Boers: "today is a great day" -- obviously in reference to Murph leaving. I like Holmes but I'm not sure he's such a good listen. I'm excited for Mac though, I think the crossover at 1pm with Mac, B&B will be lots of fun.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) Matt Spiegel will be MacNeil's partner. He was sounding awfully sycophantic on B&B yesterday. I think Spiegel and Mac will do great together. I like the blending of style and personalities. Mike North gone... Murph Gone... this as good as I've ever seen the score line-up. EVER.

QUOTE (shipps @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:17 AM) The Bears have kept me hard all off season.

How many games back will we be when Detroit comes to town for that five game series next week? I love it.

QUOTE (shipps @ May 21, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) The zoo's we have here in Chicago are better and I am usually quick too take a s*** on anything we have here over anything in California so thats saying something. I really couldn't disagree more... that giant zoo they have in san diego is awesome! its expensive but totally amazing experience. In fact the Zoo's in chicago are too small and it depresses me when I have to see the animals all locked up and confined in such a tight space,

Rocky has done a great, great job... however, outside of convincing McDonough to come to the Hawks... the rest of the stuff was pretty easy and I honestly believe anyone on this board could have turned this franchise around. Things had gotten so absolutely horrible and stagnant that the solution to almost every problem the organization faced was "do the opposite" which Rocky did. I'm not trying to say that Rocky doesn't deserve credit, because he ABSOLUTELY does, but fixing this team wasn't a revelation of sports management considering the situation he was presented with. I guess I'm just trying to put things in the proper perspective.

Thought this was interesting... maybe a full-time replacement for Hunter/Roach? Tribune.com

Jordan vs. LeBron, who you got?
MurcieOne replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
MJ>Lebron However, if you asked me if I think it might be possible for Lebron to overtake MJ at some point, I'd have to say yes. I mean it's not really fair to compare the two's statistics after their careers are over because Lebron will most likely play maybe six or seven seasons more than MJ did. However, I mean you watch LeBron play and you can't help but be in awe of the guy. LeBron -- if he continues to focus on defense and making the players around him better -- might win more than six titles. I have the feeling that we are about the enter the era of LeBron completely dominating the NBA for years and years. (as in winning championships) Looking forward I don't see a legitimate team in the East that will stand in his way. Boston is aging and they have probably 1 more run at a title next year if KG, Pierce, and Allen all stay healthy. The Magic are perhaps the only team that would provide LeBron a serious threat in the next 3 seasons, and I'm not even sure that they will be able to actually ever win a series against LeBron. If LeBron manages to win 7-8 titles... I think this argument changes considerably. In terms of persona, I like MJ a lot more than LeBron. I think MJ had the persona of I AM GOING TO BEAT YOU without ever actually coming out and saying I'm the best. LeBron has made his game a spectacle and his antics before the game kind of put me off. Whatever, I will always love MJ more than LeBron regardless. But it is kind of fun to have a player that could even invoke such a discussion -
QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:00 PM) tyrus thomas = this. Tyrus has all the skills to be a good NBA player... but he plays dumb as s***. I just don't see the basketball IQ.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ May 5, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) Rodgers > Cutler And I'm a Bears fan. Based on their physical abilities I'd take Cutler any day of the week over Rodgers. However, I bet Rodgers is more productive next year than Cutler because he has an entire stable of really talented receivers. Although, I bet by the end of their careers more people will rate Cutler above Rodgers.

Kessler is such a little b****... hair pulling, trying to start s*** with marty at the end of the game... i hope the eager beaver lays him out soon -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) Rose's defense was better this series, especially the last 2 games, than it was most of the year. The problem is our defense can't defend the pick and roll, every time there was a switch it put them completely out of position and you wound up with Rose having to guard Davis or Perkins, over and over and over. You can't have 6 foot guys guard 7 foot guys and expect to win! The Bulls switches were just remarkably stupid. How many times can they score off of that before you make a change coach? Please! well said. what veteran coaches are available?

Derrick has to stop running around the screens... fight through one every once in awhile.

lol... I hope Rondo is embarrassed when he watches this game later on, he looks like such a pussy after laying down on the ground like that.
