Tyrus Thomas has a really low Basketball IQ. Dumb over-the-back fouls... slap-blocking balls out of bounds when he could tap them to a teammate... he doesn't get "it" whatever that means.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) I love MB and a couple years ago thought he could make a run at 250-300 ala becoming Jamie Moyer-esque in his late 30's and early 40's but I doubt he pitches after 35. And he will never be a HoF'er. He should absolutely have his number retired as a White Sox player as soon as he does retire though. This sums up my feelings. I love Mark, hes probably my favorite White Sox pitcher of all time, but he's not a HOF.

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) nice play by j-dizzle. that was a sick catch. max effort play. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) No one's going to sign him to be the man again or offer him the man kind of money. He's going to wind up being a part timer at best. I agree. I can't see a team signing the edge to be THE GUY. I can see him landing in Detroit, Cleveland, Jacksonville, as a complimentary guy. Buffalo might have made sense before they signed Rhodes -- maybe.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 06:50 PM) Someone will pick him up for a little bit if he wants to play. If the price was right, he would be a nice compliment to Forte -- but we already re-signed Kevin Jones so it wouldnt make cap-sense

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) As just a fan of football, I love Mel Kiper as well. He knows a lot of his stuff. Are some guys going to pan out that he originally didn't predict? Yes. Will some guys bust that he didn't think would? Yes. Everyone's wrong, but I find it he's a lot better at predicting than most other teams. Mike Williams wasn't Kiper's finest moment... ooof

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 04:28 AM) Anyway, thank god I have the NFL Network b/c I really enjoyed their draft coverage. I didn't watch 1 second of ESPN this whole draft. Mike Mayock FTW!
-
FWIW Mel Kiper says Jarron Gilbert was the steal of the draft.

Bears are stockpiling WRs... I like it

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 07:08 PM) On the other hand though, I look at the Giants in the Super Bowl up against one of the best offenses in history. Their secondary and even their linebackers weren't exactly legendary, but the thing on that team everyone learned to fear was the strength of their D-Line. completely agree... i think it works both ways. A great core of DB's can create a sack for a DLine or the D-line can make a Secondary's life easier. However, I think the D-Line's impact from play to play is more significant and can make the DB's better more than the DBs can make the Dline better.

I actually love all the picks JA made. I wanted Robiskie but when he was gone, I think Iglesias was the next best choice. Jarron Gilbert and Melton are both great athletes and we brought Maranelli in here to improve our D-line. It makes total sense to me to give your best position coach some players he can develop. I wanted to see a Safety taken, I like D.J. Moore... but I think it might be time to give Mike Brown a call and see if they can make amends. I mean seriously, he's the best option we have at Safety at this point... I give Jerry Angelo high marks for his draft, I have a weird feeling that we might find some gems. Oh and how about bringing in Graham Harrell and letting him compete for the 3rd QB position? I thought he would have been drafted, sucks because I loved watching him at Tech.

bears draft enrique iglesias

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) Angelo's finally figuring out. Let other franchises waste money on 1st and 2nd round busts and draft cheaper, lower round diamonds in the rough. I love what Belichick does... he will pay 1st round talent if he really likes them.. otherwise he will continue to trade down until he gets value. He accumulates picks for drafts that he thinks are full of talent... from his actions today, he must not like what he sees on the draft board.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 07:13 PM) Exactly how I feel... So anti-climatic. I had an inkling they would do something like this, but it still pisses me off that I've watched the draft all day and I won't even get to see the Bears pick until tomorrow. I really wish the 3rd round was still on Day 1. I'd still have something to look forward to tonight. Our draft was a month ago. I am completely content.

Laurinits to the Rams -- great pick for Spagnola in STL
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:59 PM) Am I the only one out there that thought Maualuga was the most impressive LB at USC? He dominated when I saw them play. completely agree with you, I was surprised when mocks started coming out and Cushing was rated ahead of him.
-
QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Laurinitis will go here at 33. and i'm wrong.
-
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) Who would have thought at this time last year that both Laurinaitis and Maualuga would fall to the 2nd round? Laurinitis will go here at 33.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Any takers for Beanie outproducing Moreno in the NFL? Its ridiculous he's fallen this far. I'd take Brown in Indy out producing both of them.
-
Beanie has to be a lock here right?
-
Wow Colts went offense? I guess brown makes a lot more sense than wells because he's more of a pass catcher and a little quicker.
-
f***ing Patriots. just buttf***ed ted thompson - 2nd rd pick and 2 3d rders for the 26th pick overall. Clay Matthews? I'm not super impressed.
-
Vontae Davis to MIA -- good value talent wise but problems off the field.
-
I wonder what the Tuna does here... maybe Maualuga, Matthews?
