White Sox vs. Indians, 5/31/06
greasywheels121 replied to Balta1701's topic in 2006 Season in Review
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) Glad to see the Rally Crede is back. Can we work on bringing back the Crede banner. Perhaps if we incoperated Brian Anderson into the Crede Banner, this may also help. It'll definitely be looked into if this becomes a downspell for the Sox. -

Who sits out during Interleague play?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) We could always just shift guys around, both Thome and Konerko can play 3B and Pauly could also play catcher, so instead of having to sit Thome or Konerko we could always bench one of Crede or Pierz instead. Also if you can play 3B, you can play LF so why not stick one of Thome, Crede or Kong out in LF, shift Pods to CF and bam no problem. C: Pierz 1B: Konerko 2B: Iguchi SS: Uribe 3B: Thome LF: Crede CF: Pods RF: Dye Awesome. Pablo should probably pitch too, so we get a little more offense from the 9 spot. -
Who sits out during Interleague play?

I want to see Thome play, but I'd rather see PK play the bulk of the time in the NL parks. I just want the Sox to do all they can to prevent any future injuries for Thome. -
QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:52 PM) from the land of doom and gloom.. ermm..I mean the Minnesota Twins They swept the Mariners over the weekend, but have dropped the last 2 games againt he Angels Recently called up prospect Jason Kubel hit a home run last night, but Scott Baker pitched not so good, and Silva might take his place in the rotation Torii Hunter stated recently that he wanted to stay with the Twins and him and management have started some contract discussions Good to hear.

http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/...pnav_undeclared I'm getting the same stuff Cleveland's getting, and it's moving through really quick. We'll see. I think we'll at least have enough time to make this official. -

ST Poll: Which is the most pressing need for the White Sox?

Bullpen, no question. -
I believe KW listed BA as one of his untouchables too.

Thanks to Ginger for the link, I just added a team board for every team on the front page's web links now. So those will all be readily available in the future. Check it out. http://www.soxtalk.com/frontpage/html/modu...?name=Web_Links

I still haven't voted yet, but I've got 5 e-mail addys that I can burn 25 each on. I'll be sure to have them in like I always do.

Though he's not having a great year by any means, I find it cool that Uribe's getting a little dap now that people have seen him in October, etc. And it is a shame that Dye continues to be overlooked/underappreciated. He's really taken for granted a lot of the time, but he just continues to contribute.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2464544 Baird has officially been fired.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) Don't worry...there's still 1 position not listed there, and I think we have an ideal candidate to start at that spot. I don't know. I'm afraid they'll overlook Pablo. I know who you're talking about.

Did Tizzle see who's #1 on the list?
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Why couldn't he hit like this for us last year? Because you can only win one WS a year.
-
QUOTE(Felix @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) A bit overly defensive about something? It's a shame he hasn't said anything about the member title he's donned the past week.
-
Well if all the starters and the runner-ups get hurt....
-
QUOTE(Felix @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) With the pitchers we have, defense is more important than the additional offense that BA would add. ^^^^ Big time. His defense is much more important to the team. The offense is already very solid. There's no way he'll do what he's doing at the dish the whole season, with what he's shown in his baseball career. So anything he gives with the bat is an added bonus IMO. BA will be fine. Our team has bigger problems. BA's not the deserved scapegoat here.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) It's just so awesome to have a ball smoked into CF but be able to say "BA's got it". You don't have that luxury with anyone else currently in the organization let alone in all of baseball. That sort of defense is invaluable but at the same time, at some point he needs to start producing at the plate. That ball that he got where Belliard tagged from 2nd, would've been a run scored with anyone else there.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 11:48 AM) Boy...there's a shocker. Haha seriously. That would've been quite the burial for them to not find something right away.

Sweet. I'll be checking this out later tonight.
