

Official NBA Playoffs Thread
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) I still don't know how the Heat got to the Finals. Is the East that pathetic? Probably. I'd deem it similiar to saying the Big Ten had a bad basketball year, since they didn't peform well in March.

GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) This is actually one of the easier losses of the year. We didn't beat ourselves today. Freddy did that himself. We took the series, and that's good enough. Agreed.

Toughest Athlete?
Joe Crede. For putting up with all the s*** and struggles to become the great Rally Crede we know today.

When you played baseball...
I primarily played outfield, and I also played some first base (when select pitchers were on the mound), from age 5 until senior year of HS.

Official Flubs Suck Thread
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) If Barrett drops his appeal right before the Cubs start their Interleague and serves then, I'm going to be so pissed. Why?

Congratulations Agustin Montero
Clifford did this last year. With only 1 blown save, he had 7 wins.

Anderson's game saving catch last night...
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) Not nearly enough Hair on that Crede... Haha, I just remember that game well. I went to 2 games that month and both were walkoff victories. That Crede walkoff was the last day we were in 1st that season.

Anderson's game saving catch last night...
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) It will be nearly impossible for him to hit .250 for the year, maybe we should just shoot him now. I have no idea how Crede survived hitting .239 in '04. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-scores...id=200407240CHA

Big Frank
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Big Frank just hit a 2 run shot off of Mike Mussina in the 1st inning. He now has 16 HRs. Athletics vs Yankees It was an 11 pitch AB too. Impressive.

Offman Reports
QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) It was reported on the Score during White Sox weekly that the Sox have inquired about Soriano, Brady Clark, and Reggie Sanders. Nothing too surprising. Sanders is too expensive he says. Soriano isn't too great of a possibility despite decent defense. Clark is most intriguing, but that's all the info he has on that. Offman also thinks the Sox will make a bullpen deal before an outfield deal. But I didn't hear any names. Good.

6/10 Game Thread
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) I hope there's some rain, as Jim Thome, for one, seems to like playing in the rain against Cleveland. Agreed. And I hope Buehrle's wife gave him some buttered toast for breakfast. He pitches better when he eats buttered toast.

This Year vs. Last Year
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 05:20 AM) I think that's probably because KW went out and brought in a lot of talent in during the offseason and has made it clear that he wants to win for quite some time. In large, the mentality of the front office is generally the mentality of the fan base, and what the front office does largely dictates exactly what the fans expect. Had KW sat on his thumbs and told the world about how the Sox won the Series, he could have and the fans would have been happy to suffice, been happy about winning it all in 2005, and we would be more than happy to sit through another decade of mediocrity, knowing we got what we wanted in 2005. KW didn't, so now we won't be happy until we get back to the World Series. That's how dynasties, and more importantly, loyal fanbases are built. The Yankees are the most popular team in the World, and those 26 World Championships and 39 World Series appearances sure aren't hurting their cause. Well put wite. That does seem to have a lot to do with my feelings this year. I think I'd probably hold on to '05 a lot more (don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, and I don't see anything being better than '05), if we pulled a Florida Marlins after winning it.
