QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Just wondering, but didn't most experts peg the Royals to win the AL Central last year? After about 90% of us on the board knew that they had absolutely nobody worth a damn in their rotation, and a mediocre lineup to boot? Definitely did. People can't really predict this stuff. No one knew Frank AND Maggs would be out half of the year last year. Just let them play the games; experts doubting us isn't going to effect my optimism.

QUOTE(The Bones @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) Illinois hasn't allowed anyone to score 80 on them. Neither has Indiana ; damn we're going to get pwn3d on Sunday. Why does that game have to be on CBS? Bracey left tonight's game early; I'll probably hear what his status is tomorrow. At least most of America won't even know about it, thanks to the Super Bowl. But yeah, definitely a different style of basketball in the ACC. It seems just about all the successful teams in their conference really play a quick style of ball. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Hey greasy, he gawn or any other IU fans........ Anyone know the reason Donald Perry was suspended for so long earlier this year? I am getting tired of reading "for undisclosed violations". Possession of marijuana. -

IU beat PSU tonight at home. Play of the game was when Kline made the basket; he got a well-deserved standing-o. A select group of "fans" booed him when he went into the lineup in the Michigan game a few games back. I was really glad to see the real fans represent tonight. Bracey left the game early; he was helped off the court and into the locker room. Kind of scary. -

Blue Jays no longer play in the Skydome

Though I'm pretty used to calling our stadium the Cell now, I feel that everyone will still call this the Sky Dome, like a lot still call our's Comiskey. -
Damnit. Why couldn't this have happened before last Saturday?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) Aaron Boone comeback player of the year? Don't you have to be good before the injury to be eligable? Drew Brees won it this year in football. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) Just wait until Bracey Wright goes from a 2.0 star rating to 4.5 over night around B10 tourney time Damn yous all! He_Gawn certainly isn't the typical IU fan; don't place his wrongs on the masses. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) No real shocker there. Next year you could see Bmac on that list and potentially Josh Fields, other then that I don't think the Sox have any guys on the verge of making what I'll call the top 20, but I do think there farm system is back on the way up. Great job by KW.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) The difference between Thomas and Sosa/Bonds is Thomas was always big, not only a baseball player but also a football player. If Thomas had juiced, he would be so huge it wouldn't even be funny and believe me, you'd notice a HUGE difference. I know you were just stirring up the pot with this, but let's be realistic here, Thomas didn't go from speedy outfielder to home run hitting powerhouse in a matter of two seasons. -y2 Exactly. Yes, he looks smaller in the first, but that was still huge for a baseball player at that time. Sometimes people may bash Frank for his issues with his contract, but I don't think he could ever be bashed for what he has done for this team or the thought of ever taking steroids.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) I was referring to his "quiet" comment about who he thinks really is number 1 right now. He said it was Carolina because of the frontline with Marvin/Jawad Williams and Sean May. Enough is enough out of him. This game needs no banter about UNC or the ACC for that matter, its a great matchup and a truly great team is dominating right now. Just no need for it. He's moved on from Duke because he realizes they don't have the depth this year, I almost wish he would go back. I think when an ACC guy, UNC guy to be exact, gets tired of Vitale's act, I think it's safe to say Vitale's gone too far. -

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) Anyone else thing another lottery pick is bettter than a playoff series loss? I really don't think there's going to be that many great players this year in the draft. If I were a Bulls fan, I think it may be best to see them finally get there, and at least get some playoff experience under their belts. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) My predictions are that the Bulls finish 44-38, 6th Seed and they will play the 3rd seed (Philadelphia 40-42) in the 1st round. Note: Philly would be the 3rd seed because they would be 1st in their division (Atlantic). Finals Seeding: 1) Miami 2) Cleveland 3) Philadelphia 4) Washington 5) Detroit 6) Chicago 7) Boston 8) Orlando Indiana's going to be in the playoffs. Guarantee. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) Reading through a few of the free articles over at BP, I found this gem. Here's a link to Hiller's great season -- http://retrosheet.org/boxesetc/Khillj1010081973.htm and foulke's 2000 -- http://retrosheet.org/boxesetc/Kfoulk0010052000.htm Not looking to start up any argument here, just caught me by surprise that Foulke's 2000 was comparable to Gagne's 2002 and 2004, and among the 10 best performances by a reliever in the last 30 years. Also, I'm putting money on Gagne pitching 82.1 IP next year. Your sig man!
