QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) Who's kidding whom there? :rolleyes ??? Look at the post you're quoting. No one saw this coming = Sampson's name was not one ever heard in the mix of candidates for the IU job at the time. Him being hired over the other names was definitely a shock.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) As I said before, I'm very surprised at the hiring of Sampson. His name just isn't as attractive as the other names that we're rumored. Greenspan definitely wanted to make this his decision, and didn't really want to buy too much into what everyone else is saying. I've got to say the things about his programs being dirty in the past scare me a lot. Indiana's never had that, and I don't want that to start with this hire. I trust Greenspan did his homework on this, and won't have any of that nonsense brought into Bloomington. He's 2 for 2 on big hires so far (with football: Hoeppner and women's basketball: Verysp). Sampson appears to be a solid recruiter, and it'd be great to see him take some of his incoming recruits into Indiana next fall. Moving from a place where football comes first, to a place where basketball is all that matters can only help that. I hope Sampson comes in and begins recruiting the state like mad; there's no reason that we shouldn't be having those players in Indiana. I can't say it's the guy I wanted; no one even saw this coming. Well he f***ed us over. I'm done with Sampson and Greenspan needs to go as well, for making this hire.

Sampson, you're a jackass. If this amounts to anything, can his ass. IU's better than this, and doesn't need this at all. This is pathetic.

DJ White is scary good. IU will need him to be big for the next three, as we have a three-game home stint beginning Wednesday against Wiscy, MSU, and Purdue.- Chris Berman goes apesh**

- Bobby Knight resigns as Texas Tech Head Coach
Despite being a life-long IU fan, current student, I've never been a Knight apologist or anything close to it. However, I really appreciate everything he did for basketball and this program. IU wouldn't be anything without what he did here. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?id=3231432 And this is a cool article on ESPN.com written by a former IU student/IDS writer about how Knight's career basically ended when he was fired from Indiana.- The Bobby Knight Golf Show????

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:24 AM) Here is a crazy thought... With Super Tuesday on the Democratic side shaping up to be a super close race, could the May 6th Indiana Primaries end up being a key vote for determining the Dem's candidate? That'd be the first time Indiana would ever matter. What are your thoughts on Indiana thinking about moving up their primary to around the same time NH has its primary?- Official NFL Thread

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) What really pisses me off is for the next week, all we are going to hear about is how big of a douche Beilcheck is. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) I still say f*** the Dolphins. But it's gonna mighty hard for Pratt to argue about the the class of his buddy Bill now. Leaving the game early. I'm not fond of the Dolphins' s***. (Sorry TRU) I wanted to see them go winless this season. Because then every time they boasted about being the only undefeated team in NFL history, people could come right back with "Yeah, but you're also the only team to go 0-16 in NFL history." Unfortunately that didn't happen. However, I'm ecstatic this Patriots team isn't going to be the one that takes the Dolphins' spot. - Chris Berman goes apesh**
