  1. People here are incredibly fickle. Here's a breakdown of at least the most vocal members of Soxtalk, and where they stand on the season on a particular day: After a win: Winning the Central After a loss: Winning the Wild Card After a two-game winning streak: Give us the rings. After a two-game losing streak: Playing golf in October. And if you feel offended in any way by the above chart, you most likely are a person this chart is describing.

I also saw Ricky Bobby tonight, and I wasn't that impressed with it. I'm a big Will Ferrell fan, but I'd have to rank this below Kicking and Screaming. And I thought that one was just okay.
  3. This has been some vintage Frank the past few days. He was on base 5 times yesterday, with 3 hits and 2 walks yesterday. I wish he called it a career after last year, but he's obviously got some still in him, as long as he's healthy.
  4. 28 more, and then he can hang it up.
  5. The offense looked pretty solid in the playoffs with JD in the 3 spot.
  6. 50 wins for Tiger Woods. Holla.
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) I disagree there. Unless Rhodes is a much better rb than I think he is. I don't expect Rhodes to be the primary RB once the season gets going.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) Keep in mind he has no running game to speak of this year. He'll still be good. He's Peyton Manning. But it's a real stretch to say he'll be far and away the best qb this year. I see Culpepper having a huge year. The Colts won't be hurting too much, as a result of Edge leaving.
  9. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) i dont think there is any validity to this. francisco liriano pitched in the WBC, did he not? Francisco Liriano wasn't playing until Halloween.
  10. QUOTE(Balance @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Anybody know what Crede's status is? I was a bit worried when he came out of yesterday's game. Nothing too serious, but he won't be playing today and possibly tomorrow for precautionary reasons. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 03:06 AM) I believe we're 0-5 in the finale of a 3-game series after taking the first two. We need to sweep these guys. That would make that 9 game winning streak we had in June kind of impossible.
  12. As this whole conversation started last night, the Tigers better get a ring out of this. It's a massive choke, if they don't. You can't color it any other way. I know they haven't been in the playoffs since 1987, but you can't only hang your hat on a good regular season when you're playing this way.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 03:16 AM) Man, I'm probably the most optimistic person on this board ( well, outside of Jphat, Heads and Kap), but I don't see it happening for Freddy. It would be different if it was just mental. But dude's stuff just isn't there. It hasn't been all year. I'm happy when Freddy can give us 6 innings and 4 earned runs. How quickly I'm forgotten.
  14. We shall see. I hope you guys are around in October, win or lose, so I can ask that question again. Yes, the Sox contend year in and year out, but we rarely make the playoffs. Even with the magical regular season we had, I think I would've been extrememly disappointed with anything less in October.
  15. Are Tiger fans going to be content enough to hang their hats on 100 games in the regular season and fail to do anything in the postseason? As a Colts fan, I know I don't enjoy that sequence.
  16. Cleveland gets out of it. On to the 9th, Clev still up 3-2.
  17. Count on Count? Yessir.
  18. Tiger says holla w/ three straight 66's. He's two up going into the final round on Sunday.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) Thank God the Jewfro lives I bet it got killed horribly.
  20. I don't know about you guys, but I'm incredibly offended by a lead story that says the Sox fan base has grown...
  21. Kenan Thompson, All That! alumnus.
