  1. Udonis Haslem, Michael Ruffin, Josh Boone.... contestants in the ugliest player in the league competition.
  2. The Bulls are embarassing on Defense... if Wade would have reversed on that dunk (probably didnt realize he actually had time) this game would be over.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 09:15 PM) And then suddenly he outsmarts the Heat. Michael Beasley is a miserable defender in the truest sense of the word miserable.
  4. This team is still full of a lot of "ifs" but I like our chances more and more every day. I'm excited to see if the OZ man can go out and win another division title. It seems definitely possible.
  5. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Hawks showing up big time at home. Down 4-1 to an awful Colorado squad. what happened to Havlat?
  6. I wish the Pats would have signed him.... Moss, Owens, Welker, Brady, and about 60TD's
  7. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) I came here to post something about this. I can just picture TO yelling at Jauron for a good couple of minutes without Jaurons expression changing or him saying a word. "4th and 1... JUST THROW ME THE MOTHERf***ING BALL!" "Terrell... I understand the zest and zeal of your opinion, but a punt isn't necessarily a bad thing" "WHAT THE f*** ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! WERE GIVING THE BALL BACK TO OTHER TEAM" "Well Terrell we can punt the ball and get into a war of field position... and ultimately kick field goals while running off clock" "YOU GOTS TO BE f***ING KIDDING ME" "Terrell, I can assure you that I am not kidding you."
  8. Dick Jauron and Terrell Owens? DJ's head will explode by year end.
  9. Thornton 7 pitch inning, yowza
  10. Thank goodness Bush's silly policy will be overturned. This is the best move Obama has made as POTUS by far. I'm glad that he took action quickly and didnt let the ban linger for longer than it should have. Now about that spending bill.... well thats a different thread.
  11. if jesse jackson jr. can win the senate seat that he basically tried to purchase two years earlier: A) he is really something B ) we are really stupid C) I honestly don't think I could live in illinois anymore. i would swallow and accept giannoulis... but I just cant stomach the idea that Jesse Jr. could hold such an office after being outed as such a fraud/corrupt. yes -- charges weren't filed against him, but (correct me if im wrong) it was widely understood that he was "senate candidate 5" the guy who offered 500K
  12. Cowboys released Roy Williams -- too expensive? Broncos signed Chris Simms -- rather battle Jay Cutler for playing time than Kyle Orton? Springs to Pats
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) im assuming thats a photoshop right?
  14. This win sets up a battle for 8th place on Friday... how exhilarating!
  15. I really like the move. I can't imagine we gave up too much -- Moore rejected an extension offered by TOR and was going to walk after the season. I'm actually glad he is going to be a UFA, because he's having a career year (contract year) and you'd hate to have a guy turn back into a pumpkin and clog up your cap. Nice move Dale.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) Happy Belated Birthday Marky!!!! too late... real pain for you.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 12:32 PM) Yes but we didnt draft him and we pushed him out of town for our "new franchise" RB in Benson. The Bears have had trouble finding that good long term solution since about Payton. Neal Anderson was pretty close. The average career of a running back is 2.6 years. Most teams don't have long term solutions at running back. Patriots have won three SuperBowls with three different starting RB's -- one Qb though. Unless you have that really special guy, its not worth blowing cap space on. Look at LT, even when you have that special guy... you never know when he's gonna lose "it." which seems to be the case with running backs when they near 30. Edgerrin James -- same thing.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) Whenever the Bears' O-Line has performed well, they've had a decent running game under the last couple coaching staffs by my recollection. Thats essentially the case with all teams. Unless you have a guy like AP (who actually has an amazing o-line) or LT in his prime... you need to have good play from your o-line. The bears o-line last year wasn't great, but they performed better than anyone expected and were probably around the middle of the league performance wise. Matt Forte is already a pretty great player. As stated earlier he can run, catch, and block like a five-year veteran, however, I would not consider him a transcendent player. Forte doesn't have the quickness, elusiveness, or sheer brunt force to take over a game like Adrian Peterson, Jerome Bettis, etc... Thats why you trade him. While you probably wont find another running back as good as Forte in the immediate future... you will be able to find a player who can do just enough to make your team win. The same cannot be said about the QB position, where elite QBs are limited per era and where fill-ins could not come close to replicating the impact of the elite player. The reasoning above is why the Broncos will not trade Jay Cutler... if I were the Broncos I wouldn't trade Jay Cutler for the Lions pick at number 1. Cutler has already made the pro bowl... currently makes less than Stafford will as the number 1 (assuming they'd take him) and they don't have to wait two-three years until Cutler is ready. This is all just mental exercise, because the Bears will not trade for Cutler, Orton will be our QB and will probably not be here next year. The fact remains that this franchise cannot develop the position most crucial to success. Just cant do it. Angelo and Lovie have to be held accountable and so do their successors. There is probably no bigger reason for the bears lack of championships over the past two-plus decades than being unable to find a franchise QB.
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 11:55 AM) The Hawks are near the bottom in overall faceoff percentage wins and the penalty kill hasn't been very effective the last month and a half. The Hawks will need to create cap space to try and solve both these problem areas. I still think the Hawks have a shot at Dominic Moore of Toronto. Quick note -- Moore was held out of last nights game... definitely a signal of a pending trade somewhere. Also, espn says that hawks are interested in Mark Recchi -- hes a UFA at the end of the year but would be a nice Gary Roberts type pick up for a playoff run.
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 10:35 AM) I'd vote for it. +2
  21. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) Havlat wins it in OT with great individual effort. He's been showing lately just how good he really is. He's a UFA after the season and is already making $6 mill. I wonder what it will take to resign him. He made a lot of money while injured and sure would hate to see him go. He's been looking like a superstar. SS2K5 -- Question: who is leading the team in points? Answer: Martin Havlat I will be awaiting your apology mike.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) I'd prob boycott the games. That would be one of the worst moves in Bears history. The Broncos aren't going to trade Jay Cutler, but if they were interested and wanted Matt Forte and 2nd/3rd round pick I'd trade him in a second. A) Don't get me wrong, I really like Forte but when did he become Walter Payton reincarnated? and B-) As has been proven time and time again throughout the league... its sooo much harder to find an elite QB than an RB.
  23. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) FWIW from the guy on Hockeybuzz that covers OTT: "The Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Flordia have made serious pitchs for Vermette, and according to the Ottawa Sun, Chicago Blackhawks are leading the way. Good on faceoffs, young, attractive... seems to fit Dale Tallon's wants/desires.
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 03:23 PM) There is no argument. Orton >>> Sage. I know Sage has put up some numbers but he's older and has had a lot more weapons than Kyle ever had. Kyle has a shot to be an above average QB in this league for a long time, I can't say the same about Sage. are you just being nice because you forced me into early retirement? or perhaps because you didn't wish me happy birthday yesterday? or DO YOU REALLY AGREE WITH ME? ::tears::
