Solid win today. Definitely nice to get a big win against Minnesota after the dap they've been getting lately. Bracey was out again, I really don't know if he'll even be ready for Tuesday's game at OSU or what. But Ewing had a big game today, he really stepped it up down low. He stayed out of foul trouble all game, and that's really been the only thing holding him back. I'll take it...71-56. -

I don't think Bracey's starting from what I'm hearing, but I'm pretty sure he'll see some action today. I don't think Indiana will have much trouble today. If it weren't for that dreadful start to the 2nd half at Minnesota, we would have won at their place too. -

I don't think I'll make one of these. I hate having the season somewhat "pre-determined" this early in the year. I would hate to already know that our fate is to not make the playoffs, or to lose in the first round, etc. I just want to see the games. Mr. Optimist is back. -
QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) I've never seen his fastball go over 85. Then again, I only went to two games last season and don't get to see many others on TV where I live. I hope that his 36-year-old arm can keep that upper-80's velocity for another season. That's a devastating compliment to a 60 MPH changeup. Welcome to the board! Agreed. I only say his fastball in the 80s too, but that 80s looks a lot faster than it is after seeing a frisbee. That's a nice jump in velocity.

Minnesota's here in Bloomington @ 3pm... Bubble game of the week. If anyone's watching, I'll be behind the basket Minnesota's shooting on in the first half, and Indiana's shooting on in the 2nd. I'll be the one in the red. Go IU! -
QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) I'm such a Shingo fan. You can just see the joy he gets from playing the game. He really seems to be a great guy, and he had a tremendous year last year. I hope he can come close to duplicating his success this year - if he does, the Sox will be in good shape for sure. SHINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Agreed, and I really want to see Shingo do so well. You could tell he genuinely loved the fan support of last year, and I hope he can continue to enjoy that feeling.

How many games are you going to this year?
greasywheels121 replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Last year was the first year I ever made it to more than 1 game in a season; I plan on at making it out to at least 2 again and wouldn't be surprised to be at more. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) Wait till you start seeing the people you watched while growing up start to die. That's what really gets depressing. I believe it. Reggie Miller's one of 2 guys I grew up on (the other is in my sig), and continues to be my favorite player. Though it was expected, b/c he said he never wanted to play past 40, (he turns 40 in August). It just seems weird, b/c you never wanted it to end. I just wish all that basketbrawl stuff didn't happen. The Pacers finished w/ the best record last year and could have very well done the same and possibly went to the finals. It's a sad way to go out, but I have no doubt he'll always be my favorite basketball player.

QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) LOL Minnesota starts the fireworks this year. I guess you could say that's a good thing. We always were the first ones to say something. It seemed like the thing that worked for the Twins in the past was that they didn't worry about us. If Torii wants them worry about us this year, fine by me.

QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) I'd make the steroid policies stricter First offense: 3 month suspension Second offense: 5 years Third: See ya! Ha they'd basically be done after the 2nd offense, but I like that. The steroid policy should really be no mercy. I hate the fact that someone like Bonds/Giambi are still able to play like nothing ever happened. -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) FINALLY I got a new job opportunity today. It's sure a relief. Now comes the resignation from my current company, which is sure to be ugly. Congrats Kap!

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) If the book is out already then it's a bit late for anything to be removed.. That part of the article has to be wrong; everything I hear is the book comes out Monday like you said previously. -
Well I'm glad to see him not just latch on to the Spurs to get that championship ring. I like what Reggie said when GP and Malone went to the Lakers last year, "I didn't want to be like some other guys who jump on another team's bandwagon just to get a ring." I wish he would've finished his career in Utah, but he'll definitely be a first ballot.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) I know it's no Goldmember, but I tried... Not too shabby Brian! I like the crowd picture you used from the UM game...haha I'm in the upper right in that crowd shot.

Reggie Miller to retire at season's end

One more article I found....Reggie's my first real favorite player to retire, so it's kind of weird. Frank and Reggie are probably always going to be my 2 most favorite athletes of all time. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) I won't disagree with that, but to me he's one of the top clutch players in NBA history. I just can't forget "The Comeback" against the Knicks, one of the most remarkable things you'll ever see in the NBA. Which one? 25 in the 4th... 8 in 8.9 seconds... etc...etc.. -
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) That's just stupid. Why call a press conference and apologize if you can't admit what you did wrong except through leaked grand jury testimony? Baseball already has enough issues that we don't need players like him further tainting its image. I bet the media's pretty pissed, this thing got pretty hyped up for Giambi to really say nothing new. Oh well, I can't say I feel bad for the media.
